East Final GDT - Argonauts vs Alouettes

Figured maybe we could use a thread specific to the warmup game

“Just like last season, the Toronto Argonauts and visiting Montreal Alouettes will meet at BMO Field with a trip to the Grey Cup on the line in Saturday’s East Division final. This will be the third year in a row that the road to the championship game will go through Toronto.

For the Argonauts, their focus is on getting back to the big game. The Alouettes are looking to break a 13-year drought since their last Grey Cup appearance back in 2010, which was also when they won their last championship.

The Argonauts are back in the playoffs for a third-straight season with head coach Ryan Dinwiddie. Toronto is also hosting its third-straight East final and is looking to reach the Grey Cup for the third time in six seasons (the 2020 season was cancelled by the COVID-19 pandemic).

The Alouettes, are making their third-straight appearance in the playoffs and first under new head coach Jason Maas. Montreal hasn’t won a divisional final since 2010, going 0-3 in that span — including two losses to the Argonauts.”

I know the sentiment is always stay with your guy to work thru it but you dress a back up QB for a reason and not just if there is an injury. It’s high time to be a bit more flexible with that. Putting Dukes in may have not resulted in anything but it also may have lit the fuse with CK if indeed Dukes did nothing then putting CK back in the game.

Cockiest team ever those Argos. Dinwiddie and the rest of them. Let’s rest our players against the Bombers and rest of CFL.

This result does not surpise me too much.  Als D has been stout all year.  Argos O has often benefitted from good field position - they were not that good.  IMO running Oulette more would have cut down turnovers and gotten them a win - he was effective.

Sad thing is he will probably get COY.

Cody Faj, Sankey, and Maas to the Grey Cup. The pain has to be real for Rider fans.

Maybe. But their D could never do what the Als did today.

9....cmon give em credit where credit is due

I'm shocked at this result TSN guaranteed that the powerful and almighty Argos were a shoe in and dynasty bound.

Historical team...

Argos asking Kelly if he remembers signing that big money contract

Quack. Quack. Quack.

Roll Faj out, he doesn’t have the arm strength to throw sideline throws like that.

I was shocked how Fajardo's throwing mechanics have deteriorated. If the Als are thinking of rolling with him next season, they need professional help. At one time Stanback was (arguably) the best running back in the league but he looks like he aged about 20 years in the past year. Slow, indecisive, and no burst of acceleration or instant change in direction.
