Some random thoughts in no particular order...
Half time adjustments. It was clear as day that adjustments were made on both sides of the ball. Half time adjustments, specifically, lack thereof has killed us in years past. Pass protection was significantly better in the 2nd half. Run defence was significantly better too.
Tommy Condell vs Jason Hogan. For those that haven't heard, I'd encourage you to listen to Zach on the post-game show. He was beaming when asked about the offence after the game. Also, Strevvy was live-tweeting during the game yesterday and made a comment about how our receivers were wide open in the intermediate game. That was sorely missing last year, as was just a solid flowing offensive game plan.
The wind - as mentioned by Noeller (also Zach on the post game), this was not a consistent wind throughout the game. I know people on this forum think Osh is an idiot (you're telling on yourself for thinking this, just for the record) but the wind was unpredictable and the team still found a way. The times Osh has in the past decided to kick twice in favour for a fourth quarter wind has usually worked well in our favour. While we didn't have the wind in the fourth, we still found a way. No one bats 1.000
Tommy Nield - Despite the one drop, looked very solid. Nice to have another capable National receiver. I look forward to seeing what he does as he gets more reps in the offence.
Looking ahead - Very much Looking forward to Thursday against Hamilton. I would imagine Tim White has a chip on his shoulder. If we can keep Kenny to a respectable number receiving, I like our chances. Hopefully the forecast changes as it looks like crap for the end of the week, Thursday included.
Two points I forgot:
Perkins looks like a natural in short yardage. For CFL rookies, short yardage can sometimes be an adventure. When we went for it around our own 20 or 25 with a full yard and he was able to convert, that to me indicated the coaches have all the trust in the world in him to be able to convert.
Long snapping: Two snaps on field goals were less than ideal. Kudos to our holder for being able to dig it out of the turf and get it pinned for Sergio without interrupting his rhythm of the kick.

Jake Ceresna. Pretty quiet on the first few series. Absolute animal the rest of the way. Really opened things up for Willie and I'm sure as they get more comfortable with each other it will open up more as the year goes on.
Trey Vaval. His return helped flip the game and him letting the ball go over his head and out of the back of the endzone before the final drive was a premier example of knowing the rules and great special teams coaching.
Brady. Just rock solid. Also loved the usage by Condell given his pass first tendencies on first down historically.
HH: Offensive line. Pretty underwhelming first half. Second half pass protection was a night and day difference and a TREMENDOUS blitz pick-up on the deep pass to Pokey to start the final drive.

He went 8-10 with Hamilton the year after Masoli left with two prior Grey Cup visits and they had Dane Evans (who we broke) and Matt Shiltz as their quarterbacks, then went 8-10 again the next year after they brought Bo to town and he only played a third of the season. Then he went 4-14 last year with Dru Brown and the QB carousel in Ottawa.
Nowhere near as bad as JBR made it sound.
James Franklin lol. I remember when he was supposed to be the "next big thing". That was cute.
Appreciate the breakdown. That's much better, clearer context.

Just now, JuranBoldenRules said: Condell has as many 4-14 seasons on his record as +.500 ones.
So the experience is there....but the results throughout his career have been mostly unimpressive. He's no guru.
4-14 years with ZC as his QB? Not being a wise ass - Genuinely asking.
If the QB loves the system, and by all accounts, Zach does, that's good enough for me.

With significant changes on the line this year, it may take time for the starting five to gel - However, pound Brady until that happens, and even when it does, time for more Brady ball. His usage last year by Hollywood Hogan was criminal.

It's not a given that you have to purchase their whole package, containing NFL, Soccer, etc... it's a very real possibility that there will be a cheaper "CFL Only" option. So we shall see... If it was like 5-10 bucks/month for just the CFL, then I might... Just to support the league and see what their product looks like.
Along the same vein - When I was having my morning coffee earlier today, I was watching the latest Handled Internally podcast that had both ZC and Gabe Wallace on it. Darren Cameron mentioned roughly 7 minutes in that Wade Miller is working on special Bomber season ticket pricing for the DAZN package (details to come at a later date), so that definitely at least made me curious what that will look like when/if that comes to fruition.

I think we're going to be fine. Week 1 - Okay Vernon Adams has carved us a new A-Hole once or twice in the past. Who knows how that will pan out
Week 2 - Home opener, Hamilton. Doesn't really scare me
Week 3 - Bye
Week 4 - Home Edmonton. Dub
First month, done. No reason we can't be at least 2-1 IMO.

Some common sense. Finally.
Holy F! Aside from Sergio, who of relevance played today? Almost nobody. Take a pill, relax. If you saw the depth chart and expected a different result tonight, you can't be helped lol.

Well this isn't the States - And further to that, the CFL isn't even in the same stratosphere when it comes to the NFL. My season tickets on a per game basis is cheap than a DAZN subscription. Paying that, for one game a week? No thank you. The CFL should be making it easier for it's fans to consume the product, not more difficult.

She called Paul Friesen "vile and souless" lol.

Bailing without even giving it a go in preseason is just 10 ply soft.
Guy can barely hit 50 per cent of his passes and produces more turnovers than a bakery. I'm sure the eight other CFL clubs will love the leadership skills he so clearly has....
