Week 12 Lions @Champs pre game talk

Win this week and we clinch the West.

No trap game here. I think the Bombers will be pissed off watching the film against Edmonton.

BC has terrible lines, I don't see how they stop us from doing what we want.

Jets game at the exact same time time. Thanks, NHL.

    @cgystampeders I’ll see your Tre Roberson and raise w/ a Winston Rose…

  • Jets have  already lost more games than the bombers this year…

  • Wow who sits? Or is Nick Taylor more hurt than they thought.

Unless BC suddenly finds a running game the front 7 are going to make life absolutely miserable for the BC OL and Reilly.

We might drop a 40 bomb on them, win the west with a statement.

For those less mathematically inclined, we can clinch under any of the following scenarios:

1. Win 1 of our remaining games.

2. Saskatchewan has at least 2 ties or one loss in their remaining games

3. The Bombers and Riders both have a tie in one of their remaining games each respectively.

I seriously think we are watching the end of a great QBs career. Riley can still throw a sweet long ball but the days of him as a dual threat are over. Unless he goes to a team with line support or Lions drastically revamp their online and run game, then iIt’s all downhill from here.

Reilly still has tread on the tires in my estimation, but bc is not the place. **** OL and no commitment to run at all is just gonna get the guy killed.

Close, but not entirely accurate. In scenarios 2 or 3 either Calgary or BC could still finish ahead of us (but not both).

Right now, the ONLY scenario in which we finish 3rd Is with BC and Sask. passing us. This week, we clinch first with a win, or a tie AND a Sask. tie or loss. Beyond this week, we would need the above scenarios you listed in 2 or 3 PLUS a loss by 20 or less to BC AND a loss by 1 point to Calgary.

To clinch 2nd and a home playoff game this week, we require no worse than a loss by 20 to BC OR a Sask. loss.

The Bombers don't need Saskatchewan to lose.

We are 9-1 they are 5-4.

The best they can do is get to 10 wins and we win the tie breaker.

You might have forgot who holds tiebreakers in some scenarios?

I sure hope we do not see Neufeld at tackle again. That's flirting with disaster.

Agree here.

Should try Gray since he’s more of a technician than a brawler which I believe is require more on a tackle.

Or try any of our 2 American OL in PR.

If Yoshi’s out for a long time, I say we should try trading for Derek Dennis from Elks.

That's more of a Winnipeg problem than a Winnipeg problem.

The Vikings were “firing’” Zimmer until they beat the Panthers in OT 😆

Nope, factored that in as best I could.

If Sask won out or went 4-0-1 and we lost out, they would have more points than us. So a Bomber win OR a Sask loss is required (or the aforementioned combo of ties).

That isn't what you said. You said a Bomber win and a Rider loss or tie. Emphasizing "and" to clinch.

We don't need the Riders to do anything if we win against BC. They can't get to 11 wins.

We have the tie breaker against Sask.

They need to be one win ahead (11). They can't, winning out puts them at 10 wins.

Bah. Forgot they both still have a game in hand on us. Ah well, c'est la vie.

If we win even just 1 of our remaining games we will still have the best record in the West at 10-4. The best record that Cgy and BC can come up is 9-5, Ssk can finish at 10-4 but we have the tie breaker.

So like I was saying with the first sentence of the first post of the thread because it was the most important:

Win this week and we clinch the West.

Yep! Just Win Baby, don't have to worry about anything else!

BC looked like hot garbage against Calgary. Definitely does not look like a team that is on the rise. Other than Ottawa could probably not ask for a better "clinch" opponent.  And yes, I am well aware I am jinxing it....argh...
