oh man this ******* defense is stupid af

Absolutely moronic play call by Hall under the circumstances. Poorly executed by the corner as well, when that is the call. Don't overpursue. Stop, get in proper form and just make the tackle at the 40(ish) and allow a gain of 2 or 3 instead of a house call.

    Camera man is awful tnite

Terrible camera work and the director in the truck wasn't much better. Missed the Elks fumble that JJ recovered.

    Jeezus, the panel.

Bush league. The presentation of the NFL vs CFL is brutal. I get you want to relay to the audience what was happening was shocking, but the panel was amateur hour.

    Almost halftime thoughts:

This sucks. Refs suck. Edmonton doing nothing special.
Even with Zach out, this is far from over.

Best post of the first half.

Take Bighill off the field.  WTF

Really wish we had an up and coming MACK waiting in the wings for 2024...

Of course, TSN is making Forde out to be as superstar.

Made me LOL too. Showing replays as if he did something significant on the Elks first big run.

Like when he only won five games his first year, Osh just smiles. I really would love to see him tear the paint off the walls when his team plays as bad as this. It's always okay.

Never too high, never too low. This is why we're as successful as we are.

I wonder if Geno Lewis ever questions chasing the money this season…

He’ll likely have a similar wake-up call to Kenny Lawler next season.

I need to confess to a rare L. I said in the off-season I would have preferred Geno Lewis over Kenny Lawler due to the way Geno runs routes. Stupid me, even if Kenny is apparently playing with a chip on his shoulder.

Funny considering how it all turned out in the end...

Biggie had no idea where that play was going

Way too much of that from him this season. Some jaw dropping gaffes at various points.

Well, can’t blame the roster management for looking gassed on the first offensive play of the game.

LOL, had this exact thought when it happened.

  5. 1. Dru Brown. Came into the game like he was Randy Marsh carrying around some wheelbarrow balls. IYKYK.

    2. Brady O. On pace for 1,400 yards. Aside from the rough start he had in his first full year as a starter in the first half of that season, Brady has been beyond fantastic. He proves Walters and Co right every game when it comes to whether or not the team was right in moving on from Andrew Harris.

    3. The team demeanor. Throughout all of the camera shots of the benches, one thing was very telling. Who was the veteran, disciplined team and who wasn't. Was 22-0 fun? Nope. But the bench wasn't panicking or having a temper tantrum. The Elks bench meanwhile was on cloud nine. As the game turned, our demeanor remained the same meanwhile you saw more and more clips of Elks players and coaches losing their cool and having their emotions get the best of them.

Never too high, never too low. One of the main things I love about our coaches and players. Trust the process and more often than not, we'll be on the winning side.

HH: BOO. Absolutely loved him finding a spot to get open towards the sideline on the Randy Marsh...ahem...Dru Brown scramble drill. Really stepped up after Woli went down.

But you can also see, logically, how the lack of DL rotation had the line gassed in the 4th and arguably cost us in a tight game.......? I don't disagree that we should have won that game "going away" but the fact is it was tight at the end, and if our DL was fresher, there's a good chance they shut Crum down on those runs. It's both things being discussed here.

Lots of things went wrong that drive. Absurdly soft coverage by both corners allowed Crum to play pitch and catch on that series, and Bighill's absolute comical whiff at the 10 yard line (or so) on Crum were brutal. I just think blaming that game as a whole on roster management when you consider everything that happened that game, IMO, is an extreme exaggeration.

Time and time again, O'Shea preaches execution. If we do our job and execute, the game isn't close.

You don’t think it will cost us games? Wouldn’t the Ottawa game be a perfect example?

Perfect example of twisting a narrative to suit your point. If either one of Schoen not dropping that deep pass for a sure touchdown, or Zach not throwing behind Woli late in the fourth happens, we win the game. That's a 14 point swing and has absolutely nothing to do with game day roster management.

Just because it wasn't an issue this game doesn't mean it doesn't suck.

We won by by over 30 points over the second best team in the CFL and have been to three straight championships. Forgive me for trusting those that have put us in position to get to those championships over people with Doritios stains on their finger tips.

Cui needs to go to the league and beg for a special disposition. Pay a fine for going over the coaching limit or something. The League needs the Elks to be relevant and that won't happen if they can't move on from Jones and his crew.

Probably would be the best thing for Edmonton - pay whatever the fine would be for going over the coach cap, similar to SMS. Do whatever you need to do for a fresh start, consequences be damned.
