Not counting Sundays, there are 17 days left to sign our own FAs.

Do the Bombers have a say in all the FAs we have to sign or do circumstances exist where we have no chance?

 

For me, at least to get to TC:

 

Desirable signings - Some for obvious reasons, some for NI content, some for experience:

 

Henoc Muamba, Chris Matthews, Jade Etienne, Brandon Stewart, Will Ford, Jovon Johnson, Akeem Foster, Kenny Mainor, Justin Sorensen, Marc Parenteau.

 

Signings if it makes sense - Again, ratio-wise and depth, new signings:

 

JT Gilmore, , Ryan Lucas, Chris Cvetkovic, Chris Kowalczuk, Dan West.

 

Not a Priority - Injuries….

 

Chad Simpson, Andre Douglas.

The Bombers have 79 60 players listed on their roster page including all eligible FAs.

There are 34 imports and 32 26 NIs.

However, I can't imagine injured players like Sims-Walker will be back nor Bo Smith, nor Boltus (but that's just my wish)

                        

                        

                                          

                        

Our line was awful last year.  I don't think I should be terribly concerned to leave one of the weaker parts of it leave.  I would think they have a plan, since it doesn't seem like they wanted to keep him.  

One more thing i haven't heard mentioned by anyone yet...we don't currently have a kicker on our roster do we?

Hirallaju or whatever.. that guy is really good.  Palardy is still out there... not worried.

 

We converted Sorenson to a Centre in half a season, move Morley or Greaves in there - no one will notice.

I like the Moore signing, only because I think he was one of the reasons BC was comfortable getting rid of Geroy.

 

Anyone else think it would be hilaaarious if Lulay got hurt early in the season?  And they were stuck with the Pierce/Elliott show?

Sorenson was a journeyman O-lineman, and not that hard to replace, but damn, we need a stud NI O-lineman. The free agent picking look awful slim right now so I hope that Pencer and/or Neufeld will step up, Walters pulls a rabbit out of a hat or we can score a starter in the draft. Don't like our odds, though.

Wally has an unreal ability to produce Quarterbacks, if Lulay gets hurt I'm sure Ricky Ray 2.0 will be right there to step in.

Because DeMarco, pierce, champion, Jackson are all Ricky Ray level of talent.

The fact that they took Bomber scraps for their depth doesn't really show me that Buono has it anymore.

RBs drafted Marwan Hage. If he's healthy, can't see them taking a centre with their first pick.

He was a FA for a few minutes. BC confirmed they made him an offer.

I will say this...based on everything I've read today, I'm very confident the Bombers did everything they could to get the guys they really wanted. Sometimes, you just can't get a guy, even if you offer 'em the moon. They had money, they had opportunity...I have no reason to believe that they didn't do everything in their power today. It is what it is...

Sorenson was no screaming hell for us but now I'm not seeing a centre that's better than him... have to see what the plan is.

I'm assuming we'll be seeing Kowalczuk and Morley at centre to start the season. If we draft Lavertu he starts mid season.

IIRC they said he signed just before FA started - not enough time for other teams to know he had signed. And even if he was FA for a few minutes, that likely wouldn't have been enough time for his agent to let him know what the other offers were.

I'm sure it doesn't need to be pointed out, but what are the odds Korey Banks DIDN'T have anything to do with bringing Moore here?

 

Going by his tweet after the announcement, he seemed surprised by the signing. We now know that Moore and Willy are good friends so he may have played more of a factor than Banks.

If Bourke was truly available, I think every team would have paid pretty much everything they were able, in order to get him in their colours. He's that good. Also, he was not leaving Montreal for anything.

Seeing as they only have Lulay, pierce and Elliott under contract.... It would likely be someone new with zero cfl experience. Tough even for wally.

Pierce is about as good of a backup QB as you're going to get.  He's just unreliable for long periods of time.
