Argos at Bombers- Looking ahead

Curious if anyone's heard who's been taking starting reps so far at QB, defense gonna have to play the way they played that second half the entire game vs Toronto.

It was fantastic for Kelowna. Everyone I know who went had a great time. The Lions even hosted a "Canada-Morocco viewing party before their second game. We need more Domans in this country owning CFL

Team is off until Wednesday when they have a closed practice. Only practice of the week. We won't know **** until the injury report on Wednesday afternoon and even then won't really know anything unti

Where you are drafted at it 100% irrelevant. You place your weakest NAT starters at a place they can do the least damage if they are not up to snuff. We all THINK that Shay and Smith are blue chippers, but we don't know that. Fielding your best 24 does not follow draft rankings. PERIOD.

Where you are drafted does matter because in theory you're taking guys you believe have the most upside there. And when you're building a roster the you SHOULD do it, is plug in your best Canadians and fill in around them.... for me Smith is a top 3 or 4 canadian on our team based on his play. He should be a lock to start. Meanwhile I don't believe that Cobb or Corcoran are in that top tier of Canadian players on our roster so they should not be starting.

It's just that simple.

Seems like after this week that the Bombers and Argos should talk about Jake Herslow. Guy came on strong for us last season and picked up a nick coming out of camp and now is Kahmann-Blocked from our game day roster.

Got a spare National Safety or WIL?

Kramdi/kelly and Jones...have at er lol

If Herslow is healthy he would look very good in Blue and Gold - How about Shay or Hallett (Shay is a young high draft choice with a ton of potential and Hallett is a veteran decent fill in at Safety.

Jenkins played his way off the roster. Simple as that. I suspect that one our IMP Lbers is close to that as well and that is why we dressed Hazen so he can get his feet wet. Sometimes today's roster move is more about next week or the week after. Everyone just wants to hand Smith/Shay a starting job and they haven't earned it. The irony is that we could do that and then people would ***** about too many NAT starters. The goal posts are consistently moving. This weeks goal post move comes courtesy of the 53rd roster spot. This game won't be decided by that move. We need our starting players to play well. They do that and the 53rd spot is completely irrelevant, they don't play well some of you guys are willing to give them a free pass and blame the 3rd backup IMP LBer for the loss. SMH. Crissakes you are mad because Jenkins isn't on the roster? My god, the guy was awful.

Start Smith...remove cobb/Corc's..who would complain othrr than osh

Smith has shown more than enough now to be given the slot..what more does he have to do really?

Jenkins tho would offer more than Haruz..are they trying to say he better than all our national linebackers..Ayers..and Woodbey when he back...highly doubt it.

And there been guys here wallowing around with nary a opportunity to show anything.. so why this guy? Surely be glad I wrong and they insert him defensively and he looks like the second coming of Singleton..but id bet my left nut he not in starting lineup anytime soon...if even here past this yr

Osh doesn't or rarely does any roster gymnastics to pre plan for transition...he if anything diddles around until no choice or hand is forced

This idea we juat adding back end of roster guys so its really insignificant is also garbage...maybe add talent to roster who can contribute and push the guys just ahead of the backend guys..into the new backend guys and get rid of the crap...there's a roster constructing thought...conti rally upgrades and attempts to be better...something that waved bye bye here yrs ago

Maybe draft guys as well with legit starting potential...they can play st quite well too..as they develop..instead of guys who only reason being on the roster is cause they play teams..and thats it..and you can't use them outside of that..there's another gem of an idea that said see ya later here as well the past decade

Is it crazy to dream that this is the game that Dru shines and then wins the starting job and becomes the guy for us for the next many years?

Absolutely Dru can and may shine... No chance the coaches move on from Zach unless it's injury related.

Just so so f'ing bad. I remember being outraged when i saw these Argos retros.

Thing is the new 3rd jersey or whatever it is called has a W on the front no number and it just doesn’t look right for football 😳

I guess the Bombers never learned from 10 years ago 😛

Yeah osh ain't taking collaros' job away unless collaros is in a wheel chair and even then I'd need to see it to believe it.

More likely he takes a blind side hit from the left side and gets injured, unfortunately. That's based partly on his injury history, partly on the number of hits he took in Ottawa, but mostly on the fact that our o-line sucks.

i’m really interested to see how he does in this game. Dare to dream.

I worry about brown though too with bryant on the blind side

Our OL definitely doesn't suck. Stan is absolutely looking cooked more and more, unfortunately. I wouldn't mind moving Broxton over there and maybe move Stan to the inside... Once Vanterpool is healthy move him to RT maybe? But yes, The 🐐 has definitely seemed like he's a step behind more than a couple times so far this year.

They have to establish the run early tomorrow. And not just between the tackles, lots of motion, get some sweeps/screens in there and make sure the DL cant just pin their ears and go. Gotta make them think.

Darren Cameron says there 1000 tickets remaining, gonna be a tough push.

Maybe those two can re-ignite the Brock Ralph/Aaron Hargreaves chemistry of 2009....lol...

Also - I think it's funny that this team had a "Ralph Brock" and a "Brock Ralph" on their roster. I am trying to think of other reverse combos but none come to mind. Poplawski Joe wasn't really a popular name...

The best was when Tom Canada was signed the same day Tom Europe was released.

The transactions were even mentioned in Sports Illustrated.

And he's next for the bricks. Alas, he was.

The team was soooo bad when he played that he never got a chance to show what he really could do. His OL was by far the worst in the CFL & he was beat down into submission. I'm sure he had nightmares of some DL from Edmonton breaking his leg.

Over 31,000 sold... They'll make sure the rest are "sold"... Weather looks tremendous. Fans deserve a big win... Here's hoping Dru can put some points up and the D can hold the sex pest in check...

If it's not a sellout, just put an asterisk beside it - Argos home game so should not count as part of the streak. 😆

It will still be the best crowd they've had in years!

I got a real bad feeling Kelly is going to eat us alive tomorrow

His weaknesses do not play to our strengths whatsoever and if I woke up Saturday morning and you told me Kevin Mital finished the game with 26 catches for 212 yards, I wouldn’t doubt it for a second.

Well, if it ends up with 12 points, my fantasy team will take it (I sadly couldn't start ZC this week, so Sex Pest got the call... And Mittal has been one of my biggest point getters so far...)

But **** those guys. Let's just go win this ******* thing. I don't care if it is a 45-44 shootout.

Argos’ radio guy was saying that their interior dl has been really good but the ends have been a weak spot. Running outside might be the way to go.

be like the equivalent of 3 games for them....Do they get a cut of gate tho?...or all of it?...we just get concessions?...was this ever mentioned?

Too bad we had outside/wide zone and most all off tackle runs outside of jet sweep

No exact numbers have ever been reported. It sounds like they get a cut, maybe a large cut, of gate and concessions. From the Argos/Riders game:

And here's the main thing — most of the money from ticket/concession sales will be going to the Argonauts.

How much?

"It's probably not appropriate for me to comment on the arrangement with Toronto," said Riders president/CEO Craig Reynolds.

It's actually the Bombers @Argos so we'll probably be wearing our road white jerseys.

Yep, the club confirmed they are wearing the white jerseys.
