Can it be they plan to run a lot of schemes with the FB lined up for additional blocking help - ie spying Betts? Lions certainly exposed our O-line as old and slow in the first game. Bombers certainly miss Janarion Grant for field position on returns. Here's hoping we see the good Winston Rose. Should be a real slobberknocker! Go Blue!

he was in an NFL camp last yr...undrafted invite...Stove was a rookie guy who literally was never in a camp...panned out well...half the guys who come up here and excel are straight outta school...with minimal pro camp experience....doesn't mean much
If he has half a brain and can grasp the concepts...has physicals skill no reason why he can't slide in on rotation if he in game shape

They announced the change to fighting hawks in 2015 but officially switched in 2017. This is my hometown team! There are actually 5 guys currently in the CFL from UND, which is why I started watching. We have 2 of them: Olivera and Holm. Green and white forever, baby.

A lot of talk about different dbs being bad this year. And each guy has had highs and lows. Some like Darby more lows than highs. The young guys in general have our performed the old guys. 
 But the guy that stands out to be me is BA. He hasn’t been remotely the same since his injury. He’s gotten too much into the habit of selling out for hits, but he went from an elite deep cover guy to none existent. We are having to play dbs in run fits more than ever because we don’t have a nose. But even in pure pass calls he can’t seem to get over to help on deep shots. Instead of getting in on the wr or the ball to make a play, he at best gets into the trail position and doesn’t provide much cover help. 
 Last night I saw him give up a couple times from behind where he would’ve been able to run into the back end of plays and make score saving tackles in the past. 
Maybe he’s struggling with the adjustments, maybe he’s not healthy. But he went from the straw that stirs the drink in our secondary to ineffective in pass coverage. 
 And I’m not talking about ranging half or the whole field. He’s not getting into position from with in his third or less. 

1. DL - sacks, and hurries that led to rushed throws. Eventually adjusted their run stopping
2. ZC. Got hit a lot tonight. Still same old steady hand at the controls. 231 passing yards.
3. OL. The 9 minute drive made up for A LOT. Definitely hitting people in the mouth... all second half

When grays assignment is double some one else’s man and skip to the second level he excels. When it’s his man not soo much. In pass pro he hasn’t been nearly as good with out couture at C. 
 He is however phenomenal as the 6th ol on the edge working with either tackle and that virtually always either has him on some one much smaller or as the double and skip to second level guy.

In April 2021, Jones was named the head coach of his high school Alma Mater, the South Pittsburg Pirates in Marion County, Tennessee. He notably ended the school's nearly century-old rivalry game with neighboring Marion County High School for the 2021 and 2022 seasons, in part due to suspicions that a Marion County fan turned South Pittsburg in for recruiting violations during the 2020 season, resulting in South Pittsburg being placed on probation. Jones resigned from the position on September 13 after coaching only one game, a win against Sequatchie County High School, in order to return to a defensive position with the Toronto Argonauts.
Return to CFL
On September 21, 2021, the Toronto Argonauts announced they had hired Chris Jones as a defensive consultant. Two months later, on December 21, 2021, it was announced that Jones had returned to Edmonton to become the head coach and general manager of the renamed Edmonton Elks.

Roster is up. As expected mostly.
Grant is the the nationalized American so that means... something? 

Hard as hell to judge all those receivers given that we basically ran our starters for most of a half (with Brown too) and then didn't have the ball for the next half.  Maybe 1-2 of them are ongoing prospects but there's no roster space for receivers anyway.  As it is if everyone is healthy we probably can roster one of Agudosi, Grant, McCrae.  Not a lot of opportunity to get on the team for rookie receivers.
I like Murphy too which probably squeezes out another import off the practice roster.  He was probably the best receiver after the starters went out.

I think you sign one of the 6'7 250 guys who runs a 4.7-4.8 that the NFL cuts as a tight end and you have you're CFL version of Kyle Pitts.

What irks me the most is that he went for sloppy seconds... One choke is regrettable, but forgivable- Two chokes one after another... that's weak, and needs to be addressed. Not saying that he should be cut, but we should be looking at improving that position in someway.
Sucks that Leggs missed out on mentoring from Medlock b/c of Covid. 

Another way to look at it in hindsight is that the Riders could have held out for the Bombers and gotten the 9th and 27th? pick and taken Rourke AND Schaffer-Baker. The fact they got value out of their 4th rounder doesn't diminish the fact they lost out on two higher picks by making a bad trade. Last time I checked, they could have selected Schaffer-Baker anyway had they held out for the better deal. The fact they got him in the 4th round is luck not good roster management. They could have gotten a 1st round assett and still selected Schaffer Baker.
We all know that....except O'Day...he never saw it coming.
But would you rather have Collaros than Schaffer Baker AND Rourke? Because that is what could have transpired had the Riders not rushed to throw Zac away. Actually, I would still take Collaros but Rourke evens it out a lot more. Makes it a decision. One the Riders were too stupid to have to make.

Rourke was harassed in the first quarter and some of the second, but it looked to me that the offensive line coach changed the blocking assignments t half time and that pretty much stifled the Rider pass rush. That's what coaches are supposed to do but the Riders had no answers.

I checked all the rosters and only found 3 candidates.  None seemed any better than the rifle kid, which is probably why we signed him.

So, it's really not a million dollars. Only if it's all paid off.
