Not to start anything here… 🙂

But as I recall, there were quite a few Liegghio defenders on this site last year… even after his debacle performance in the playoffs, including playing the single biggest role in us losing the Grey cup.

The only ones I was more irritated with at that time was the bomber brass. Why they went out and got Medlock after the Lirum 2015 season and then went out and got Castillo after realizing Leggio was pooping the bed in 2021 yet decide to stick with him in 2022…??

this after openly saying that both Medlock and Castillo we’re worth it because you cannot afford to be without a reliable kicker and hope to win a championship. They knew this! They acted on it twice before!

So, I am sorry my friends, MOS is the bomb in a lot of ways. But this weird loyalty thing really gets in the way sometimes. O’Shea still has to wear our failure to three peat in a significant way.

I mostly agree with you but you’re missing an extremely important point… bombers didn’t just say “no thanks” to Castillo after the ‘21 season… Edm offered him a boatload of money and it was completely understandable he would take it and we wouldn’t match… that said, a bunch of American kickers in ‘22 camp probably would’ve been a good idea

Some Bombers do their share of celebrations. After a turnover the whole defence runs to the end zone and poses for the cameraman, or even grab the camera and film. Oliviera does a ball spin or flex or first down signal. Willie J does a somersault or guitar windmill after a sack or stop. And the Bombers were one of the first to pioneer the dance celebration choreography back in 2000 and kept it up for a long while.

Personally I don’t care. I prefer the “act like you’ve been there” but no reason to be bothered by it. You don’t like the other team celebrating? Stop them. But let’s not pretend we are above it all and the only team that doesn’t do it, and only the other teams are participating.

Keep in mind the plays you’re referencing when the bombers celebrate… interception, first down, touchdown, sack… those are significant plays worth celebrating… what some are saying is it’s lame seeing a celebration after a routine play like a pass break up or 7 yard gain

    Sure you can.

One is a marquis quarterback and the reigning most outstanding player and the other is a guy you wouldn’t miss if he wasn’t in your lineup each week.

The CFL made a huge mistake Thursday and it’s not a good look.

Obviously your comment is tongue in cheek… but there is one major difference… the BC player still had the ball in his hand, thus making him eligible to be hit… still kid of amazed it wasn’t called on Collaros

Where exactly have you found dirt cheap McMahon tix?? The best I've seen so far is 65 unless you want the Family Fun Zone for 27 and even that is ridiculous for the absolute WORST stadium in the league. I've been hunting for this weekend but I pay less for my IGF tix, which is the absolute BEST stadium in the league.... So I'm not sure about "dirt cheap" at McMahon...

Buy the $27 seats… sit in the $65 section… I’m sure there won’t be too much competition for those seats

I got a question.  Here's a freeze-frame from the Demski TD.  How is our inside guy on the short side not offside?  The ball hasn't moved yet. When I saw it live I was sure the TD was coming back.

the Elk left-side DE was flagged on the play for offside, and yeah that guy moved early, but it looks like we got away with one ... unless I don't understand how offsides is called against waggling receivers.

It’s called a lucky break for the bombers… despite what some say, we get ‘em every now and then too 😁

Funny story: My soon to be father in law lives in Winnipeg, he wants my fiancé and I to come out for the Banjo Bowl. He’s obviously a huge Bombers fan, and says if the Riders keep the loss to 20 points, dinner is on him! My fiancé isn’t a huge football fan, so she says she wants free dinner regardless.

I’m hoping we can make it out, fiancé is in school, so it makes it tougher. But flying Calgary to Winnipeg might not be too tough.

Riders need to keep it within 20 points?? Sorry friend, there's no chance you're getting that free dinner!  😜

I can recall far lesser lesser 'roughing the passer' calls resulting in 15 yarders ....Protecting the qb's in this league is supposed to be the mantra.....that didn't happen.....When a qb. is down and you leap on him that's a penalty...That was as close a call to 'deliberate attempt to injure' as I have seen in awhile.....

even if you want to ignore the rulebook and use some common sense... we've seen multiple occasions of a players hand grazing the helmet called... we've seen multiple occasions of a player gently pushing the QB after he throws it called... the eye test alone tells you in was a - dare I use the word - unnecessary hit, which is therefore pretty easy to call unnecessary roughness... or simply, roughing the passer

Walker doesn't have the tenure to be nationalized.  They should be doing it with Bailey and Jeffcoat though.

fair... I thought Walker being in his third year had enough time... but anyways, I was just using a quick example to mirror what Edm is doing... you are right that Jeffcoat would probably be the ideal candidate,

  9. the lack of DL rotation makes me nervous... not just for in-game replacement... but for wearing out Jeffcoat (and Willie, for that matter) in the early-mid season... I'd rather Jeffcoat take lots of snaps off now and be ready to go 100% in November...

As for the NA rule... let me see if I have this correct... from Edmonton's perspective (because they are actually using it)... Ealy will "start" the game (i.e. play one snap) then sub out for Ceresna... then throughout the game, the can run Ceresna and Ealy for 23 snaps, as Ceresna would technically be subbing in for Canadian starter Nelson at that point... seems like something we should be using...

Flipping that over to us... we could list Walker as the NA... "start" Fox... then play 23 snaps with both of them as Walker would be subbing for Thomas...

Confirmed by Simoni himself. However, they did that in every practice all year according to him.

which actually kind of makes it funnier... it's probably a fairly innocent ritual, end each practice with a victory formation because the goal is to end each game that way... but word of it spreads and it starts to sounds like in their minds, they've already secured victory... Bombers start to hear about it... it adds motivation... and next thing you know, a storm's a brewin...

Just watched the recap of BanjoBowl 2019 and the Offence that we field today is so superior to that one (possible exception being the OLine) that it would make your head spin.

Even then, with Streveler (for Nichols), Augustine (for Harris), Peterman and the rest, we wiped the field with the Riders.

Dammit I need to get a lot of work done today... but now I'm tempted to do something else
