Apparently it is not a secret that the Bombers both sucked and blew in the first half against Calgary, that Johnny Adams suffered a massive brain cramp and the "special teams" were anything but for the first half.

I think it cost us the win at both ends of the game- in the whole first quarter and in the last couple of minutes.

The prospect of the Riders beating the Argos fills me with mixed feelings- like seeing your car being driven off a cliff by your mother-in-law.

Just wait. Flanders opened a lot of eyes with his performance in that game and is now a known commodity.

That was a wonderful, compassionate gesture by Hufnagel and the Stamps organization. Kudos to them.

But Johnson had a very poor game and was victimized repeatedly.

Flanders showed pretty good hands yesterday as well. A nice problem to have.

There has to be a sort of seduction about being a second-half team. It would be tempting for players to not give their best at the start of the game on the assumption that they can always make it up in the second half. When up against a very good team ie: the Stamps, that can be fatal, and it was.

Another senseless, tragic death ending a young life leaving family and friends stunned.

And Calgary's TDs had nothing to do with the win? Adams' brain cramp likely cost us the game, and may well cost him his starter status.

Inconspicuous.

No argument from me on these choices, but honourable mention to Feoli-Gudino.

We came THAT close even with really bad punt/kick coverage and no deep threat. No reason to hang heads over this game.

The Bombers did great and much better than any sober fan dared hope. Nichols was floating the ball way more than he should have in the first half and the defense didn't bother coming out of the locker room until well into the game. Moreover, that was the worst our punt coverage has been since day one. Flanders did great and Feoli-Gudino was his usual clutch player. This was way more a win than a loss and I would bet Paredes would blow that FG 4 out of 5 times in the future.

Maybe its not too late to sign the Hansen brothers just for this game.

Plus, he dances well.

They are and will be inconsistent, at least for this season. The type of experience Jennings needs isn't going to be found outside of live-fire games. But they do look to be beatable, especially to a ball-hawking defense like the Bombers. Jennings' inexperience leads him into trying to force the ball.

Can't imagine the euphoria in River City if the Bombers squeak one out. All the planets would have to be perfectly aligned and the footyball gods would all have to be on our side. We're gonna see how Nichols does in crunch time.

Even in the NFL the best linebackers get smeared at times, and Bass will probably suffer the same fate, but if it happens consistently during the game, its gonna be a long game and an ugly one to boot. The Bomber DL have to keep Calgary O-linemen off Bass.

Willy did look jittery at first but did settle down and make a few nice passes. We ought to get a better idea of how he is going to fare after next game. Lefevour had better check into how sub-letting apartments works here in Canada.
