Riders at Bombers WF Chat

Man, they're quite cocky over there right now. They played a decent game, nothing scary, we aint BC.

Jake Thomas with the lions share of snaps has 2.... just saying....

Fair point, weird year for sacks totals league wide.

But if you need to compare him to JT to make his stats pop, well.....

I am pretty sure one had the QB chased into his arms and basically he got tackled by the QB and got credit for the sack and the other was also a QB pursued into his reach.

yup...was gonna mention that...he after being tied up..spun backwards and when finally got his bearings had a QB flushed right into his waiting gut....solid contribution....and on the PPF score sheet he would have got high grades for that...as the other DT busted pocket and the ends turned the qb up to climb the pocket and escape...but get zero credit

Getting pressure was my biggest concern going into this game... needless to say it is amplified now... I expect Harris to have a lot of time in the pocket... hopefully we have something up our sleeve to mitigate this...

And if you immediately abandon your argument when someone shows you how flawed it is...well

getting pressure is one thing. Stopping the run is my biggest concern. Need to make that O one dimensional. 6 DL isn't gonna cut it imo. Saying that....I've been wrong about most of my worries pretty well all season so why stop now!!!!

Getting pressure on Harris is tough at the best of times because he gets the ball out so quick.

We had what we thought was the best Dline rostered last game against Mtl and they didn't generate any pressure it is all moot.

Agree with a few posters above that my biggest worry with the Dline is against the run. They have been susceptible to big runs all year and Armstead is dangerous. Oulette hasn't been great this year but can explode at times. (Nightmare flashbacks to the 2003 playoffs and Kenton Keith)

If it was anything else I'd be skeptical

Maybe, but there's not much of a drop-off if he's not. We didn't get pressure all year, even with Adams in. So, why the hyperventilating each week?

I don’t think anyone is saying Adams is the player to save our pressure problems, but he has 4 sacks, playing mainly as a DT, and limited snaps.   Our D line is weaker without him and we’re only dressing 6.  And one of them is Thomas.  That’s a problem.

Especially when Haba gets injured in the first quarter.

I did? Where? Admitting He's marginally better than JT stat wise is abandoning my argument? Lol 🤡

Let em talk! For the W , Always!

This is super weird being voiced by an imaging voice and not one of the players....

That's more of a whole of defense problem but if I'm another team I'm running at Jefferson all day and running RPO at him all day.  It's a free 8 yards.

If you do a stats per snap you'd see it's far more than marginally

It's Jake Thomas we're talking about still.... Low bar. I can run a 40 quicker than Jake and I'm retired and chronically ill.

Well at this point its pointless to argue who's stats are better and who should be on or off the field.  Not a Thomas fan at all and really hope he is limited in reps.

Bottom line is that these boys better be ready to play and make a statement in our barn.   Get the W and make it 5 straight cup appearances.

Yeah, not their best work.

That's got a real nice ring to it.

At least we can all agree here on MBB when everything is all said and done about our team's (Coach, Players etc) flaws is that the Riders will for ever and ever suck, amen.

(incoming @TBURGESS post to counter my Riders suck comment) . 🙂

it's not so much who is better than who...tho Thomas is by far our worst dlineman...Schmeck right with him...It's more a matter of we are dressing only 6....2 of whom are sub par at best.

Playoff football....more conducive for running....and where we are playing a QB who thrives with time in pocket, and if he can get a run game going with it....lord help us.....and we roster arguably our weakest dline rotation of the yr...by far.

I just dont see the logic...reasoning....or decision behind it

If the Bombers plan is to rush 3 with some kind of blitz packages we may have some major problems, yes we have a pretty good group of db's but they can't cover forever.

6 DL with 2 being subpar is frustrating.

Walters needs to not bring some guys back next year to save MOS from his worst tendencies.

Yup DB's can't cover for ever. Best case scenario is maybe we hear 'coverage sack'. I'll take that.

Especially when Tom Higgins still needs a job.  Are we stupid?

I’m not worried about the lack of a clear replacement, nor am I bothered by a single loss.

If we go down the same way we’ve been going down, how much longer are we just going to accept it
