In Case You Missed It

After week 20

Bye, bye - Hamilton, BC, and Montreal

Expect the Heisman Trophy winner @JManziel2 to sign in Hamilton this off-season - @rickzamperin #CFL #Ticats

John Hodge - 3downnation - The Bombers have now started three Canadian offensive linemen in two consecutive games with Patrick Neufeld filling in for an injured Travis Bond at left guard. This is likely a sign of things to come for a Winnipeg club that should look to start three national hogs next season. Neufeld, who has been excellent in place of Bond, is a pending free agent — should he leave Winnipeg this off-season, expect 2015 second round pick Michael Couture to take over his spot in the starting line-up.

?‍?Interesting - Edmonton has beaten every team in the league...except Winnipeg

?‍?Santos-Knox is fitting in quite nicely..quite a find.

CFL - Friday wire-to-wire defeat was also the first time in 52 contests the Stampeders have not led.

?‍?How do spell trouble? Z_y_l_s_t_r_a       Double trouble - injury to Matt Nichols

Vanstone - Due to an accumulation of snow on the east-side roof, 800 spectators were relocated in Mosaic stadium.

Still trying to prove something?  Jones “The tough guy look...”

?‍?Guess they’re not over the SMS

Stampeders.com - “I told the guys,’’ reported Bo Levi Mitchell. “Who’s going to remember this —— when we win the Grey Cup?    “Who’s going to remember these three losses?

Darren Cameron - Update from ticketing - “tickets are moving like crazy”... not surprising and awesome to hear! See you Sunday for the Western Semi-Final!  ?‍?Really?

Ed Tait tells us: The Bombers own a .683 winning percentage in 60 home playoff games (40-18-2). Edmonton is 19-29 (.396) in road playoff games.

Nevis was credited with just one tackle, but he drew three holding penalties with his push and was part of a defensive effort that limited the Stamps to 158 yards net offence and held battering-ram running back Jerome Messam to just 30 yards on 12 carries and zero yards on three receptions.

“Drake’s an animal,” said Okpalaugo. “He’s so strong. You should see him tossing people in practice, man.”

?‍?I’d like once again, to voice my support for Andrew Harris as the team’s most outstanding player. Rushing leader and new record for receptions? Most receptions in the entire league? Wow! But I didn’t have a vote.

?‍?Under the category of not likely...

Drew Edwards - Close to a half dozen players who spoke to the Spectator say they believe Austin’s return would significantly reduce the likelihood of several prominent free agents-to-be re-signing with the club as well the team’s ability to recruit players from around the league. They also believe it’s unlikely June Jones will return if Austin remains in his current role.

(Speedy (Banks) has been telling everybody that he won’t re-sign if Kent is still around in any capacity,” one player said. “I think some other guys are in the same boat.”)

Caretaker Bob Young - “Where is the love for a coach who took @Ticats to @CFL Grey Cup twice in four seasons?”

“This is just sad.  A cowardly Ticat player, maybe two, complain anonymously to a naive journalist about a former coach.”

Gonna go ahead and disagree with that. Neufeld is the perfect backup OL cause he can play a little bit, and play basically any position, but he's not a guy you want starting all the time, especially not starting all the time at one of your tackle positions.

at guard he is pretty solid tho, you gotta admit.  he gets hurt every 3-4 games but otherwise, lol.

we've had this discussion way too many times...Neufeld is good at everything except staying healthy. Somehow his inability to stay on the field became "he sucks", which just isn't true, nor has it ever been.

He's a solid O-lineman and has earned his keep the last two seasons as a rotating piece. Durability was a concern in the past for him and that adversely affected his stock, IMO.

For what he is, he's an important asset.

He WAS good, but then with all of his injuries he didn’t play well when called upon. Maybe being a backup for a little while has helped him get healthy and play to his prior standards.

Bond is at LG, Couture can play LG.....Guard is about the easiest position on the line. Just basically win a bar fight every snap...

Yes, but the way we play it we have them mashing. Its not about technical difficulty, its about the near 70 lbs weight difference between the two. Couture would be the type of guard youd play in a zone blocking / option offense where he would be pulling a lot.  The way we play our line having couture at guard is like playing dressler on dive plays up the middle.

Yeah newfie was straight up turnstiled with regularity last time we had to start him regularly. Hes not good. and not rotational. Remember when harris was averaging 1.8 yards per carry for the first several weeks of his time here? Newfie blocking.

The rest of the line he was part of was no heck, either. That could have affected his play.

He was the biggest problem on that line. Easily the worst.

Then start listening to me. Guy is OK as a backup, not good as a starter, the fact that he can't stay healthy is just the cherry on top. Just cause Kyle Walters loves the guy doesn't mean he was actually playing great. He is OK at best, but he's not always at his best. Guy's best situation is to be playing in spot duty cause he doesn't get overwhelmed.

Nightmare scenario.   If Bond is not ready to go Neufeld will be facing off against  Sewell frequently on Sun., if he goes down they have to bring in Couture to fill his boots and Almondo is going to eat him like Christmas dinner.  With Nichols less than 100% this could be fatal to post-season plans, it might be wise to dress Foketi as a backup for this game and flip Hardrick to LG if need be, sacrificing Washington for Coates or JFG.

In the end unless there is another possibility only two of Bond, Nevis or Poop is likely to dress.  Why they couldn't sit Knox.... I DON'T KNOW.

If Sewell goes down, Neufeld will be facing Bowers.  If Beard gets hurt Jacob ruby is up against Poop.  #mindblown

WTF.... I'd like to see the numbers behind this.

I would put the Esks at the top, but after that it looks about right.

Just caught on to the last few min here on 1260am in Edmonton.  The show hosts have totally written off the Bombers as "running on fumes" and are guzzling their own hype.

Praying for our 2nd place team to "upset" their 3rd place team...

So the betting line is Argos vs the field?

Interesting infographic since pretty much every learned scribe in the country is completely writing off the Bombers.  They are a huge underdog  even though they are at home it would appear if you listen to the media.

Is this fake news?

Or are the media just liars?

If only I had invented the internet, I would know for sure.

Good. Buncha dumbass homers. Hopefully, their team feels the same way and underestimates their opponent come Sunday.

The media is increasingly populated by uninformed hacks, except for Noeller.

There are a few things peculiar about them, but the idea that Toronto should get out of the East without too much difficulty while the three teams in the West will be part of a brutal dogfight that anyone could win, that seems like a reasonable theory.

You may want to consider - that most of the guys he was starting with have been starters for all of this year - on an outstanding OL.

Anyone who doesn't remember what happened when Bond Replaced Newf was just not paying very much attention.

I think they're insane if they don't dress Foketi - OL should be last position that is sacrificed.

Yes, and has been predicted to get an NFL shot since the beginning of this year...

and he should. Bond is an awesome player.  I will miss him, but don't begrudge him his shot at the big time.
