Champs vs Argos

Not the team that I'd have wanted us to play after an unexpected week 1 win. Too many questions about what this Argo team is for me to have confidence in this one. Can't see past our lines getting beaten enough to change the game too far into  the Bomber's favor. Still a football game after a long lapse in football games so who knows... but I picked the Bombers on my betting sheet.

I’ve heard/read about the game in 1981, when The Als came here, after signing everyone and their Dutch Cousin in the offseason. 58-2 I think?
I have those kind of vibes about tonight.

After watching the Stamps last night, the Argos opening win doesn't look that impressive. But, I still think they're a legit threat to win the East and cause the TiCats problems. Haven't seen the Als yet, though.

(And welcome to the board!)

Absolutely. But, the OL and DL (mostly) are intact and our QB is healthy.

Offensively we look the same as last week, but we didn’t really light it up against Hamilton. Receivers not named Lawler and Demski need to step up. Defensively, without the pressure up front our back end was susceptible to getting picked apart (see opening drive). Now we have lost Richardson, Willie might not play, and Jeffcoat is beat up. That’s 3 of our starting 4 on the d-line, hardly “mostly intact”. Add to that the loss of Josh Johnson on the back end, no faith shown in our FG game, and our return specialist gone, and 2/3 of the 3 parts of our team have been noticeably weakened. I bet Bombers this week, and if we play a LaPo style run heavy eat up the clock limit turnovers type of offence and keep MBT from field time to rack up yards, and we deploy our linebackers more in the pass rush, we win. But if Willie does sit I fear I would regret my bet. Hope I am wrong. As always cheering with my heart, but hedging my bets with my head.

Last week was our first game of they year, which I consider to be a glorified pre-season game. As Buck and Zach figure things out, I expect an improved offensive performance. Heck, even knowing they can rely on Oliveira to grind out a couple of quarters of clock killing will give them some comfort.

I laughed because that rhymes with Dutch Oven and sometimes I'm 12.

That Sums it up well. The argos d is gonna improve alot with time. Especially if they can find a good end. Ol takes longer. The argos are gonna need to commit to the run game to develop an ol. Leaving them out to dry with 40 pass plays a game is not going to develop a line. White may not be the answer at back though.

With his size, hands and not blazing speed he should be a Joe Pop possession slot back and not a wideout.

His speed isnt bad. 4.6 which was poor for him. We just don't involve him in the offense. It's a damned shame. But he would be a lot better at slot. Makes no sense to me why we keep him at wr
