Champs @ Als week 15 PGT

I think the roster will look pretty much the same.

Not sure there were any significant injuries last week for us.

Depending on what happens the night before their playoff position may be set.

I was thinking this week they rest a pile and then next week the starters play a half or more to get sharp before playoffs.... But I could be wrong!

I can see the logic in that. You could certainly be correct.

Give our backup QB a full game in a road environment. Let ZC get some work in next week against a team we may play in the final.

This was the one game I could see us potentially losing only due to the convenience of being able to rest starters. I would mind seeing starts play halfs for the rest of the two games and have the backups or as many as we can for the other halfs.

I thought Calgary first?

Could see Demski getting a rest this week.

Just saw BA walking into the players doors with a bit of a limp, wouldn't be surprised to see him rested for this game on Saturday

Darby can play safety and Jones can fill in for Darby.

Or, we could let one of the Hallett boys get in there.

Just a reminder that we have the bye before the West Final. Any nicked up players (and there are always kicks after a game) will get their treatment and be ready to go. Or will take a lighter load at practice. Or will rotate more during the game. Anyone hurt enough to need rest will get it. I trust that the club will treat this as another normal week and not go crazy trying to sit players. Keep the same routine, go 1-0 this week. Don’t fix what isn’t broken. Trying to guess who will sit “just because” is a fool’s errand.

Demski has been dealing with injury all year.

Certainly is not "just because"

Yeah, I got rid of that big ugly cow for this handful of crazy beans.

The Hallett boys are real good.  It's not like the old days of ni teamers being really limited.

If demski sits I hope orange gets some decent reps. Maybe Shaq gets a look as he can do a lot of the varied catch and run looks demski gets.

I hope agudosi gets a late season look. I wouldn't be surprised if McKnight gets a look again with any wr out.

If demski sits it'd be great to see woli in his spot with orange in wolis with the blocking assignments.

I am fully ready to see us sit some starters, Zach especially. This doesn't strike me as a team that gets 'rusty' and Zach is the straw that stirs the drink. We can't afford to lose him now.

yup...heal some knicks now...play some backups...then limit reps for starters in last game to keep the rust off...sitting last game would be dumb considering we have buy into the final

I'm legitimately curious to see what McGuire does with a full week of primary reps in practice. I suspect a heavy run offense, but he can sling it. This is essentially a pre season game, so it'll be fun to watch some newbies run around out there..

Love McGuire starting. Gets him game time, keeps Zach healthy and gives us a built in excuse if we lose. Win-win-win.

Agreed. What I love about McGuire getting in the game this Saturday- live rounds against an opponent that has A LOT to play for.

It makes sense to me that starting the regulars and letting them play the first half to keep the rust off, then subbing liberally would be a good plan. Letting the first stringers play the whole next game, or most of it would get them in the proper mindset for the playoffs.

I think Neufeld has been great the last couple games after a rough start....

I thought he was ok- just not at the same level as Yoshi is. I might have to go back nd look at the last game and focus more on line play.

He's been much better than the first start. But he still can't handle big speed rushes off his edge. Which isn't a surprise he is a guard. When guys try and bull rush him or take a tight angle on him he's been very good. Going guard to tackle is extremely hard and few ol would do as well as he has. He deserves his props for that.

Excited to see mcguire start. Surprised too. Wouldn't have bet on it this week. Excited to see Brown get some looks too.

in Neuf's defense..there are not many right tackles in the league at Yoshi's level

how do you gameplan if you're the Als?  last week your ace RB hit the century mark and you got some decent heat on the blue qb, which no other team has really done.  And you still lost.  What do you do differently?

I guess with McGuire starting, you bring heat, lots of it.  Test Yoshi to see how he's recovered after the injury.  Bring delayed blitzers against Augustine sets, see how good he is at picking up the extra rusher. Move the safety around, see if you can bait big 12 into bad throws.
