Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)

Training camp is over .... adjustments have been made  and its time for the opening kickoff

Anybody change their minds on how preseason changed their expectations for this year .... Montreal thrashing Ottawa changed mine .... cutting Willy raise my hopes for the Argos .... Edmonton looks stronger than I first thought and Regina even worse

For the first time in years I am forecasting Winnipeg finishes first in the league  .. just an optimistic hunch .... I forecast these final standings:

Winnipeg

Calgary

Vancouver

Edmonton

Ottawa

Montreal

Toronto

Hamilton

Regina

  • Well, there you go.  It seemed to me that it’s been perceived as being stale and the interest level was tapering off. It takes all week to gather, edit and format that topic and I thought I’d giv

Often...? Yeah, one of the league's top offensive units that's gone cold in recent weeks due to injury vs. a defensive unit that's been one of the worst in the league in several categories for the las

ya thats true.. plausible he was unhappy there and it bled into his performance or mannerisms..  tire fires tend to do that to people.

Tyms had every opportunity to be the man especially after Tolliver went down. Team was begging him to. Week one he gets blasted by Austin for missing block then later camera catches him laughing with Argo defender.

Barely started after that. Work ethic dont match the skills me thinks

My money is on Montreal being the other team interested in Johnny Football.  The Als love those questionable big-splash moves and appear to have no plan at QB.

(Here, I'll save someone the trouble of making a FTFY post:  "The Als love those questionable big-splash moves and appear to have no plan at QB.")

Nailed it and I'm never right about anything so I'm gonna pump my own tires here a bit.

Other two teams?  Saskatchewan and Toronto, I'd bet.  Both teams have QBs who are expired or nearly expired.  Jones loves his bad boys and the Argos would do anything for a headline in Toronto.

Lordy, lordy. The Montreal situation is giving me flashbacks about the Glieberguy's era in Ottawa.

Oh Montreal.. Never change. They love their washed up NFL'ers

It's almost like the Als are trying to be a bigger gong show then Hamilton this season?

Well Popp is gone, so one of the Wetenhall's must be responsible for this predilection.

If Glenn starts TiCats D will key on whacking his throwing hand.

There is no try.......just do.

Well, that would be better than throwing his whacking hand...

Is it almost whacking day already!?

If Johnny Football ended up in Toronto it would be great for selling tickets. Would pay for itself, really.

I think it would be great for the CFL in Toronto, if, if, if, Manziel's head is on right.

If fate had not intervened, a time where Johnny M and Rob Ford existed in the same city would have been awesome.

Khalil Bass released today by the redblacks.  Wonder if there is interest on him coming back to winnipeg.  He struggled in ottawa but could be a good guy to rotate in a lot for the right $$.

For the right price id love to see him back in Blue and Gold.

No. When healthy, both Wild and Leggett are better and he has the wrong passport to replace Hurl.

GM Marcel Desjardins said the move isn’t money related. Bass, who had been splitting playing time with Serderius Bryant, was told he was being moved – he would be a backup to Taylor Reed this week.

“He was getting fewer reps than he liked on defence,” said Desjardins. “(Coach) Rick (Campbell) sat down with him and asked if he wanted to be here and he said, ‘No.’ It’s not like he wasn’t on the roster. It’s not like he wasn’t playing. He was playing less. But he was still meant to be part of what we were doing going into this week. He opted to not be here. We don’t want somebody here who doesn’t want to be here.

Wpg would be on top of Bass' list.

Familliarity with the team, coaches and D.

His GF is from here also.

Hurl has better numbers than Bass this year... just saying...
