September 1, 201510 yr http://www.winnipegsun.com/2015/08/31/former-blue-bombers-lb-ian-wild-released-by-nfls-steelers-becomes-free-agent You know what to do Walters ...
September 1, 201510 yr If Simmons is as good as he was with Ottawa, the thought of a Simmons-Bass-Wild linebacking corps makes me positively giddy. Who of those 3 is covering a slotback? Bass or Wild. I don't know if Simmons has the speed. Neither do the other two. Randle isn't going anywhere, and even if he is you're still playing a DB in that spot. Not sold on Randle. Wait... what?? Have you watching him play at all this year... he's been fantastic in the SAM/dime spot

September 1, 201510 yr Not sold on Randle. Then you don't know what you're looking for. He's quietly become an elite SAM in this league, no question. He had a bad game at the start of the season. Everything else is irrelevant.
September 1, 201510 yr The linebackers have really settled down as the year has gone on, but to me Wild is just the kind of player you make room for. Add Wild and improve the defensive line (outside of Westerman who is playing great) and then the D starts to look pretty solid.

September 1, 201510 yr I thought Justin Cole looked decent against the Stamps. Worth another look for sure.

What saying we need to improve the DL doesn't address that?
September 1, 201510 yr A 3 4 d might not be terrible either I dont think our DL is dominant enough for a 3-4 D Our Dline is so weak would it make a difference?
September 1, 201510 yr need a really good NT before you can run an effective 3-4. Anderson is stepping into that role but its not natural for him.
September 1, 201510 yr @SUNMitchell: Per sources, the Blue #Bombers, #BCLions, #RedBlacks and Stampeders are all in the mix for DE Shawn Lemon’s services. #CFL

That's weird I would have expected you to place Winnipeg at the top of the list.
September 1, 201510 yr I'd go back to Calgary if i was him... Really the Lions have a better chance? Man they are 3-5 and look every bit as bad if not worse than we do.
September 1, 201510 yr I would take the Bombers you have the sack leader on the other side going to get less double teams.

Replace Hurl with Wild and add a pass rusher and the front 7 would be vastly improved.

I saw him hesitating last game and thought he might be struggling.

September 2, 201510 yr Wild is not a MLB. Wild was our starting MLB all last year in Etch's D he probably undersized for MLB under Richie's D...

Bass or Wild. I don't know if Simmons has the speed. You seriously want one of those guys covering receivers like Green and Dressler? This team uses two linebackers, not three. Our D is a 4-2-6. Hell, it looks like a 5-1-6 on a lot of occasions because Hurl's usually jumping into a gap right after the snap.
September 2, 201510 yr Author Arash Madani @ArashMadani Shawn Lemon, a #CFL free agent, likely signs (between BC, Ottawa, WPG) in the next 24-48 hours. WPG putting on full-court press to land him. Arash Madani @ArashMadani Shawn Lemon, a sought-after #CFL free agent, is doing his due diligence by contacting WPG/OTT/BC coaches and players to find the right fit.
September 2, 201510 yr If this is true then I would think we are the front runners to be honest. Contrary to what alot of people on here think, or claim, we have a lot going for us organization wise, facility wise and fanbase wise. We are truly a few quick pieces and tweeks to becoming legit contender, and a compliment to Westerman is the start.
September 2, 201510 yr I still believe if we can get anything close to slightly below average QB play, the D and special teams could win us a few games, enough to hang around until Willy returns. I’m not ready to give up on the season yet, especially with 4 games left against Sask/Ottawa and one against BC and Montreal. Those are all winnable games.
