  1. And don't forget about Crump and Czap.
  2. It is starting to look like second place in the West will go to whomever has a healthy quarterback. When I saw Reilly go down for the second and final time in the game, it felt like watching Willy get hammered in the Labour Day Classic against Sask. Thank God Walters and O'Shea went whole-hog (sorry, Denny and Buck) on upgrading the Bomber O-line.
  3. Gotta be Marshall with Hammy's depleted d-line.
  4. Oh no! How can we cope without having a place to bicker?
  5. Rider fans have never hesitated in anointing themselves as the best fans in Canada and never talk about the crappy managing, coaching and players they accepted for decades.
  6. Even if it ain't broke, you fix it anyways.
  7. It was obvious that Portis had shown that he had hit his ceiling and it wasn't high enough. From the short video clip, Davis looks like he's a run-first quarterback and in the CFL, that isn't a compliment. Posey: meh.
  8. No one ought to revel in another team's player being injured, much less a potentially career-ending injury. When an injury that severe happens, it also impacts the player's person life with chronic, depressing pain.
  9. With Durant hors de combat for the rest of the year, Chamblin will probably get a mulligan for 2015.
  10. I'm not sure if it has been mentioned already but the Freep today reported that the Bombers' D gave up almost 500 yards. Ouch-can't let that happen again or we're hooped.
  11. This is a "suck it up" year for the Argos and we are going to have to put up with it just like when the Ti-Cats were essentially homeless.
  12. As a mark of Durant's committment to "his" team, I believe someone posted a picture of him leaving the stadium well before the end of the game.
  13. I'm betting that Durant is done, and Reilly must be pretty close to that as well. And one more owie for Lulay and he becomes a statistic.
  14. As satisfying as this win was, I suspect that the D-line and linebackers will be the subject of much discussion this week among the coaches and Walters. We need more push up the middle and better contain from the linebackers. I don't know if we can hang all the problems on Hurl if the Sask O-line were getting off the line cleanly and burying the linebackers.
  15. The score is all that matters, and better yet, we came out pretty much unscathed. Let all and sundry complain- we got what we wanted.
  16. Time waits for no man, and Durant, Ray and Burris are rapidly slipping into the rear-view mirror. The future belongs to the young, and the Willy's, and the Harrises. Clubs who do not accept that are, well, Montreal.
  17. My guess is that at least one of the current stable of QB's has underwhelmed the coaches and is vulnerable to being cut/traded.
  18. Running backs about the same? Last year we relied on a guy who couldn't do any of the basics well and our offense was basically one dimensional, leading to our quarterback getting killed because teams didn't have to respect the run at all. This is a huge difference coming into this season. We had no boundary wideout last season and relied on Aaron Kelly and Romby Bryant for stretches last season. Maybe you don't like Darvin Adams, but the receivers are better. Moving Watson out doesn't have much impact because he basically became a glorified tight end who could barely move around the field. Feoli-Gudino is probably better at this point. The caveat is that we haven't seen any of these newcomers in action yet. Last year, we thought that Moore, Kelly and Grigsby would really spark the offense, so I looked at how the team measured up now VS this point last season.
  19. I am not as hopeful coming out of training camp as I was going into it. Most of the players I thought would impress are either gone or on the PR, and some of the weaknesses we had last year are still there or still question marks. Quarterbacks- same as last year Running backs- about the same Receivers- about the same O-line- vastly improved D-line- marginally better Linebackers- a big question mark and a real concern considering Sask's willingnes to run and run effectively D-backs- about the same Special Teams- about the same Coaching- damned well ought to be better All this said, we still should be able to beat the Riders today, and I can't imagine how devastating a lop-sided loss would be to team confidence.
  20. Where can I purchase some of this Cato Check with Britt Reid.
  21. Wow! The Alouettes are in big trouble and many here predicted that they would go into a tailspin as soon as Calvillo pulled the plug. When Calvillo signed in Montreal he'd already had his baptism of fire with other teams and Popp got very, very lucky. There was no succession plan here so Popp deserves what he gets. This train was coming for years and Popp did not get out of the way. Don't think Mr. Popp is going to be sleeping well for awhile.
  22. Say what? Mea culpa. Mea maxima culpa.
  23. The worst complaint of them all. Actually, for Regina this is a good thing. The closer that you get to the city limits, the better.
  24. Why do you feel that the coaches don't like JFG? My impression is that O'Shea loves him and I believe JFG is slated to start this week. 'Cause he so rarely gets on the field despite producing when he does.
