Going back over the years and looking back at the hold out names we drafted, that didn't work out, how about the obvious one sitting on the tsn panel Henoc Muamba....We wined and dined the guy and his family...bent over backwards to sign him ,then he did a tour of the CFL AND suddenly signed with Montreal....I still have problems with this guy, whenever I see him mouthing it up on games

My buddies and I (somewhat jokingly) talk **** about him every time we see him on the panel for this very reason...

....nice to see I'm not alone...I don't think he has many fans in the Peg....sort of a 'persona non grata' around here....and that's being kind

I'm not a huge Muamba fan either for that reason. He was selfish & chased the money rather than stick with a team through it all & go for the championships. Which is his right but there was very little loyalty there. Forget loyalty to the individual clubs as they'd cut Muamba the minute his performance started to erode. But to his teammates & brothers. The one year deals allowed Muamba to change teams every year.

A bar is a bar in Winnipeg and Toronto. Same **** really. You know what they also have more of? Meth heads. So I guess you’d be sitting in your hotel huh.

Not exactly true,  most cities push their meth heads/bums to the side and away from where tourists and people hang out.   Winnipeg is the exception where everywhere is unsafe downtown.

Also nightlife in Toronto/Vancouver/Montreal is light years ahead in terms of quantity and quality.

I don't mind that he chased the money, careers are short. I do mind him yelling his opinions on the panel. Dude is a big part of what's wrong with the TSN panel.

Yea it's like they're 'coached' before going on camera,

'okay everyone remember bring that cringe level way up, be yelly, and most importantly don't be yourself and authentic, contrive every word and movement!' Action!

I thought Muamba got better as the season went on. He started to tone things down & actually made some good points. Still don't like him. Probably never will.  I'll take TBurg;s sentence & change it to describe my feelings, "I don't mind him yelling his opinions. I do mind that he chased the dollars selfishly constantly changing teams letting his teammates & fans down". I don't respect Muamba like I do Sanchez or MIlt because of it. Muamba's legacy will always be chasing the money. That CFL tour he had was embarrassing.

Muamba got better...can tolerate him a bit...Sanchez I like...not sure why many hate on him...is it the hate of Sanchez the player?

Milton is good when not told by producers to be the antagonist or whatever it is they directing him to be

Kate...lost cause...gets worse as the yrs roll by..she truly thinks its the Kate variety show...she needs to go

every time I see Milt and Sanchez together on the panel I am hoping just a little bit that Milt pulls a Joe Kapp.

funny part thats all show and I sure that TSN kinda pushes for that...outside the TSN studio they are pretty tight

Sanchez isn't GREAT but he's more polished than both Milt and Henoc. You can tell he's got more experience speaking on camera and trying to communicate an idea. Most of th we guys just are not good communicators. You can tell they have an idea, but they just can't spit it out properly.

I'm more thinking of Milt getting revenge for some of the cheap shots he took from Sanchez over the years...but sounds like their bygones are bygones.

Sanchez has a habit of making his biases show. He likes the teams he played for but not the ones he didn't.  He's getting better at hiding his favouritism with the more experience he has. He favours the Als & the Lions the most.

I wouldn't walk downtown on or near the Stephen Avenue Mall in downtown Calgary at night. It was dangerous 20 years ago when it got dark & workers poured out of the downtown oil & gas skyscrapers using City buses or the C Train. It's even worse now over an even bigger area that includes Olympic Plaza & City Hall.

I agree. I lived in downtown Calgary for about a year in the early 90's and even then one did not dare walk the 4 blocks to Electric Avenue because of the gangs. I can't imagine it has gotten any better.

I literally walk downtown every morning at 645am. I mean I’ve never experienced any problems. I mean ppl asking for money or smokes isn’t a problem and headphones pretty much tells ppl to **** off. This fake narrative about downtown is part of the problem here. Every city has a major meth problem. It’s not Winnipeg exclusive. Calgary Edmonton Toronto Montreal and Vancouver all have the same issues. All of them. Vancouver is worse.

The night life in Winnipeg is the worst out of any of those cities by a long mile.  This was the original point from the earlier messages on here.     One of the major factors  of why downtown is dead is because of just how much of a cesspool it is and how large of that cesspool it expands. I've not been to Edmonton in many years,  but I've been to each of the other cities that you listed and those have downtowns that have areas that are light years more active and vibrant then our downtown.

Fake narrative?  The "main strip" has tent city and drunken bums and at least 50% of the buildings for lease and empty.    Show me where downtown has a pulse and where one could go without getting acosted.   It used to be "The Forks" but even that area is bad now.

Yes every city has "bad areas" but Winnipeg downtown is basically 100% bad area.

I agree on Vancouver, and it has been that way there for a LONG time. Much longer than Winnipeg that's for sure.

We have no political will to deal with our downtown or tent cities. Not sure they could do anything even if they actually tried.
