Seeing Jake on an island by himself being stood straight up & pushd back while he fought on his tippy toes was maybe the worst thing I ever saw as a football fan. That shoukld have told him it's time to retire but no... he coms back & Osh makes him a starter.

Jake was excellent last week vs BC. As for being a starter...that was due to injury.

The Bombers GC defensive game plan was to give Arbuckle all kinds time to hopefully confuse him and let him eff it up himself.  Zero pressure and coverage seemed off even when the game was still within reach.  Guy was coached perfectly to just take what was given… and the Bombers obliged.

It's kind of what our defence did all year tho except our secondary play was superb. We rushed 3 for a good portion of the year last year and let QBs try throw against us. It was our bread and butter, GC we laid an egg.

A strong Dline would've kept that game far closer

Our secondary having their usual game would have as well. Our defence last year was not built around the pass rush.

we were out coached on a couple levels....every loss in the Grey Cup basically was out coached and out rostered

People say "Yeah but this player and that player didnt have a good game" but many fail to realize that also comes down to coaching and preparedness...a poor scheme...plan can make a player look like he sucked....Guys cant just go rogue and do their own thing as that would compound it even more

As great and key as our coaching has been...It's also failed us big time at the biggest game....3 yrs running in my world is a bit concerning too....hopefully this yr the light went on

hmmm...is that a roster issue/decision?....😁

and the far too many times we used him at end...and may as well just fielded 11 guys as that was pointless and didnt help either

I wouldn't say excellent...i'll agree he had a few good moments and all they are is the occasionally straight ahead push but you could get that from any DT really...he has no moves...never had hand skills, and no burst or pursuit...so many times he has a push and kinda gets off his guy, but then has nothing left to finish a play...and has zero pursuit or lateral/backside pursuit ability, unless the tippy toeing he does way back of the play once it's wrapped up counts...so why not put a guy in who does that stuff?...As for this "glue" thing.....with all the vets we have on both sides of the ball we have more than enough glue...one less bottle of glue isn't gonna cause the  team  to swan dive

If they feel this need to keep rostering him then maybe 6 to 10 snaps a game would morph his pointless reps into majority good ones...but again...we could do so much better

Dane Evans had all the tools physically but his toolbox (head) was empty. He couldn't handle the pressure of being "The Guy". I don't think I ever saw a pro qb just melt into a huge blob as a player in front of our eyes. It was sad to watch.

Arbuckle should be playing much better & not make such bonehead throwing errors but he still does. If he hasn't got it by now then he never will. How the **** did we ever lose to that sack of ****? How embarassing.

Yeah, a lot of getting past the sophmore struggles is about mental toughness and desire. Evans never had that, or got it. Dru brown made his bones that way, I think thats a big reason why he should have the best year of the 3 if healthy.

In the GC, Arbuckle looked like the next break out star & now KABOOM!!!! The floor had just dropped out & his stock as a viable CFL qb is falling fast.

I didn't think he played that great, I thought we played and executed that poorly. He was in the perfect situation. If we did every thing the same, I think they would've beaten us with just about any qb with starting experience.

Truth. Also a stronger OL. If we had the argos level of coaching/execution, we would've won in a blow out with our roster though.

Got my ferry tickets (we live on VI) and game tickets (section 216 row C)!

Excited.  Want to erase the bad taste from B.C. stadium (from the Grey Cup — if it’s possible the experience was made worse by obnoxious Argo fans behind me)

I think @bluto should apologize on behalf the three people that make up their fan base.

Arbuckle didn't beat winnipeg in the grey cup,  the argos defense did full stop. Offense didn't put **** together all game and gift wrapped a pile of points for the argos.

Exactly right. Arbuckle really didn't do all that much...didn't have to do so.

Anyone know further details on Rourke?

He sucks

I kinda love the juxtaposition of Rourke being a really good QB (CFL needs good young QBs right now)... but also getting his ass kicked by the Bombers every time they play.

Was he really though?  The few plays that I did see his names he had free access to the QB and still couldn't make the play.

He wasn’t excellent, but he was solid to good till late. He did wear down some late.

think I’d rather us play rourke that Masoli.

He played a Trent Dilfer title game.  Didn't screw up and let his D carry him to victory.  Classic game manager work.

He's regressed to his mean badly this year ... I think he could have beat Calgary if he'd played up to his Grey Cup level.

Whenever I hear Lapo call an Arbuckle game, I hope he'll drop something about what he saw that made him run away from Arbuckle in 2021, when he decided that brokedown Matt Nichols was a better bet for the Redblacks.  That decision looked awful at that moment, but sure seems apt now that Arbuckle has a body of work to look at.

he had at least one pressure that I noticed.  He stunted around the end and flushed Rourke from the pocket and then Rourke flubbed the throw on the run.

Really? I'm not sure how effective Masoli is at this point.

Yeah me either. He has played us tough though. Rourke hasn’t ever. Masoli still has that lightning fast release, you can get into a lot of trouble blitzing him, and if he’s still got any thing left he can take what the D gives as well.

I’m not sweating Masoli, but I expect us to slap rourke around. I always worry about guys off the bench, if we prep for Masoli that is helpful.

Still a little jittery from the 2021 Cup?

Lol I love that ending, that was one of the best gcs in modern times imo.
I have a lot respect for what Masoli can do. And he gets up to play us. Rourke gets down when he faces us.

Absolutely insane lol I’d much rather play the guy who can barely move than the guy who needs to get the Bomber Boogeyman out of his dreams

Late part of first half of second quarter...lol

Masoli has a history of carving us up. Nothing very recent mind you, but he beat us up pretty good more than a couple times back in the day. If im not mistaken he set or tied a consecutive completions in a game record against us. Playing backups with nothing to lose always scares me(hello arbuckle). Rather play a gimpy Rourke personally.

Masoli couldn't move at all when he came in last week.  He took the snap, turned his hips and tried to find someone to throw to quick.  Never moved off that line on a single snap when he was out there.

I wonder if they'd even start him.

He was also like 2 feet away from completing a 70 yard bomb TD that would have made it a one score game with just under 2 minutes left.
