Biden's approach seems to be we need to restore unity, grace, kindness etc with a cost of not keeping certain people accountable for their criminal and or immoral actions. I know he ran on the platform of Unity but it certainly is hard to stomach that certain people may be let off the hook for the greater good. Can't we do both, hold certain people accountable for their behaviours that have ran roughshod over America the last four years AND invest forward on mending fences and bringing people together? I understand the logic of having to look forward and not investing any energy in looking behind but c'mon man (said while breathing in and out of a paper bag).

This will be done.

In an America that the Trump administration left behind, the new administration has a lot of work to do. A lot.
There is so much to fix, and it will take time. He’s going to need co-operation from a lot of people and repairs are already being undertaken.

Can it be done Biden’s way?

Yes.

If Biden let's these crooks off the hook all that will happen is Republicans will sweep the midterms and next presidential election.

Silence is complicity and silence from the incoming Biden administration would signal that the GOP can do whatever they want with impunity. It would also mean that they see whatever Trump and his sycomphants did as licit, and open the floodgates all manner of election tampering and corruption. Precedent is very important in law.

Trump Pentagon Pick Suggested President Should Declare Martial Law Over Election ‘Coup’: ‘NOT A BAD IDEA’

Reuters
President Trump’s nominee for a senior post at the Pentagon has repeatedly spread false conspiracies about the 2020 election, reposting tweets that it was stolen from Trump as part of an attempted “coup” and that Trump should declare martial law, CNN reports. Texan Scott O’Grady, an ex-fighter pilot who’s been nominated for assistant secretary of defense for international security affairs, retweeted a post on Nov. 25 that falsely declared, “Trump won & Biden & his Comrades will now attempt a coup.” The tweet featured a doctored photo of Biden with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Several days later, he reposted a tweet suggesting it was time for Trump to invoke martial law. “I don’t know who needs to hear this,” the post read, “But calling for martial law is not a bad idea when there is an attempted coup against the president and this country happening right now.” That same account also posted an article about former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn calling for martial law in a petition, which O’Grady shared as well.

Unless Dems win both run-off seats and gain control of the Senate, we will not see Trump prosecuted. Even if they do, he will have his hands full with many things and may not want to distract Congress with a political pissing match. If the Dems want to enact true change and bring a scorched earth policy to crush all the Republican corruption and enabling, they first need the clear majority mandate not to lose power in 2 years. So gain the Senate first, then open up voting laws to ensure a maximum participation of voters and elimination of gerrymandering and the electoral college. Then they will have a solid long term base of the majority of voters and can make change without much fear of reprisal. Only then can they safely engage in Trump payback, which would be more for show than actual punishment anyway. They may be content to let NY state take a run at the Donald, and let Rudy and Roger Stone and Steve Bannon slink back under hero respective rocks of irrelevance once they have no true influential power.

The DOJ and the individual states can go after Trump. They don't need the Senate for that.

The problem you're going to have is that you need legislation that will stand up the the Supreme Court. Right now, nothing the Dems put forward for electoral reform will not pass the alt-right court.

The electoral college is going to be near impossible to remove without bilateral support and there is no way you're going to get smaller state senators of either party to support it.

A normal interview? Who can remember those?

Apparently McConnell has decided to make things as difficult as possible for Biden, so reaching out to the GOP will be futile, and a sign to the GOP that Biden is weak. Prosecuting Trump and his followers to the full extent of the law ought to give them some pause.

I think Rev. Warnock will beat Loeffler no problem, Osoff has a good chance against Perdue, only then can Biden have any effect but being 50/50 with the VP on the Dems side Biden will have to be careful with his side.

Biden is being diplomatic in terms of McConnell he knows his Presidency goes nowhere with him as majority leader, play the game and let the House committee's go after Trump and his cronies and show the American public and yes even his followers what a failed and crooked administration they liked and how it affected them

People didn't turn out en masse to support Biden, they did it to oust the mob boss in the big chair. They don't do something to make sure Republicans know this is unacceptable and voters will just stay home going forward because nothing matters.
