I was of the mind of 'what the hell are we doing trading for this kid Peterson' at the time....After seeing his performance last night I can see what we liked about him

Perhaps a reminder that at times coaching and management have a bit more insight into a player's abilities than we do...as much as we might hate to admit it...lol

that too...More Buck...Lapo used him as a QB and knew what he could do....Buck tho.....eeeesh....garbage

Astonishing to think Buck just used him as a battering ram. I wonder if Strev would have come back if Buck was still the OC this year. Gotta be hard to be used like a mule when you know you have some thoroughbred tendencies.

Yesterday is the perfect example of a before and after moment, jumped from end of the world discussions over roster management, to immense jubilation that everybody was wrong, except the Bomber coaching staff.

It was 100% Strevs voice yelling "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!?!" ...DT asked him about it after the game and he just laughed it off. Said in the heat of the moment, he gets intense.

Reminded of the great Pete « Who do you think you are? I am! » Weber

When they got Peterson, I thought ok a Canadian back up to Brady. Good move. After last night, its more a Canadian weapon that can team with Brady.

On the oline, they were great. We rushed for over 200 yards and had 450+ of offense.

He’s very legit. What I really liked from his running last night was that out side of his big run, he still gained great yardage consistently. He wasn’t busting 10+ or getting stuffed. He fought for yards was able to push forward a bit on some tough plays too.
Good blocker, great effort guy. Much better speed than you’d expect.

The fact we started out the year soo well with strong execution on both sides of the ball from the first bell, despite missing our qb1 and mop rb, after the mess of a month and a half to start last year is a real testament to the value they got out of camp this year. We even lost a bunch of coaches and front office guys. But despite all that this was the hungriest and most prepared team breaking camp we’ve seen since 21.

Looked like they were having a helluva lot of fun out there, contrast that with Lions who didn't even celebrate their TD's.

As well as some replaceable players. WHO is Gerbutt, Aigustin, Doberson and Wolikowski?

100%. The guys were fired up more than I saw all last year. That wants-it-more goes a long way to winning.

Every one is replaceable. But we lost some replacement level guys for sure. Garbutt and fox were actually quite good in Hamilton. In a unit that is basically all our exes.

I understand what you’re saying, but the win doesn’t mean people were wrong about their roster concerns.  We fortunately didn’t have any injuries at WR or on the D line.  Injuries there would’ve been tough to overcome, given how thin the lineup was.

I still think the roster could’ve been constructed better, but that was a fun game to be at and a hell of a win.

Bit of hyperbole there - nobody was saying it was the end of the world, just expressing their displeasure with the line-up.  The coaches may have been right but they were also fortunate.  They rolled the dice & fielded a team that was very thin in certain positions (DL, WR) but luckily they made it through with no injuries at those spots.

Trying to figure out why the defensive line looked so much better.  Is it scheme or is it Vaughters being there and Adams being another 2nd year player kicking it up a notch.

Jake Thomas coming out party. Big breakout coming up. They say it takes at least a decade to get comfortable so now we’re seeing the payoff

Lawson looks like a bigger version of Jake, hard to tell them apart if you can't see their numbers well, they play similar styles.

Funny enough. JT played pretty good. I actually saw him disturb the pocket on more than one occasion. But in a rotational role he can actually provide something, the issue is last year they were playing him like he was prime Doug Brown.

Well to be fair, pretty sure JT can crush 10 hotdogs like Doug Brown.

I actually thought he was kind of just a throw in because we really liked the global DE... turns out we may have got the two best players in that deal

I would agree with you... even the most ardent of complainers (you know who you are) weren't saying "this team sucks, we're going to lose"... but rather "a few tweaks could make this roster even better"

Considering he said he needed to get certain assurances his role would be different before signing again, I don't think he would have.

So next week do we roll with Peterson as our tailback and MCI backing him up?  Or do we sit another American down and unleash Cooley?
