So can we all safely assume that MB is axed the day after the Grey Cup?

I'm a little disappointed we couldn't get a stand from the defense when we needed it at the end.  It's Liram's fault first, offense second obviously, but still it wouldn't have been nice to limit the Eskies to less than 30 yards and keep them out of field goal range.

Who were the individuals who came back for more after abuse?  You do realize that sexual predators can have power over individuals they abuse right?  Blame themselves, might come back to the predator thinking the abuse will stop if they are the ones that change their behaviour, not the abuser.  
 
I remember hearing from Theo Fleury being asked why he hired Graham James to be coach of the Calgary Hitman after suffering years of abuse at his hands, and his reponse was, "That's the kind of power he had over me."
 
The reason other people come forward after the initial charge is filed is not jumping on the bandwagon to get noticed, it's because someone took the courageous step to come forward knowing the risks involved - damage to their professional careers, embarrassment of having details of their private moments revealed to public, being doubted (like in this forum with some of the subtle or not-so-subtle misogynistic comments) and ridiculed.  Those others know they are not alone in their suffering at the hands of the predator.  I can only imagine the stress involved in coming public with something like this and I'm sure many victims would rather suffer in silence - not worth the trouble to go public in many minds.

Side note about Grey Cup Week: I'm a fan of the announcement that the 3 "Manitoban" craft brewers will be the official beer outside of the game itself, to which Labatt has exclusive rights. But all the socials and different events will feature Fort Garry, Half Pints and Farmery, which is only partly Manitoban. As a big craft beer junkie, this is fantastic news.

It's worth noting that Oiler tickets to most games have been had for considerably less than face value the past 2 - 3 seasons on sites such as StubHub.  I heard this from a few posters on the Oilers page of the HfBoards.

It was an entertaining game and we were in it until the end.  The better and more deserving team won though, no question about it.  Dominated the time of possession and total yards.  Questionable calls were not the downfall of the Bombers,  the lack of offense in the second half was.

Mistakes are made by refs all the time, always will be.  
 
As a Bomber fan, it is frustrating as hell to watch that happen in the final minutes of a game.   But if you take a step back and look at it, if one play like that means we miss the playoffs, we don't really deserve to be in the playoffs.
 
Meaning the Bombers have squandered many other chances in many other games to put themselves in a position where a call like that could have such a profound impact.  You can really blame all those other plays and squandered opportunities just as much as a missed call.

Well, the verdict is in and my son said that he really liked the game and thought that the stadium was great.  He even wore the Bomber hat.   Another soul will wear the blue and gold and feast on disappointment and tears.  I don't know if I should be happy or not, but at least I'll have someone to share the driving with!

The gambling angle doesn't make sense.  No way the Stamps could cover 9.5 by that point.

I know he won't be fired until the end of the season, but here is yet another game that serves as a damning indictment of Marcel's offensive game plan.  270 total yards and only 90 yards in the entire second half.  Third quarter was horrible with no really attempts to stretch the field with intermediate or long passes - something that worked in the first half.
 
Calgary's defense is not that great, certainly not elite like Edmonton's or hamilton's so I really don't think 270 yards can be considered a solid effort by the offense.  With Marcel at the controls I don't see this team gaining 300 yards of offense against the Eskies.  Defense will really have to bring it next week.

What kind of business could survive if it's best employees decided to leave after one year, every year?  I swear these one year contracts are going to be the death of the CFL.  It's seriously diminishes the value of the league when the best players become so transient it makes little sense forming any attachment to them.  It seems to be the antithesis of sports marketing and the promotion of "star" players.  Without continuity on the roster the fans will become as transient as the players.  "We know how much you enjoyed our product last year so we've completely changed it  this year!"  Brendan Taman and his short-lived Rider dynasty is a notable example.
 
The NFL used to at least be CFL friendly with a hands-off approach to it's players in the interest of promoting the game of football.  Now it seems they are more interested in exploiting it as a farm system and harvesting the fan base as well.

Letting folks have another year when they haven't been producing is a bigger problem than firing them and starting over. Assuming we don't make the playoffs, and quite frankly that's a pretty good assumption... Hanging on to O'Shea and the rest of the coaches for another year to see if they improve will end up being like hanging on to Mack for that last year to see if he improved. Same results should be expected.

Yet there are some here who still defend Joe Mack and would have been willing to give him as long as he needed to build a consistent winner...which he never would have done.

That's sort of the point actually... they think that, and it's part scary and part sad that they actually believe it. Mexicans do the jobs in the states that the average american just won't do because it's beneath them so the whole they took our jobs thing is just crap to begin with. It's exactly the same as people here saying that temporary foreign workers are taking all the jobs. Not true. No one wants to work at Tim Hortons and no contrary to popular belief they won't raise the wages they pay if they didn't have TFWs.
