  • Any QB that doesn't fully understand the job of an RB isn't much of a QB...

  • Will Ford had one good game behind a very strong OL against a piss poor D. Good for him. Not calling it a mistake to cut him.

The real problem is the running backs are coached by a guy who has never coached running backs

A bit surprising.  Not crazy surprising, but a bit.

Surprised by this move... :o

Will Edmonton pick him up ?

Can only carry 3 import RBs on the roster for so long. Not really surprising.

Maybe Saskatchewan will pick him up

If Cotton's 100%, then this makes sense...

To be honest, I thought we had already cut him.  With Grigsby and Cotton we are set at RB.

Sad to see him go,  I liked him a lot.  Pretty much verifies that an import RB can not be traded for anything.  Expect Ford to reappear with a rival team soon.

The only surprise is that he was actually brought back this year. He doesn't really do anything well enough to justify being anything more than a backup and we seem to have guys who can do that job better.

Plus Bolton is on the PR.  That was 4 import RBs.

The life of an import RB.

He would have had to mount a strong defence of his roster spot in camp and wasn't healthy enough to do it.  In years past being the incumbent might have been enough, but Walters brought in some really talented players this year.  Hope he lands on his feet, and thanks for his time in blue and gold.

no surprise here... I expect him to resurface somewhere soon

I don't think anyone's particularly surprised.  I don't think he resurfaces quickly if at all.

Walters has a better idea ... or is that FORD? ;)

Saskatchewan and Edmonton are both still trying out running backs.  Wouldn't be surprised if he gets a shot in either place.  Maybe Ottawa but Ford brings a pretty similar skill set to Chevon Walker so I don't know if he would help them out too much.

You could see the cotton on the wall, here.....

Ford is an elite kickoff returner so this might help his cause.

John White is a player - He impressed the **** out of me in the Ottawa game with his blocking.  He wasn't running half bad either.

A little surprised he wasn't worth a late pick. Makes sense though with Grigsby and Cotton.

not surprised at all, saw this coming a while ago. Unfortunate for Mr Ford but... it was pretty obvious this was bound to happen. Best of luck to Will in his future, i doubt that future includes another CFL team.

Gene Simmons might figure in Mr. Ford's future...

No not suprising. He had a decent year last year considering our woeful record.

Not a shocking release, I expect he will land on his feet with another shot here in the cfl..
