Really easy to always say that there's some mystical coach out there that would be a better fit.  We've been through generations as CFL fans watching teams including our own who keep believing that.

Ceresna would be a great add.

If for some reason Wynton McManis is available, he is worth all the money.

Easy to go through the All-CFL team and say, "I want him, him and him", harder to make room in the budget to do so.

If I had to chose between Lawler and Schoen....which I am 99.8767755 % certain we wont be I'd go with Lawler

Generational type guy who makes plays nobody does......but he needs a supporting cast too...Schoen had early success yes...was that gonna continue at that pace....hell no.....and there are a lot of guys like him if you do your homework....also....he gets pounded an awful lot for some reason....like a crazy amount of abuse.....is that cause he doesn't allow himself to get into a good preventative position to take a pass.....is his route running easy to key on?...none the less he is gonna be in the tub a lot and prob always playing nicked up....How often you see guys like Lawler...Tim White...Geno....and other top end guys get lambasted over and over....not as often as that

I see you crunched the numbers. Impressive.

Isn't one way (not the only one) to attract talent is longer term contracts (i.e., longer then 1 year) knowing there is a risk?

This trend of seeing more and more 1 year extensions is interesting.

Or has stability gone the way of the dodo bird?

Good thing I'm not in charge of the budget.

McManis is a guy that is worth the price tag IMO.

I don't see Streveller as a must sign.

Streveller and Dolegala are both pending FA. We need to sign one (to make 3 QBs) and I know who will I choose.

Who will they go after? Ceresna please.

I say Brickman.

According to walters, dolegala is signed.

I thought Dobson struggled last season but OL and Canadian so he’s gonna get paid. I’m not sure what they do there. They could start 3 Americans on the OL or give Wallace a shot next to big Stan and draft an oline

First few Games he did. But was excellent especially down the stretch. Room to improve, he wasn’t dominant like he could be.
I love his upside and athleticism. But I like Wallace better. Unless Dobson takes a big step this year I don’t think he will even hit his potential ceiling. I wouldn’t want to pay a young ni ol top dollar on potential.

Sounds like the OC job is either Jackson or Mike Miller. Not our Mike Miller, Toronto’s Mike Miller.

I’m not sure how I feel about not our MM. he’s shown to be a very high level positional coach. He’s under achieved on bad teams as an OC. He’s certainly fresh blood, and as had been said the Argos have trounced us in coaching the last few years.
Jackson im a big fan off. I think with our weapons and no toxic jones to over come he’d really excel here.

Honestly having MM as the worst case is pretty awesome. If it’s either of them lll be pretty happy.

I don’t think strev is a must sign. But I think he is a lock to be back. With a new oc I’d be very interested to see how he does. I really want to see that. But for short yardage we got guys and for vet back ups I like the options in free agency.

ford isn’t one as I think it’s a better chance some one else over pays him or he’s gone to the nfl. Big time want back but my expectations are low.

with schoen out to start the year Lawler is the next closest. We could get another guy that level in free agency but not nearly as good a fit with zach. Dalton I think no one is gonna give a pay day to see how he is 6 games into the season.

Don’t think you can make a bad choice tbh.
We’ve seen how lawler deals with all kinds of adversity though. We’ve also seen angry lawler going hulk mode on teams.
Daltons age might win it for me. Plus the fact we have possession guys, but we struggled greatly with out the scramble guy in schoen. I think his fit is harder to replace.

TLDR, get both lol.

135 for Holm. Seems pretty fair. Definitely could have got more somewhere else.

A little bit high, but not bad at all. I think we pay a bit more for his prime age.

I think a lil high as well...a lot of scratch tied into him....Nichols and Kramdi now.....almost half a million so hopefully that doesnt screw us elsewhere...or we bring back some dead weight cause they will take a discount

200 for WJ....If we land a Ceresna...or similar..thats another 200k at least and if we want a guy like Mcmanus well then thats basically1 million tied into 6 guys...Basically 1/5th of your sms to just field half your defensive starters

That being said that may be a good thing as it you would think eliminate Thomas...Bighill....BA who will be 6 figure guys....and even tho ScHmeck is on rookie deal....it is more than an entry level import at his position...We also have to fit Lawson's salary in there this yr too....so hopefully the decision to move on is Walters only choice if he gonna upgrade

Whoever said Brinkman is on their wishlist, I agree

Holm got 135k and Mitchell got 150k .. that tells me we’re spending in some different ways this year.

minus Schoen and lawler, i really don’t think there’s much else there. Ford and Dobson yes but nfl and $$$$$$. Think we see some legit change through free agency and prospects.

Edited by Goalie

Ford is great sure...we can survive without him just fine...and for less...it's not like we needed that Canadian starters to make ratio

I'd rather lose Ford if it means we keep Dobson to go with Wallace...Eli...Neuf
