Captain Blue got a reaction from blitzmore in Alex Hall Traded
Apparently I'm in the minority but I think Walters did pretty darn good for this one. Hall was a goner - and the rest of the league knew it. Giving up the second rounder sucks, but they clearly think this linemen is at least decent.
Walters got value (Neufeld) for very little (essentially a second round pick).

Captain Blue got a reaction from Jpan85 in Selinger promising to put fan-elected board in place
This might be the worst Bomber idea I've ever heard. That is not hyperbole.
Meet your new organization...
CEO: Gary Lawless
GM: Duane Forde
HC: Matt Dunigan, who after four games will get fired then replaced by Greg Marshall, who will then after his four games be replaced by Khari Jones. Now since Jones is still loved, he'll get five games before getting canned. Then we'll replace him with Tim Burke, because everyone knows he just didn't get a fair shake from Mack and is secretly a brilliant head coach in waiting.
---
I'm aware that a fan board wouldn't have this type of control. The lesson here is still that it would be nothing more than an utter trainwreck. To put it bluntly, fans are dumb and make bad decisions. Listen to any radio call-in show and imagine their ideas on this team. I can see them bickering at the board meeting now..."We need to hire the first guy that promises to bring in Casey Printers at QB..."
This idea better burn to death immediately.

Captain Blue got a reaction from comedygeek in Who Gets Fired?
New person, same debate. Why do you guys need media statements issued after everything? Of course he had a lot to say when he got hired. He had just fired a GM and promoted a new one.
If he doesn't say anything, people complain that he's hiding, not fulfilling his role, etc...
If he does say something, what exactly is he supposed to say? "Yes Bomber fans, I thought we sucked too?" How exactly does that benefit the organization at all? And look out if he dare say anything positive, because then the media will turn their faux-outrage up another 80%.
Miller's job is to hire the right people and then get the heck out of the way. He will have to engage the media at various points throughout his tenure; providing bi-weekly updates is not required.

Captain Blue got a reaction from Blue-urns in Burke
At this point Burke has thrown so many people under the bus that the wheels are no longer touching the ground.
He's not a leader at all.

Between Pierce, Burke and Lawless it's almost like you're in love with the holy trinity of inability.

Captain Blue got a reaction from Blue-urns in Lawless Says Trade Henoc For A QB
So many things wrong with the article that. I don't think Lawless even attempts to put thought into them anymore.

Captain Blue got a reaction from johnzo in Bombers moving to the West next year
When you are 2-8 there shouldn't need to be more urgency to build a better team. Sorry, not buying it.
Wade Miller isn't sitting in his office going "Oh, we're in the West now? **** I guess this team does need to improve quickly."

Captain Blue got a reaction from comedygeek in Kyle Walters
I watched the first half for the first time today. After listening to the radio rip him up and the comments on here, I was expecting Goltz to be awful. Frankly I don't think it was terrible.
He had a pass literally go right through Edwards' hands, who was as usual about to argue for a flag. Later he had a throw smack right off Kohlert's shoulder pads when the WR took his eyes off the ball. Near the end of the half he made a decent albeit under thrown ball that Denmark couldn't catch in the end zone (the throw wasn't good and it would have been a hard catch, but still it was almost a completion).
What I thought he struggled with was knowing when to throw the ball away. I felt that way last week too. I want to see him get the ball out when the blitz is on. Sometimes he still tries to scramble even when there isn't an open lane. It would help if our offensive line didn't completely just fall over anytime there's a blitz.
Right now the goal should be to keep Goltz upright and see if that makes this a lot prettier. My guess is you'll see a big improvement.
For now I still think he makes the best decisions of any QB on the roster, and provides added versatility with his feet. We can be successful with him.

Captain Blue got a reaction from Blue-urns in Buck Pierce traded for Akeem Foster
I have nothing against Buck Pierce the person. Hopefully things work out for him in his personal and professional life after football.
But I HATE Pierce the QB. I am more excited about this move than the win. This team kept wanting to ride the Pierce roller coaster so much and all it did was make everyone vomit. This move is one that puts the franchise on the right rebuild track.

Captain Blue got a reaction from Blue-urns in Buck Pierce traded for Akeem Foster
This is the freaking steal of a decade. Pierce had the trade value of a used football...and not even one that was gently used.
I LOVE what Walters has done so far. He's winning me over, and quickly. If he promises to get rid of the coaching staff, I might be sold on him.

Captain Blue got a reaction from Atomic in Lions cut Elliot
If the argument was that Buono saw something in him, then that's shot down now. Elliott had potential but made a lot of mistakes. Thought he made a lot of poor decisions on field. I'd rather we just keep searching...

Captain Blue got a reaction from Blue-urns in Irving says...
/puts on Bomber jersey and paints his face
What if Walters is actually the best candidate? How many CFL guys have his knowledge of the Canadian game, it's players and the CIS system? There are other interesting candidates, but we know that the easier part of this job is finding the Americans. Mack's downfall wasn't the American talent (though it is apparent that isn't as good as I initially thought) but rather his inability to find a QB, a HC and Canadians (a group that improved with Walters running the show).
/wipes paint off
I'm not saying give him the job. I'm not even in favour of having him run this club. I don't think it's nearly as crazy as it seems though.

Captain Blue reacted to The Unknown Poster in Burke: Happy with Buck's play on Saturday
To say Burke knows nothing about offence is taking his words far to literally.
If any person posting here feels they know something about football offences, then OBVIOUSLY a long time football guy knows something about football offences, even if he is primarily a defensive-minded coach.
Immediately after the game, the media analyzing the game on the post-game show said the same quasi-postive remarks about Buck. I mean really, between Goltz and Buck does the majority want Goltz to start? I don't see why.
Hall deserves to start when he's healthy. Buck should be the back up.

Captain Blue got a reaction from rebusrankin in Burke: Happy with Buck's play on Saturday
This is such flimsy reasoning. Weak. You can see with your OWN EYES that Buck isn't playing well. Do you also believe everything politicians tell you? Or that lawyers are always telling the truth? I sure hope so, because unless you can show me your law degree or that you're secretly Stephen Harper we should all just close and eyes and accept what they say as gospel.
