CFL Game #76 Team Notes – Saskatchewan at Winnipeg:

Season series: The Riders have already clinched the 2018 series with Winnipeg leading 2-0 and can ensure a finish ahead of them with another win this week at Investors Group Field. It is their first series victory over Winnipeg since 2014. They stat from the first two games of 2018 vs the Bombers was an 8-3 Turnover edge and 6 Sacks made vs 3 by Winnipeg.

Zach Collaros .727: The Riders' QB has completely turned around his W-L record this year after an 0-12 skid in Hamilton. Zach is #2 in the CFL with a .727 win % in 2018 at 8-3 and has once again gotten above .500 for his career at 32-30. His W-L record has come in 3 distinct stretches - 2012-15: 21-12; 2016-17: 3-15; 2018: 8-3.

Matt Nichols - 7 INTs cut to 1: Nichols comes in with a 3-game win streak and has not lost since the two Saskatchewan games either side of Labour Day. He has thrown just one INT over the last 3 games compared to 7 picks in the 3 games before that. Nichols has yet to throw for 300+ yards this season vs 10 above 300 yards over the 2016-17 seasons.

3-game win streak for Riders: Saskatchewan is riding a 3-game winning run with none of the victories by a margin greater than 7 points and 13 points in total. In games decided by 8 points or less, essentially one possession games at the end, Saskatchewan has gone 8-3 in 2018. Just 4 of their games have been decided by more than 8 points.

4 in a row away: The Riders current 4-game road winning streak matches their recent best set over the last 4 games of 2017. They last won 5 in a row or more back in 2007-08 with a 6-game road run of success.

Andrew Harris Career Highs: Comes in trailing Ottawa's William Powell by just 2 yards (1,233 to 1,235) after a stats correction from early in the season (reducing Powell's total by one yard), but with one fewer game left. He has already posted new career-highs with his 1,233 yards, 8 rushing TDs and 5 games of 100+ yards.

Adam Bighill: Ranks #2 in the CFL in defensive tackles with 90 and with 10 more can make it 4 seasons at 100+.. Only two players have ever had 4 seasons or more with 100+ defensive tackles - Willie Pless (7) and Barrin Simpson (4).

Mike Miller 155 ST: Ranks #2 in the CFL in Special Teams Tackles with 17. The New Brunswick native is up to 155 in his career and that ranks him #12 all-time, 3 back of #11 Ray Biggs at 158 and 6 short of the Top 10. Miller has recorded at least one ST Tackle in 89 of his 137 career games - a remarkable 65% of his appearances.

Consecutive 32-yard Converts: Since the 2015 move of the 1-point convert kick out to 32 yards, none have been better than Justin Medlock of late. He is a perfect 46-of-46 in 2018 and has now made 55 in a row from 32 yards. The longest streaks including Medlock's CFL record of 82 in a row from the 32-yard distance from 2015 to 2017.

 13 return TDs: Saskatchewan’s record of 13 (👁‍🗨there’s that number again) return scores is the highest in club history and the most by any club in the last 15 years. The last club to have as many as 13 return TDs was Montreal in 2003.

13 return TDs Part II: Saskatchewan's total of 13 return scores ranks tied for #2 all-time trailing only BC in 1987. The Lions set a CFL record that year with 15, including a record 11 by their defence. Saskatchewan has 9 on defence in 2018.

Riders in the playoffs: Based on a potential 4-way tie in the West at 10-8, the Riders would still come out in playoff position.

Dressler: Is now at 123 straight games with a reception. At 709 catches, he passed Rocky DiPietro for #12 all-time last week.

Justin Medlock: Has made 16 of his last 17 FG attempts and now leads the CFL with 12 punts inside the 10-yard line.

Turnovers Forced: Winnipeg leads with 41 Takeaways including 2 last week. They are #1 with 139 points off of Turnovers.

 Shaquelle Evans: In his last 2 games has caught 12 of his targets, for a team-high 173 yards and 4 for 2nd down conversions.

Tre Mason: Was held to just 20 yards last week by Edmonton and did not gain more than 5 yards on any of his 10 carries.

Hughes: Took his Sack total to 15 and now has 114 for his career and the #9 spot all-time.

Willie Jefferson: Has at least one Sack in 5 of his last 6 games and two pick 6's this year including a 49-yarder last week.

Winning without an Offensive TD: The Riders did just that last week with a pick '6' and 4 field goals over Edmonton. ____________________________________________________________________________________

If this is not the most intense, hair-teeth-and-eyeballs-all-over-the-field game of the year, I will be greatly disappointed. The Bombers need to make a point, not only to the Riders, but also the rest of the league and Bomber fans. The two previous games were winnable but the Bombers folded like aluminum lawn chairs. This game ought to be a playoff preview.

I take exception to this term as it indicates that the team folded, and anybody who saw those games knows what led to those losses..

We need to go 0-3 and you need to go 3-0....Ill give you $100 if that happens. It isn't going to.

There is a very good possibility this happens. An exposed Rider team that's beat up likely isnt beating Calgary and BC may still be fighting for a spot when they play them last. Bombers have shown they cam dismantle Edmonton and Calgary is beatable.

Not happy with how that mess turned out.  Glad I was at work and only listened on the radio. Doesn't matter. full credit for a big effort from your Defense.  Played a hell of a game and got it done. Wasn't good enough effort from us.  Not the end of the world either way.  Will make things more interesting now that's for sure
