Not sure what anyone else could want from a press conference. No head coach is going to publicly skewer players or coaches and they aren't going to talk about contracts. 

He acknowledged this year wasn't good enough and that the standard remains high. A pretty easy answer but also one every coach will give.

Hodge was definitely a bit chippy in his article. Was this presser put on yt or any thing? It'd be interesting to see if he was that way in his questions to Mos. 

 In terms of questioning Mos's decision-making, Noeller is right that he has the freedom to his privacy. He gave more than enough of the personal side. On the football side, it's fair game to push for actual answers. 

I have been seeing more and more chippy pieces about Mos/Mafia since late last year. And it's only going to get more intense unless they turn the team's trajectory around. 

Particularly, the second half of the article, where he gets away from the why he said no stuff, is when it gets interesting.

Walters is scheduled for his presser today - will be interesting to hear his thoughts & see if we learn anything about how they plan to right the ship.

Reading between the lines here, everyone won't be asked back. 

If they were all under contract and wanted back, he would have said so.

sad part...wasnt just "this" yr....but at least he has admitted it was a pathetic failure...That's a start...can he follow thru?...Thats the million dollar question...history so far says not a chance....time will tell I guess....tho he has been given ample time already...2021 is eons ago in the sports world

That is concerning and shows that last yr was likely the same thing....went into off-season/FA and into TC with no real plan at all...just figured guys would sing here...just because....things would work out...cause they did yrs ago and just follow the script and we be good...a script that failed for 3 yrs....If we just getting more the same based on that initial lil snippet...we in for some lean times

Cup is over....that should be disclosed now already...can have a huge affect in guys possibly re-upping before FA or saying...I'm going tom free agancy now.....plus gives potential FA anidea also from other teams whats the deal here and time to weigh the pro' and cons...dragging our feet and or just going status quo will have us having the same kind of FA as last yr...dissapointing and a big failure

The Rifles signed Dallas Sims this year. Another local kid that went to Old Dominion, then came home but I never heard why. I assumed grades. He never ended up playing for the Rifles either, just seems to be out of football now. 

Failure to thrive in adulthood.  Have heard similar issues about the kid from Murdoch too.

The prep schools really stunt people who don't have the best grounding and adult involvement.

I read it more as they haven't talked to the rest of the coaching staff yet and he wasn't going to say someone isn't going to be back without having told them to their face beforehand.

Do coordinators and assistants typically get deals that are longer than a year?  Do we have any coaches on our staff that aren't free agents?

1 or 2 year deals are the norm I believe.

Taylor Elgersma - sounds like he's waiting on an NFL futures contract for now. Window closes around Feb. Kyle expects if not then, then he will be expected up here.

If losing 3 gc games in row and in fashion, and hosting a gc didn’t change our approach, I don’t see how going 10-8 vs 11-7 and 12-6 will make that swing. I sure hope they do but I’m not holding my breath.

Yea...at least he admitted a lot of our wins were basically for lack better terms....smoke and mirrors and couldn't beat top QB'S

Well it's a lot easier to fool yourself when you are first in the west and playing for the grey cup compared to 4th in the west and meekly bow out in the east semi-final.

Yup, making the grey cup is hard. Can see why they would delude themselves that everything was working. Especially when two of the loses were 1 play away from wins.

Kyle made a comment today that it is a lot easier to re-tool with 1 year contracts across the league. Maybe a sign we'll be players in free agency.

'22 you are obviously going to run it back given you just won a GC.

'23 you were a random Chad Kelly away from winning the GC so I could see running it back.

'24 You just lost a close one against Montreal. But cracks are starting to form.

'25 you absolutely **** the bed against the Argos in the grey Cup. That should have been an indication it was time to shake things up. Instead we brought everyone back again minus Lawler and signed some questionable FAs.

Obviously we could have made much better long term improvements in that entire duration. Don't get me wrong. I just think how we went into this year was inexcusable.

IF Elgersma decides to sign, that would make the future quarterbacking picture a lot brighter here...Sounds like he showed pretty good in Green Bay, but was caught up in the ol political games they play with their pivots, and was released ....sounds too familiar.... Anyway we don't know how he would work out in the CFL...Sounds like Walters is keen on the kid.... Maybe we'll get to see for ourselves come training camp  ........
