The things going on in Africa right now are important. A couple countries trying to break free from the debts that drag them down. Russia made a (imo) brilliant move in forgiving their debt while France is on their back.

This could have a major impact not only on this war, but on the world economy if Africa is able to unit.

China is actually the key partner for Africa. They've used soft diplomacy for years and have many partners, unlike the US which likes to invade to secure resources.

Russia is sending mercenaries and war, like the US.

Yes and no. War was coming either way imo. Too many outside interests in their resources. Russia included. BUT like I said, Russia has forgiven the debts. France hasn't and is still pressuring some countries to fight. Who are you joining in that situation? A country that has forgiven debts or a country that hasn't and continues to exploit you?

Neither, if I can avoid it. But, China is their friend and doesn't invade them.

Another significant  outside influence in Africa is religious fundamentalists… Christian, and Islamic.

“Uganda’s parliament recently week approved a law making it a crime for individuals to identify as LGBTQ+. The bill also provides the government with extensive powers to target gay Ugandans.

Christian extremists, often led by U.S. ministers, have been a dominant force behind this hateful legislation. Christianity is the dominate religion in Uganda with more than 80% of the population identifying as Christian. The U.S. Christian Right has been in the forefront in promoting homophobia, reconstructing African history and creating strong sexual politics in Uganda and Africa. U.S. religious leaders actively organize and fund influential African religious organizers to denounce any movement toward LGBTQ equality. In a carefully documented study, Evangelical Rev. Dr. Kapya Kaoma from Zambia followed the work of the “renewal movements” in three denominations — the Episcopal Church, the United Methodist Church USA and the Presbyterian Church. Kaoma demonstrates the ways these movements partnered with African religious leaders to destabilize progressive movements within the church and promote homophobia in Africa. The impact has been profound. Tragically, these religious efforts have been successful in painting LGBTQ people as pedophiles, “groomers,” and threats to African children.”

Other than not invading, not sure China is doing much good in Africa.

various causes, but the depth of corruption, and theft of public good in Africa …. Very sad.  First African female billionaire was a nightclub singer who married the dictator of Angola, and became head of the oil production business.

**** Cheney was charged with theft in Nigeria. Lol. Halliburton. Think Halliburton is active in albertaburton.

Putin Just Offered His Most Deranged Take on War Against Ukraine
- via Reuters
Russia’s Vladimir Putin claims the West deliberately installed an “ethnic Jew” as the president of Ukraine in order to “conceal the antihuman essence” of the country. Despite a neo-Nazi paramilitary unit fighting on behalf of Russia in Ukraine and many ordinary Russians currently mourning the death of a Wagner commander famous for his SS insignia tattoos, Putin went all in on his bonkers take. In an interview with a state TV reporter on Tuesday, he cited ordinary citizens of Israel as proof of his claim.

This makes the situation the utmost revolting, that an ethnic Jew is covering for the glorification of Nazism and those who once led the Holocaust in Ukraine, and this is the destruction of one and a half million people. And this is best understood by ordinary citizens of Israel. Look what they’re saying on the internet,” he said, without elaborating.

The US profited from the war for a very long time. If not for the Japanese attacking Pearl Habor, a US colony, they would have let the Axis take all of Europe.

Historians have commented that FDR was looking for an excuse to get the US into the war on the side of Britain and its allies. There was a strong fascist leaning during the 30's led by Charles Lindbergh and the Dupont family, and a coup against FDR was averted only by the Marine Corps commander rejecting the cabal's advances and reporting them. Entering the war and opposing the Nazis was expected to squelch pro-fascist sentiment and it did/
