Stan looks as worse then neuf did before we shut him down for injuries the other year. Thing is it’s harder to hide at T and he doesn’t seem injured. Teams are game planning for him now to exploit it too.

Elsbury took one step forward and two steps back last night. He did a much better job getting down field in the run game and showing some nastiness, the inside wasn’t the sieve in pass pro, but his snaps were bad and he wasn’t winning one on ones with dl. He plays surprisingly small for a guy his size and athletic level. For such a big athletic guy to continually end up inside is a red flag.

Vanterpool wasn’t great at T before pre season this year, but he did play really well in ps.

Poncius could be the long term solution at rt but he isn’t likely to see an ar this year and get a chance to develop.

The blocking depth on the ar isn’t where it needs to be either. I had hopes for vibert that he just hasn’t been able to live up to in game. They seem decided on never starting eli. Daniel’s is only an asset if he’s blocking a much smaller position, and only two guys are road graders on the roster.

We really need to get atleast one of those two up here. Hopefully Manu.

Maybe Ellsbury is not a natural center, but a better guard. O'Shea is wasting ELI.

He’s moved around a bit but played mostly C. He is a rookie starting at a position imps don’t usually play, but it’s not encouraging. Maybe he needs to be a G. but it vanterpool is not actually hurt he’s much better at G.

As per usual, 6th ol role is viewed like the di lber.

Remember this the next time you complain about Cobb, Corcoran, etc.

Seriously? Usually I'd respond but that comment isn't worth it.

If he sucked at pass pro he wouldn’t have instantly been picked up and started when cut.

Highest rated bomber ol in pass pro, top 4 in the league last year, career pass blocking specialist.

That;s what I heard as well.

Eli is on year 7 as a backup/6th OL... He's 30 years old... He's not starting at C, it's just not happening, now or ever

He has a nagging ankle injury otherwise he'd be the starter. Or so w'eve been led to beieve.

Led to believe by who???

Hopefully we see at least Cline show up here at some point after labour day, or even better Manu...Imagine if both do...damn...You could almost instantly have 4 nationals on the oline again with Broxton anchoring LT

Speaking of... Sounds like his days in Detroit could be numbered.

They had him doing some work at guard during their recent OTA's, seeing if he might fit better there. Based on their drafting an FA signings, he's pretty far down their depth chart, inside or outside. I'm sure other NFL teams will, at the very least, kick tires on him but it's something to watch any way.

Eli can't surpass Kolo last year and has all the chance to get the starting C at TC. He didn't.

"Tui Eli Ankle DNP." And on & on & on. We have no idea what the injury is or when he'll be back.

You can't base anything on that..osh had repeatedly played players he likes over more talented...or more useful players..that opinion he couldnt beat out kolo doesn't hold weight

We let him go..went to the hammer where they had a center opening..he was not "given" the job but was beat out by a converted guard...says alot

With O'Shea as head coach, is this a surprise?

He didn't actually. He was injured most of camp, pre season and still isn't 100%.

Yup...but......when has that stopped osh playing a guy not healthy..actually shouldn't even be on field?

Elsbury isnt good enough and a difference maker to be taking a import away from roster elsewhere that would benefit us

Says a lot too about Eli.

Wow it’s hotter here than Central America. Good god.

Saw the highlights. Dru looked great. Honestly, I think he’s better than Zach. I don’t remember seeing a qb hitting receivers in stride so much , TD to TimmEH was a great example.

Maybe I was 2 hard on the D, seem to be coming around.

Vaval on the monster missed FG return was gone at our 12 13 yard line. Seriously. Dude just got shot out of a cannon there. Wow. Can’t you get that involved offensively somehow? Cuz dudes got some friggin wheels. Dude running sweeps would be pretty deadly I think.

O looked good. Dru consistently moved the ball through the air. Wouldn’t hate the O to maybe be a bit more aggressive and go for it on 3rd down instead of 64 yard fgs every other time but alright.

Bryant is finished. Like he needs to be told he’s done. Eli obviously after 7 years ain’t it either.

Oline could use some help but not gonna get it unless someone gets hurt. Stan should be replaced, he won’t be tho. Unless he gets hurt. The rest seem sufficient to me. Stanley is a liability now.

Jets got rid of their Pilon known as Logan Stanley. Big Stan.

Time for bombers to follow suit. And get rid of Stanley Bryant

Only acceptable Stanley should be Lord Stanley hopefully one day never I’m sure. But no more Stanley’s. I’d be ok with Mr Roper tho. Ohhhh Stanley.

Dru has an excellent arm to go with a quick release....Look at the successful qb's in the league presently...and Dru is of that caliber ...I see him as good as Alexander and Harris and given time he will be even better than those two....Ottawa didn't know what they had.....

My sweat is sweating, Idr a hotter temp in manitoba.

Yeah, drus' accuracy/touch/timing is some thing we haven't had in a dogs age.

We should be developing Vaval as a package guy, maybe even on both sides of the ball. You can't tell me he isn't better as the deepest safety then Kelly or Kramdi. Have him treat it like a punt, read the qb, flow to the ball. We have a few guys who just flow to the ball but can't get to the position in time.

On offence, the big guy who can't block big guys or the wr who can't run. Stick vaval in on jet sweep, maybe some sweep/pa toss, and screen plays. We don't need him running skinny posts or deep outs, just catch and run.

At Ol, Poncius had some flashes in pre season but hate to see a true rookie starting at T. Maybe we get super lucky with Manu coming up though. Even if Vanterpool gets healthy, I don't think he's the answer at RT. Improvements but not the answer.

June 1988 - it was so hot they had to close down the schools.

Jefferson has 3 sacks which matches last year's total. Ceresna has 4 which is 4 times what he had last year. Its obvious that Jake Thomas is a coaching genius.

not sure what else it could be

amazing what another actual threat on the line will do for Willie...

and he has been pretty disruptive and created way more pressures this yr, a thing to note as well...knockdowns are not as prevalent, but that's also because he doesn't have to jab step...then drop back looking for it...he's actually allowed to play DE

Adding Reese tho been huge....he has to take a lot of attention from olines and is getting better each game, so it's freeing guys up from being doubled up on...Dude is lightning fast

Speaking of which...on the Hick's run right after the Pokey fumble...Smith came from the opposite side of center after Jones lost contain and was beat wide and tracked him down from behind to make the tackle....and Hicks isnt a slow back....Great recognition and flow/angle to ball carrier...blew right by Jones to make tackle...Kid should be the fulltime WIL

Another of my favs from that game...on the MCI run in the 2nd quarter...BO lead blocking and knocking the snot outta the DB...I wanna see that play too called more often with MCI with speed around the edge...one lil seam and he's busting big yards, and with his power anyway will 9 times outta 10 be positive yardage
