  • Yeah I mean I’m not one for the political talk but can we all just please agree Donald Trump is a ******* loser ruining the world? McInnis at 250k is interesting … sure wouldn’t expect an America

Yup. I'm a critic of Osh's roster decisions, and I think Jake should have retired/been released two seasons ago. But, if anyone thinks that JT is the reason we lost 3 Grey Cups, or that a DT's impact on the game is so great it determines championships (Aaron Donald maybe), you're off base. We lost those games primarily because our star players - marquee star QB primarily - came up short. And, because we made some dumb coaching decisions in game vs only in setting the roster (let's let our star QB, who has been playing poorly, continue in the game when a finger on his throwing hand has almost been amputated). Baffling.

The biggest mistake was not having a reasonable backup QB prepared and ready to go behind Zach, still haven't heard a valid reason Dolegala was not used.  No different than any other position, have to anticipate injuries will occur and be ready with next man up.

Dolegala prob sucks and wasn’t gonna win the game. Screwed the moment Zach got hurt. Could have ran the ball but buck was already in BC mentally.

That just confirms they weren't well prepared.  Same thing could happen this season if Strev goes down again and they don't bring in an experienced vet to replace him or prepare Wilson properly with sufficient game time.  3 times the Bombers have been in a playoff situation without a plan B QB, they dodged it once when they traded for Zach, the other 2 times they failed to respond.

I think the biggest playoff problem at qb has simply been Zach has by and large sucked in the big games.

Giving him 3 recievers who couldn't run in 23' didnt help him either...who made that brain wave decision...oh yeah...osh

Buck has said Collaros told him he was good to, and he didn't have a reason to not believe him.

Scott Flagel???  Was good but does not stand out in my mind as one of the all time greats, is he even in the Bomber HOF?

And for arguments sake even if everyone on staff agreed they had a capable QB2 to come in ready to go it really felt that the only way MOS would bring in another QB would be that Zach 100% physically couldn't go, i.e., I'm sticking with Zach no matter what unless he gets carted off. Dedication to the athlete versus other viable options. Tricky balancing act.

I think that biggest issue for debate is not whether he was hurt or not, but what does it take for MOS to pull a starter whom he has great respect and admiration for if things are working well for that athlete on the field over a extended period of time?

Yes, Bombers HOF class of 2008.

3 time all-star, MOC winner, 12th all-time in take aways.  Doesn't immediately come to my mind as a great either but I'm sure there are worse in the HOF.

Copeland not a HOF'er IMO.

One great year in an all-time great offense in Montreal and a lot of underwhelming years as a #1/#2 target.  Not a big playoff performer.  Consistently good, not great.

Just around for awhile.

Like Dalton Schoen has already had two seasons up there with Copeland's best.

Zc himself said he told guys he can't throw long...also on sidelines said he couldn't really hold ball

Never threw with glove before...after 1 series "to see" shoulda been yanked

prepare Wilson properly with sufficient game time.

We lost Streveler around Labor Day last year ... we had at most half a season to get Wilson some game reps and IIRC we only had one game against Edmonton that had significant garbage time where we could have put Wilson in.  The rest of the games were 100% dogfights and all were must-win to get the Western bye.

The very bad early record in 2024 and the Streveler injury really forced us to put all the eggs in the Zach basket and left us real vulnerable to a Zach injury.

There's always plenty of excuses for not playing the backup QB in Wpg, they screwed up when they let Dru Brown play, he showed he was capable and became a starter elsewhere.  That wasn't suppose to happen, he was scheduled to linger another year or two as a backup before being replaced by a more promising rookie.

Yep 2-6 made every game meaningful

And that was last season now and that’s over so can’t go back and change time. Even if I could I wouldn’t go back to a football game that’s for sure but time to move on. Happy new year.

Paul Friesen being elected to the CFL HOF Media wing is a joke. Not deserving at all.

Right? Is it the hall of longevity?
