Yes and the officials were responsible for over a 10 minute difference in time of possession, giving up over 100 yards rushing and one WR running around uncovered for an entire game? You want a Conspiracy ? Watch the movie Conspiracy Theory with Mel Gibson.

Big game for Nichols here in Bomberland. If Nichols falters and the Al's beat us things will get ugly for the poor guy might quick. I just hope the good folks remember that 1 - Montreal has a great defense and 2 - this is only Nichols second start and second full week of practice. A poor showing today is no indicative of who he is. And he is, by far, our best choice as a backup to Willy and he is not a full time #1 guy.

Not sure what games you watch Goalie - but when Veltung was there he took it north / south and always gained postive yards. Stoudemire doesn't seem to be able to read his blocks very well, and he thinks he can outrun the coverage by going backwards all the time. I disagree here completely my friend.

Not sure why they aren't using Veltung back there. He was very good before Stoudemire came back and he's done absolutely nothing for us. Scary part is, just by sure dumb blind luck, he might return one for a TD then we get to listen to MOS say "I told you so". He can't even catch a pass. That's one guy who, when he gets cut, can't come too soon.

IC - in a league devoid of superstars, I find it very sad when any solid player goes down. Collaros was, by far, the best QB in the league this season and a runaway MOP winner this year (and he still may win it). Banks is dangerous and exciting to watch whenever the ball gets in his hands.

When I went to the game here (where they pretty much blew us out - Edmonton) every time we kicked to Banks I was on the edge of my seat. Mind you the Eskies kept him in check, but you never knew with each kick what could happen. And it's a lot more fun watching a team stop a Banks then some no name scrub.

But that's just me I guess. I hated it when Willy got hurt, Durant, Crompton, Reilly, Lulay, Ray not starting the season now Collaros. Why would anyone want to watch pathetic football?

I'm not saying anything again, no one seems to listen. I've watched Nichols here for 6 years - I know exactly who he is and what he brings to the table. There's a reason why he's no longer here (in Edmonton) anymore. He's not a bad guy though, like I said before, he's miles ahead of any QB the bombers can recruit for the past 2 decades. That's why the Bombers continue to be the joke of the league

This drives me nuts. But I won't rag on the CFL officials. All officiating everywhere is like that. I remember a couple of years back - in hockey, last game of the year which was setting up the Oilers for yet another first overall pick. They were playing LA (in LA) and Horcoff was going in on goal and got high sticked in the mouth, he was bleeding and the whole bit. Ref was staring right at it. No penalty. Few minutes later, an Oiler put a slight hook on a King for about .5 seconds (literally) and that same Ref called a hooking penalty. Really? Lucky for them the game was in L.A. Meaningless game for the Oilers - the Kings needed the win IIRC to make the playoffs (and they won the Cup) but how can an official get away with that?
All I've asked for in my officiating is consistency. If it's a penalty on one team (or one player) then the call should be made both ways. One day we'll have robotic refs - won't that be sweet.

I've been watching Nicols for 6 years here. I know what he brings and I know the type of Qb he is. He's now hitting his prime. He's a lot better than any QB the bombers have recruited from the US (not from other CFL teams) since Sean Salisbury and prior to Danny Mac - that's why we're the joke of the CFL. As for the rest - you guys figure it out. I already know it.

Yep great point. I was against the wind and LH was just trying to kick it as far as he could, instead of concentrating on putting it to a corner (which he is usually good at). We say someone 'vacated' a lane but the punt cover team in the huddle knows where the ball (as in what side) is being kicked too - and it's never kicked 'in the middle'. There's just so many things going on during a punting play that we really don't know.

But that being said - 3 TD returns from punts and it's only the halfway mark is unacceptable, but so is our crappy defense (if you bothered watching the Eskie/Cal game - lots of two and outs there but didn't see a D get 'tired' - that "our D got tired in the second half" excuse a lot of you use around here is pure BS) and pathetic offense. At least we're consistent all across the board. Except for the fans - fans are still the best IMO.

I think we all were/are. I still am. I'm sick (and bored) of the merry-go-round we've endured over the past 10 seasons at CEO, GM, and mostly coach. I don't want a 'bum' in there forever, but I don't want to be changing them out every year either - I like to see them get enough rope to hang themselves with. MOS is starting on his rope unfortunately but he's Canadian and loyal to the game - both as a player and now as a coach - so I do want him to succeed and since he's our coach I want to see him succeed here.

I'm not implying Mike O'Shea is free of blame with the comment I'm about to make. Certainly that's not the case as everyone has a hand in as to why the team is in the state that it is right now.

