2019 CFL Season: Around the League

Pre season action 1PM PT

BC at Edmonton

3 Areas To Watch

Number 2 Pivot: Who Steps Up?

BC - Ricky Lloyd and first-year Leos Austin Apodaca and Cole Sears will handle the quarterback reps in hopes of getting a leg up on sticking behind Reilly on the depth chart.

Edmonton- Danny O’Brian, Logan Kilgore, Briscoe.

- One big observation in the first week of camp is the depth at receiver. Standouts at the position have included Joey Augustin, Marquis Bundy and Mexican additions Fernando Richarte and Gerardo Alvarez. All CFL clubs are required to keep one global player on their roster beyond training camp.

- Defensive Line: Calling On Another Bookend

With Odell Willis having another strong showing in camp, the big question remains who will line up as the other bookend.

- Linebacker Adam Konar gets to battle some of his own teammates after he was cut loose and quickly picked up by the Lions on day one of camp. He’ll start at MLB

Not until they trade for NIck Arbuckle.

I always take Herb Z's whiny posts with a table-spoon of salt but here are a few of his recent tweets.

This #AlsMTL organization just can’t stand out of its own way. Fire a GM with a home game in a week ... on a two-game winning streak? I understand new ownership wanting its guy in place, but why not wait to see how the season now unfolds?

The firing of #AlsMTL GM Kavis Reed can only mean the team has been sold. With them on a two-game winning streak, hope the new ownership group knows what it’s doing

I’m told American agent Johnathon Hardaway was recently approached to become #AlsMTL GM.

Als doing a solid for the league and getting that cancerous agent out of the game.

Not sure about that, Hardaway would have an entire team to hold as ransom.

The Montreal Alouettes have removed general manager Kavis Reed of his duties.

And here comes either Jim Barker or Eric Tillman.

Would be hilarious to see what he pays draft picks and FAs

Hardaway!!????? Wow....

Issue all of the baby-sitters in Montreal tasers, immediately.

Poor Khari. Sure Kavis was a dud of a GM, but it appears Mr. Wettenhall has taken the scene from Dumb and Dumber to heart...."Just when I think you couldn't possibly be any dumber..."

This has to be a new owner move. Can't see it any other way.

Because of Joe Mack? Really?

We're not playing unless we win the coin toss!

Everybody’s assuming that Kavis Reed’s firing means that the Alouettes have been sold and that’s what the new group wanted. But what if it’s only related to Reed focusing on a career where where his talents lay? After all, wasn’t it Reed who was recently spotted trying on the new Gainer’s costume?

When does MTL move to a new stadium and their attendance goes down?

Wow Khari Jones with the power play, doing such a good job he gets the GM fired. Good on ya Khari, I always knew he would be a good choice to be a head coach.

wonder what happened, maybe Kavis wanted to keep sherman, and was overruled,  Khari takes the team and makes them into something decent.

bye Kavis. He seems to be able to land on his feet though.

anyway, hope it continues to go well for Khari.

I like arena  football, but I feel sorry for Moe playing arena league. Salaries are not very good at all.

unless it helps him come back to the CFL.

Be nice to have arena football in winter here.

Disagree.

We dont need year round football here. We also have enough teams competing for sports dollars:

Jets

Bombers

Moose

Goldeyes

Valour FC

Ice

We're good.

Shouldn't they have done this months ago with Kavis? Plus Mack, my goodness, did the entire brain trust in Montreal get their minds zapped by the MIB?

Barker would be a solid replacement. It really can't get any worse then Kavis.

Jeff Reinebold says hi.

Barker is the Ti Cat GM, I believe.  So, he'd probably stay put.

My wild guess is that it's easier to sell the team if Kavis isn't the GM. Mack was 'promoted' cuz his salary is already included in the Mgmt SMS. New owners will put their own folks in charge, but that isn't happening until after the season is over.
