It's the root system.  Weeds have roots that are thicker and more importantly grow deeper.  People who water their lawns frequently create poor root systems for their grass.  Less frequent waterings encourages the roots to grow deeper in search of moisture, and in times of low precipitation these lawns will be more durable than lawns that are overwatered.  Over time a healthy lawn should overtake the weeds.  So they say.

I'm amazed at how SOME people have gone from happy to doom and gloom and smashing the panic button in the blink of an eye.

wow... some people need to step off the edge of the cliff.... this team definitely still has the potential to finish with 10 or 11 wins and make the playoffs.... this is just a speed bump.... I thought the defense looked worn down and beat up, most of the game... Ricky Ray took advantage, like any HOF QB would.... the offense wasn't clicking... no help from the protection, mostly poor blitz pick-up.... getting Nick Moore back should help a bit.... the time off should do us some good... I didn't think the reffing was terrible beginning to end... there were just two obvious, game-changing, horrible calls... seems when a game gets close the calls will always go in Ontario's (and Mtl) favour.... we'll see if Ottawa starts to get that benefit too...

To put up over 300 yards again when your running game is absolutely no threat at all is pretty impressive to me.
 
And again, Messam's 130 yards led to almost no points. They needed a passing attack to finish drives, and they didn't have it.  I'm encouraged by last night's game.

When did Grigsby ever have a hole yesterday? I am being serious here.

Messam in no way, shape or form, won the game for Sask., so why are we talking about him?
 
Turnovers were really the only reason we gave that game away.
 
Sask. could not get their offence to score more than FG…one FG!

Let's face it, for as lightweight of a show that Duck Dynasty is, it still has more worthwhile content in there than 99% of the junk that is on TV.

All that really matters is that they executed and made the play.  How many "high percentage" plays did we not make last year?
 
This team is believing in itself and making things happen.  Yeah they had a let down in the 2nd half, but came back when it mattered.  
 
Would the same people bitching about the play call be happy and singing the praises if they had called a "high percentage" play and missed on it?
 
Willy put that ball exactly where he had to.  Give him props for doing it and Grigsby catching it.  They made the play what it mattered most.

Regarding blackouts, I think they do more harm than good in places like Toronto and even Montreal. They need all the exposure they can get. They've talked a lot about how they lost a whole generation of fans partly due to not having all the games on TV for many years.
It's an outdated concept IMO. It's like passing up a 3 hour commercial for your product to the exact people you need to sell to.

Grigsby is still better than Ford.

I don't miss drunk idiots falling down the stairs and cussing out old ladies. It's nice going to games not half expecting to have to make a choice between getting in a fight or letting some meathead berate a woman.
Not saying it was just Section S, but the new atmosphere at games is fine by me. I've never seen anyone get "shushed" either.

Why is everyone getting so down about the attendance??? Even on 1290 yesterday I heard a few times the hosts of different shows talking about how they built the stadium too big because now they'll never sell out.
 
Last year's team was HORRIBLE. And as bad as the team was, their off-the-field PR took an even bigger hit. I'd say the public perception of the team was even worse than in the Mike Kelly aftermath (partially beacuse the Kelly fiasco was so recently and things started adding up).
 
So we're exactly 3 wins into the 5th rebuild in 10 years now and already back up to 30,000 fans? I'd say that's pretty darn impressive.

I'm a rural fan and even I think that's ridiculous. If Winnipeggers were fairweather fans this team would have run out of fans years ago.
 
I do, however, think that Winnipeggers are huge whiners Case in point: still complaining about the location of the Stadium. But fairweather fans they are not.
