Vaval should be good to go for the 2nd half as per DT.

  • That was the absolute worst ******* two downs Condell has called all year Collaros gets rocked, you know he’s gonna be a bit slow and we just give him a ******* insanely long-to-develop play call two

So if we don't have a true number one i would rather go with 4 2/3s and a 5 than 3 2/3a and 2 5s......

Better yet...just go with the 5 best options as your starters...regardless of Birth certificate...kinda like what other teams do and adjust a ratio accordingly.... Playing unneeded inferior Canadians just because when you don't have to makes no sense and nobody else seems to want to do that, and if there is a team playing 8 true ones..maybe 9...They are the best option. That also goes with Imports...Play your best maximum allowed and build the roster and ratio accordingly...Know your assets...weaknesses...and make the moves in FA and drafting and recruiting to play to it.

Based on our roster and 12 games in now...It's pretty clear our best unit moving forward if all are healthy would be a Pokey, White, Singer, Demski, Clercius starting 5 with Neild as the main backup/rotation guy, Cobb as depth as he can be muti-faceted. I wouldn't even be dressing Daniels currently as Clercius...MCI and Eli can handle the TE heavy set stuff..They did before.

I'd even go a step further and dump the Elsbury experiment and just run with Eli and with 3 Cdn interior guys...Demski and BO add Womack for Elsbury and integrate him if for anything to see what he has, We can easily do that ratio wise with only 2 Canadians needed and declared on defense as National starters....and could freely swap out Kelly from safety or even just replace him totally and he goes back to teams and backup

We have a import spot to fill for Saturday with Woodbey down and out, now what we do with it will show how dense Osh truly is....There are several options we could actually add to roster that will have use outside of teams in place of the most likely Hazen addition...You could add Womack..Jaworski..Jenkins...all guy who could come in in a rotational way, and actually be actual back up to a starter if need be. Plus allows us to actually see them in a real game and if they are even worth being here

Hazen is on the 6-game, so he's out.

Jaworski or Jenkins makes sense. Let Ayers actually play some LB in Woodbey's place too.

Hard to imagine a guy getting hurt with no real snaps..dont even recal seeing him on the field his last game..let alone getting medical treatment..but if he truly is then thats excellent news (not about his injury) but in that it takes away any chance Osh makes the brain dead move

I think it happened in practice last week. Head injury per the report. Practiced Wednesday, didn’t Friday, out and 6 gamed.

This may have actually been his chance to play D with Woodbey out but maybe we’ll get to see Ayers. We know he can tackle at least from his work on teams

U would think Ayers would anyway..not some less than spectacular/special rookie

When Ayers came in after the woodbey injury and played more a role suited to him..instead of out of position DE he actually made several noticeable plays...imagine that

He sure did. Dude can find the ball carrier. Not sure he’s a guy that can track a RB or receiver in pass coverage, but none of our LBs have exactly excelled at that.

He's built for an athletuc thumping mlb type..actually now that Wilson is older is prob our best sideline to sideline lb behind Smith..and well you see that in both just on their ST dominance

Ayers would be just fine in coverage role traditional to a inside lb..not some this nonesense we run..but I think his drops and ability to react out of them would be just fine..and like been saying...never know unless u give guys opportunity to show it

I know they're different stylewise but can Ayers be worse than some of the poor play we saw from Woodby this year?

Seems to me that Nield, despite his better showing last game ought to be a lot better for what he is being paid. Clercius needs to be utilized more and Demski has been a godsend, but has a lot more days behind him than in front of him. Collaros got worse as the last game wore on, and if Brown isn't as good as or better that our fading star QB, why the hell is he here? I do not trust O'Shea to pull Collaros when he obviously isn't getting the job done.

Reading most of these posts:

a) You wouldn't think they had a solid win 2 weeks ago

b) You wouldn't think that their most recent game went into OT

This team and its coaches are not the steaming pile of dung y'all are making them out to be

We remember the 2nd quarter pants shitting vs Edmonton.... We saw that Saskatchewan gave us every opportunity to take that game and we failed to do it.... The team is basically in a situation where they are not winning the games they need to win to secure their place in the standings. End of the season it does not really matter if you lost close games if you don't actually accomplish anything.

Yeah but that makes too much sense....

Here's how I look at it, sports and real jobs share a lot of similarity in leadership. The coaches job is to make sure the players are given what they need to succeed. That means preparing them properly, using their talents in the best way possible... I will compare it to my workplace... 2 years ago we had experienced field people, they didn't need much management, it was here's the job and they knew how to do it. Now with some departures there's less experience so more hands on management is required. Extra preparation, more thought about ok can this person actually do this or do I need to use someone else... I think this is where our coaches are falling short. I think they're still treating it like it's 2021 and Bighill and co. Are going to handle a lot of that themselves.

I've said it a number of times that Osh & the coaches that have been here for a long time like Younger still think this team is in 2021 or 22.

The hyperbole is strong here. I see nothing that sets off alarm bells to me in last week's performance. It's the fricken LDC. We went to OT which is a far better result than we've had with far better teams. We don't win that game often. Like I stated before the game I don't think any of us should read much into the state of our team in the LDC. It's the toughest game on our schedule every year even when the Riders suck.

