  1. http://www.tsn.ca/who-could-use-kevin-glenn-at-the-cfl-trade-deadline-1.376235 Nailed it.
  2. That's a reference to a certain member of the Possum Lodge.
  3. Glenn may be a good fit for the Alouettes- he will have a decent O-line, good receivers and consistent if not great coaching. Glenn has been the target of some unfair criticism's and if not for a broken arm, he would have had a Grey Cup ring. He has kept his bitching to a minimum even when shuttled around through no fault of his own. He has the charisma of a shovel but he is fundamentally sound.
  4. Fixed that for you. Mustn't be sexist, you know.
  5. Anyone is vulnerable to be traded if the deal is good enough, but Hajrullahu has all kinds of potential, and he's young, but his stock has fallen dramatically over the season, so we probably wouldn't get a good NI starter back for him anyways. Who else besides Sask and Ottawa needs a kicker?
  6. I believe it should be 10 days (to clear waiver) after his release so it would be next Sunday. Probably will be too late for us this year, but he would be at least as welcome as Westerman.
  7. If I recall correctly O'Shea dialed it up for one game last year as well at which time many were convinced he'd turned the corner. Unfortunately that was an illusion and he reverted to the same passive/aggressive Mike we have seen most of this season. In the post-game interview with Bob Irving, Mike said that "play-off mode" could not be sustained over a number of weeks if it wasn't actually true, stating that it was "too much" to ask the players to believe it week after week. I think O'Shea in some ways is too honest with his players and lacks the acting skills necessary to play the heavy motivator to get an elevated performance out of this team. The D seems to be responding to the challenge but the O is still floundering and doesn't seem to have the ability to rise to the next level even if they wanted to. O'Shea said that the players could not be expected to crank it up enough to challenge for a playoff spot for more than a short period?!?!?!?
  8. I'm worried the Als trade for Glenn this week. That'd make them the favourites for the last playoff spot. If the Als had any kind of decent quarterbacking today, they could have won. Even Cato would have given them a chance, so maybe Kevin Glenn should start packing.
  9. So long as our fate is in our hands, we will have nothing to complain about. If it gets to the point where you have to hope other teams screw up worse than you do, you are in trouble.
  10. Harris certainly didn't look as dominant this year as previously, so either he is not being used properly, his heart is not in it, or his O-line sucks (there's a lot of that going around). He would be welcome here for sure.
  11. So long as Bellefeuille is calling the offense, we will never know how good Nichols can be. It has to be really chafing for a decent quarterback to be forced to run a popgun offense when he can see how better plays could make big yards and win games.
  12. Dare we hope? I volunteer to drive down, pick him up and ferry him back to the "Peg.
  13. There was really no reason for Lirim to be replaced until last week. Hajrullhu was getting worse each successive week. Last game was just a progression.
  14. Nope. Stevedore Steve.
  15. And it took how long for this to come to pass?
  16. haha you think some drunken fans get rowdy during losses now... imagine this scenario! But it would make for some memorable games, even if the Bombers lost badly.
  17. This is not a given. Ottawa can field a playoff team as a two year old expansion and other teams have turned things around in a couple of year with the right people in charge, so who knows? If Tillman returns and the Riders make the playoffs next year, I will be apoplectic.
  18. Oooh! Oooh! Oooh! Pick us! Pick us!
  19. Thanks. This forum was beginning to sound like the old OBB forum. The ad hominem attacks were multiplying.
  20. Walters has not been spectacular but has made some good moves: Westerman, Wild, Darvin Adams, Nichols etc but not enough to qualify for GM of the year. He merits another year in the GM office.
  21. Wasn't there a folk song about him from way back?
  22. I don't understand this. Are you implying that they're better simply because they're catching more touchdowns? Is that sort of thing even legal?
  23. No doubt in the history of the CFL there have been hard coaches who have been saddled with assistants who were not of their choices, but if any candidate for head coach agreed to that he would deserve the disaster which inevitably would follow. I not longer have a high opinion of O'Shea as a head coach, but I do not think he would be dumb enough to accept that. Good or bad, O'Shea is the master of his own fate.
  24. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
  25. And the other sub-par games before that?