That being said, with two weeks to prepare coming off a bye, if that's the best offensive game plan you can come up with, that should speak volumes about your offensive staff, and OC.

O'Shea's specialties, or whatever you want to call them are defense and special teams. For the most part, I think those facets of the game did rather well tonight.

Yep - not sure what happened tonight/today. Marve looked ok early but as the game wore on he got worse and worse. It could be because he hasn't started/completed a game prior to last week in since 2013 I believe due to all his injuries.

I still have no idea why Brian Brohm collects a paycheck as a pro QB. He is most definitely not a pro QB. The problem though is the Winnipeg Blue Bombers have no idea what a pro QB is. They have to wait for another team to sign one and  release him, because that's the only way we get any QB's with any kind of talent - though that doesn't always work as we got Brohm through Hamilton who were smart enough to dump his ass as soon as they could.

8 to 3 at half time, Calgary obviously made a few adjustments and, as usual, the bombers (regardless of who is coaching them) were unable to.

I hope one of the reporters asks MOS the question of the topic brought up here. I know I would. I would ask MOS point blank to explain to me how other teams can start raw, rookie, QB's and not only be competitive, but win games. And I would demand an answer from him - it's either his team can't recruit proper Qb's or his coaching staff can't develop them and put in a good game plan. I wouldn't buy the 'gotta watch the game film' either - again if I were a reporter and he said that I'd just comment to him he won't win another game if he can't make a decision on anything until 'after' he watches game film.

Sask is 0 - 8. B.C. is in turmoil and has the same record as us. Ottawa reminds me a LOT of us last year, great start but the real team is starting to emerge and IMO will not win more than two more games the rest of the way. Montreal is also in turmoil now that they have dumped Higgins and Popp has taken over, yet again.

I wouldn't go so far to say we are 'out of the playoffs' and I really don't think a 'Ricky Ray' would help us at all.

Lets just take a collective breath. Drew Willy is developing just fine. Look at what Collaros did after getting a concussion last year? Those six weeks off did him good and he's now the best QB in the league. Robert Marve is/will be fine as a temporary starter. If anything we should bring someone in to replace Brohm.

And btw - when injuries like this (to your starting QB) happen, it will make a decent team stronger and accelerate the growth of the team. a year from now we might be saying Willy's injury was the best thing to ever happen to the Bombers in recent years.

I really don't like these 'doom and gloom' threads. If you gave up the ghost every time your starter got hurt - the bombers of two years ago under Burke and Mack will start to look like a good team.

KptKrunch got a reaction from the watcher in Montreal Fires Higgins, Popp to be Interim HC
I'm surprised Higgins was let go. I still think he'd make a good GM (and that's what I wanted him for) and was surprised he did come back as a coach. Taking over a team when a 'legend' at QB retires, and a 'legend' at coach goes to the NFL (wondering here.... is Popp keeping Trestmans' seat warm for a return????) really is/was a no win situation for whomever was going to be the next head man there. I agree with Goalie that the Bombers probably said no to Higgins as I can't see Higgins (or anyone for that matter) preferring the Mtrl situation to Wpg's.

And why do some here insist on canning MOS? Hey, I get pissed at some of his decisions too - but IMO this team of ours, as I mentioned, it two years removed from, by far, the worst run 'pro' franchise is all of North America and quite possibly the world. I'm not over exaggerating. We have a rookie GM, rookie CEO, and rookie HC taking over (from last year) so I'm puzzled as to what the 'fire MOS' folks were expecting exactly.

I was/am expecting slow steady improvement and IMO we are much farther ahead then we were last year. Yes, we were blown out twice this year by Hamilton. But newsflash - and again I already said this - Hamilton is the #1 team in the league right now (it's not close) and have the best QB in the league right now (and again, it's not even close and Collaros as a lot of you know is the guy I wanted here and pined for and I was pissed when that 'release' and 'sign' thing happened before free agency) so there's no shame in that. Look what they did here to the Eskimos last night as proof as to how good they are.

Willy - very impressed this year with him. Last year after game 6 he was beat up and terrible. Why they left him in game after game is now answered for me. This year he's a different QB. He has learned. Even in the Hamilton beat down (prior to his leg being broke) he was still playing well and competing and wasn't nearly as terrible as he was last year during a game like that.
I see a bright future ahead of us - and some of you want to blow it up and start yet again? Give your heads a shake. You may turn out to be right in the long run but for now unless Trestman or Mike Riley are willing to come coach here I'm in MOS's corner