If Brown were better he would be the starter, and there was nothing wrong with Zac's performance last week. I'm not sure why you would want him pulled last week?

In context, Zach had a good game passing. The OL didn’t play very well, and there were some really bad drops by the receivers. Not much more he could have done.

He makes spectacular plays but he has to be one of the worst QB's at his level in the history of this league at dealing with pressure, especially as he has lost a step and the ability to really scramble/go off schedule. He hasn't adjusted to the reality of what he has left in the tank and just thinks he can move like he's 31 when he's 38.

Yeah I don’t think he’s the type of QB to reinvent his style.

In context of what he can do and the type of offence we run, I think he’s playing as well as possible.

Yeah collaros has never been the quick short game qb. In his prime he compensated by being able to move around and escape pressure. That ability has left him and he is too easy to disrupt through pressure right now

Nothing at all? Not the complete inability to handle a blitz? Not the complete inability to get a first down through the first quarter, or more, of the game? Not the complete lack of effort by some players?

I'd suggest you look harder and not just at the scoreboard. Saskatchewan gave them that game and Winnipeg refuses to take it.

This team isn't going to accomplish anything. There is no deep playoff run for them coming. Not with how the coaches build this roster and not with how this coaching staff calls plays and not with how the players make/don't make plays.
The sooner people come to this realization the more enjoyable the season becomes.

My expectations are for some entertaining games. But I'm fully expecting them to either cross over or miss the playoffs altogether.

Again, it's the LDC. 50 years of watching this game has taught me that it's rarely going to look pretty for the Bombers in this game. It's the gappers Grey Cup game most years and they tend to rise to the occasion. Name one player who showed a complete lack of effort. Not what I was watching.

It's all coaching, not a lack of talent. Got it.

I'm guessing you missed the - "not with how the players make/don't make plays" part of my rant?
Regardless, I do not put the lack of success of this team on only the players or only the coaching or only the management. Its a combination of all three, one may play a bigger role than the other depending on the time of year, though.

There's such a bizarre fixation on who's to blame here, and whether it's the coaches or the players. Obviously it's both? In fact, they actually go together? Is this not obvious?

(There's one specific poster who seems to have trouble ascribing any sort of responsibility or blame to the coaches, which I simply can't understand lol).

The LDC left plenty to be concerned about. Hard to defend Zach. He needs to understand how to unload the ball under pressure. It's a fundamental skill that a vet in his standing should be able to do almost effortlessly. It's killing us. Not to mention his downfield accuracy. Ugh.

At the same time, it was the LDC. We did hold up pretty well and I have hope for the Banjo Bowl. But I agree, it's hard to imagine this team getting far in the playoffs.

Also, four straight two-and-outs to start the game? ******* abysmal. Also, that last pass to the line of scrimmage on third down? Nope.

GOOD coaching can bring out talent too tho....or recognize lack of talent and replace them with a better option...Rarely happens here save for an injury

You just commented on Brown not playing cause he is not better...your opinion

You also said that we were not playing an import receiver because the guys on the PR are not any better than what we had on the field...again your opinion

But Singer gets on...and low and behold looks worlds better and can be impactful more than Cobb and Neild, and actually garnered attention. I believe was most targeted too so obviously the QB likes what he brings too...When has Cobb or Neild led in targets

You said Smith isnt getting starting reps or the chance to start cause he is a 2nd yr guy and not ready...and the other 2 old farts are better...Smith since being a regular has been our best LB

Same with Griffin..I beat that drum for 2 yrs he should be sam...but you profess Kramdi was the best cause of Osh's comments...and he so smart...doesn't equate to being the best tho..and low and behold until he went down Griffin was our best and most consistent defender....speaking of him he told me yesterday he should be back "soon" so not sure if thats a game or 2...or what but he confident in it which would help big time

Who knows what other guy if put in would shine...Be it a rookie..2nd yr guy...more tenured guy...Elsbury for example facks us multiple ways as he wastes a valuable import spot...permeates his ineffectiveness in to other parts of the line...and his inconsistent snaps screw up rhythm and timing. Thats just one example...To trust that osh is putting the best guys out there because he wears the HC hat is foolish...History has shown us that

I know you dont like to admit osh isnt the be all end all of coaches but a lot of our misfortune falls right at his feet...I also agree too that we have some other issues needing attention...but they also kind of wrap around back to him as well in a way.

I'll put it this way...yup...we have some players who are not good anymore...some who have really bad technical skills...some who continue to be abused game in and game out in the same fashion...make mental/communication errors game in and game out...seemingly out of position...there seems to be a lot of this in our roster

Now...who rosters them? and Who doesn't hold anyone accountable...even a benching of quarter, or second half of a game? Rip a strip off em on the sideline...somerimes a good public embarrassing gets the message across..

Who is responsible to recognize the issues, and either fix them by taking a different coaching approach, or removing them altogether for a different player?

And guys even after game 12 at times still looking confused...unsure of assignment....Thinking as opposed to reacting...being in wrong spots...Who prepares them in week leading up to a game....or should be preparing them?

Therein lies the problem if anyone here answers the quations....Rhymes with poaching
