Completely agree with that too, just speaking about the third down call. If you want to run a sneak on the second down play I actually think you would want to use Wilson, seems to average more yards on his sneaks. Streveler's always look awful. Pete Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago (edited) In the last quarter our dline was gassed, Willie was basically waving at runners going past him. If woods is healthy we need to have him play. I did like Cam Allen, physical and showed some speed. And I aggree Wilson is a better 3rd dwn quarterback, streveler doesnt have the initial burst anymore and is no longer overpowering anyone Edited 3 hours ago by Pete Piggy 1, Noeller, Blue28 and 3 others 6

Or run some kind of zone read with Streveler and Oliviera to force the D to cover every gap and even think pass is possible. Or just run a normal play with Collaros out there. Honestly I'd just give up on the Streveler run pack because we're not executing our basic run stuff well and Streveler is also not much of a weapon on the run with his knee now. 2 minutes ago, Pete said: In the last quarter our dline was gassed, Willie was basically waving at runners going past him. Yeah Cam Allen is the first guy we've played this year aside from Nichols and Holm who is confident enough to make a play on the ball. That dump to Clercuis they’d been running all night probably would have been good for 3 yards. Agree that the Strev run package is no good, he’s just too beat up. They should be using Wilson exclusively for traditional (I.e a yard and a half tops) short yardage. Noeller 1

Noeller Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago There was a lot to like in that game, mostly in the first half.... But man that second half was, to quote @17to85, "pants on head" stupid in a lot of places... wbbfan, Deiter Fan and rebusrankin 2 1

Bomber_fanaddict Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Everyone seems to forget we started 2-6 last year and had a lot of the same issues we are having now. I’m not overly concerned yet. Defence, special teams, punting, kick coverage etc seems to be improving each game. Offence has its bright moments and then complete head scratchers. Coaching (mostly on offence) seems to still be our biggest concern. But I’d rather them struggle now then in late Sept and October when games mean more. We are 5-4 with the season series over BC. Riders are due for their mid season slump pretty soon. Calgary is beatable. Get some NFL cuts, make some changes on play calling, get a few injured guys back and they will be fine.

Bomberman Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Does nobody on D tackle anymore? All I see are players getting "bumped", hoping they fall down. wbbfan 1
rebusrankin Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago On the late interception, was it me or did the ball briefly hit Demski's hands before it bounced to the DB who made the pick? 17to85 and MrFreakzilla 2

I'll say this: the physicality that Cam Allen brings to the secondary is going to help change that. That kid is just barely scratching the surface of his potential, and he's the best DB find in a good while. He can cover, he can tackle, he can hit, and he can come up to play the run game. I'd love to see Woodbey and Allen draw in, maybe eventually. I wish we could see where allen would be at if he had broken camp on the AR, like he should have.

But he form tackles well and does his job. If you get out tackled by that guy as a lber/db, you should feel bad. I'll say too that Jones, Allen, Holm, and Vaval all did solid jobs tackling tonight. Far, far better than the rest. Tony jones will likely get consideration for an all star spot at Lber at this rate. Gail 1
Brandon Posted 56 minutes ago Report Posted 56 minutes ago (edited) I don't think the Blue were as bad as some people on here were making them out to be... but yikes that last 2 minutes was the worst coaching decisions I've ever seen since Tim Burke had taken a knee and gave up that one game. This game should of been iced on these 3 plays... 1 - Kramdi going for the big hit instead of wrapping up the running back on the 2nd and 15 play in the 4th quarter. Absolutely no need to lay in a big hit when he could of wrapped him and at least slowed him down which easily would of stopped them well short of the first down. 2 - 2nd and 3 and that package with Strev was garbage. Why not just take a knee at that point it was painfully obvious on what the play was. Why are they not running short yardage with Wilson who is much better then Strev? If you have Strev in why not RPO with Brady? What a terrible call. Hogan had called a real good first quarter where he was getting Zach out of the pocket and on the run which was working well. I thought the 3rd quarter and 4th the plays were ok but the o-line was shakey as hell which resulted in those 2 and outs. This 2nd and 3 play was absolute garbage. Suitor was even calling it out. 3 - The field goal. As a fan I demand answers on who called that if it was O'Shea or Hogan. Either way O'Shea should be blistered by the media and I hope Miller or someone tears a strip on him for making that call. Getting cute with less then a minute left playing against Ottawa with a back up QB. An absolute rookie decision and the worst we've made in such a long time that I can't even remember such a bad call. TSN panning to the audience with the "WTF" look of disbelief. I am SHOCKED that beer cans were not tossed at O'Shea after that. Bonus bone headed play - Randolph taking a penalty for rolling on Mauldin. I thought this club was known for being disciplined?
