Hes probably getting paid a pretty penny and is at that age where hes probably not gonna get better.. He was good.. But not great. Im surprised but with Walker Fogg even Carmichael and Porter around.. Something had to give.

Bombers must like what they have seen from the db's on the roster cheaper younger plus Johnson got roasted last year both on the field and in these forum's.

I know its probably small but lets not forget Johnson was suspended last season for drug use. 

This seems surprising...

I like Will Hill. Can play different position on the secondary and SAM.

But we have a good depth with Alexander, Carmichael, Fogg, Walker and Porter.

Maybe he was asked to go to PR but opted to be released instead.

I don't like this on a couple levels....

1) They always say you don't lose your job to injury.....and he clearly has done just that. This looks bad on the team, from a PR perspective, among players around the league........

2) I'm not sold on that side of the field yet.....not sold that he wouldn't help out......

He lost his job to a guy that while improving, has inspired little confidence. And it's not like we're getting any younger at the position as Carmichael is only a year younger.

I am surprised but I also had the feeling O'Shea wasn't going to be taking out Brian Walker.  I'm surprised it is a release though.  I guess he makes too much money to sit on the bench.

Bit of a surprise. Folks kept saying he was going to fix our DB problem. I guess the paycheck didn't match the output any more. Hard to miss him as he hasn't played this year.

Maybe he wasnt happy about not playing this week/in the future (assumption) and asked for release? Either way isnt that great for optics.

This is a guy who was a legit wooping boy on these boards last season. While his release is surprising, its not the biggest surprise. 

Really thought he'd help.

Definitely think it's possible they asked him to take a PR spot and he said no...

Gotta think he is bound for the Ticats or Riders.

There's almost always a story behind the story and if so, we won't hear about it for months. It is a surprise, though. Whatever it is, that he didn't get a shot to reclaim his job is not good optics.

I dont buy that. Was there ever a clear understanding of what his injury was to start the season? I noticed he didnt tweet at all after training camp. I wonder if this was more of a demotion than injury and he was cranky. Remembering how much MOS was creaming himself about Carmichael in camp. Maybe he was tired of sitting on the bench watching Carmichael get roasted and asked to be released.
