Every game now matters. We need to go on a run. We are looking 3rd, maybe even 4th place, dead in the eye. Can we play better than we have been? Cripes, I hope so.

yup....I meant that if we tank 2 of the 3...or even all 3....start the in season purge

In season purge? What's the point other than to look at some new guys. Vet guarantees will have kicked in and we are on the hook for there salaries. Teams are built/rebuilt in the offseason. We can't expect to save our season with new faces past the halfway point. There is no money. We can audition new faces but we can't dump salary or do much of anything meaningful. With any luck we will be very active on NFL cut down to get some guys looking to return to the CFL. KW needs to be very aggressive on that.

cause we likely aint going anywhere with the bulk of the current crew...so may as well get jump on 2026 now.....as opposed to trying tomsort out bulk of it in TC...and ya never know...maybe they gel...and slither in playoffs via a back door cross over or we stay ahead of the Lions and catch lightening in a bottle like 2019

Not so much spending money we dont have, but dropping guys who should have zero purpose here next yr and playing the guys we have, and if they cant cut it....try some more fresh blood. At the very lest some come back to camp with some actual playtime and film under their belt

I dont mind sending guys packing but we are on the hook for their full salaries if they are vets. If we shuttle out vets we may not have the money to play a new face. The only guys we can shuttle out without impact to the SMS are rookies. I believe after game 8 all veteran contracts are guaranteed for the rest of the year. If we shuttle out, for instance, a Jake Thomas we have to pay him his full salary against the SMS. That limits how much you can do really because new guys get game cheques too. Some budget is left for that for sure in every SMS, but not blow up the roster mid season money. I would rather we take that SMS wiggle room we have and Walters be active in NFL cut down.

Some guys can be shuttled now in all honesty

After 8 games..I guess back ups...6 game em...I guess eating some salary is our punishment for bringing them back 😆

Is NFL cutdown even a viable option to airlift guys in anymore? Since they expanded their PR’s down south a number of years ago you don’t really see guys come up here misdseason and make an impact.
Save an already established CFL guy like Wilson, most NFL fringe players will wait out the season waiting to get called when someone gets hurt.
It’s the guys who wait out the year and don’t get signed in the NFL by the next draft who seem to come up now.

You can airlift guys, but you really have to dig through a bunch at one position to find a gem, and you have to be willing to play them. Cycling guys on the PR won't yield any players this year.

You are right that the nfl air lifts after TC cuts is not what it used to be. We make even less of it than we could, though.

Even guys here on pr aren't gonna show you anything unless they get to play...nothing about practice will be a big reveal either..they need to see game reps

The guys willing to come up now are more the guys who didn't make it through mini-camp or have been in NFL camps previous years and are no longer getting looks.

The cuts this summer won't be up here until next season at the earliest.

4 weeks on a NFL practice roster = same salary for rookie Americans playing 18 CFL games.  They aren't in a hurry.

There really is no good solution right now. Our offseason was a fiasco. Maybe see is Myron .Mitchell picks up the phone and hope Wilson comes back. OL? Yikes. DL airlift...it's about all we got.

Congrats Sergio Castillo....you played way above the class of this club...In- season rebuild has to be on the horizon...At least give the fans something in a Cup year at home

Agreed. If we fans cannot have wins, at least give us hope that the myriad issues with this edition are being addressed.

IMO we need one more Imp. D tackle/nose...With Person, Willy and Vaughters the front improved, Lawson when healthy is good, Jake or Schmekle can rotate with Lawson, Adams has looked decent, Woods is unknown at this point, but IMO we need to look for one more interior Import...start bringing them in for looks. Then when Woods is healthy, lose one LB and add him.

Holm and Nichols are really good, Parker and Bonds are out...Vaval has shown well, Lawson needs more time to judge his play, time to look at Woodsby and Allen, at least one should make the roster and back-up at worst, and we should add one more imp DB to the PR. But safety....Parker experiment failed, Kramdi experiment is on the verge, Kelly maybe...but last game didn't inspire confidence...maybe we someone in house, if not we need to do something...

Really IMO that is all we are missing to be a really good defence

Well and if you insist on Canadians at dl, then don't waste time with a Canadian in the secondary. If you want a Canadian safety then all American on DL and get a ferocious bunch who can terrorize a qb.

I counted nine Canucks "starting" according to the depth chart. If I recall correctly, that's more than required and we've been doing this for years. Well, it doesn't appear to be working this year. Why the coaching staff doesn't even attempt to take advantage of the existing rules is very frustrating for me as a fan.

They essentially use 2.5 American spots on D for special teams.  And our kicker is American too.

And our best American receiver is probably Jerrith Sterns.

Ok Sterns, am I wrong that if he's your third American receiver, you're ok but more than that and your hooped?

Sterns would be a great option after a healthy Schoen and Lawler .. with Demski and Clercius. That's a receiving corps. But again, I have no interest in bitching about what can't be fixed. I love the conversation about where we go from here and fix it within this season.

Lose next week...start the rebuild and let the best guys play...could cross over and catch lightning in a bottle if they get a good 6..or 8 games as a group
