Roc Carmichael

On 1290 this am it was pointed out how little ball presence Roc has when a deep ball is in the air .... he seems to be right close with the receiver but ends completely out of position as the ball arrives ....  again too many of the big plays against us were RocResponsible

He's still pretty new and has had to bounce around. He played well before at CB but didn't have a good game yesterday.

MOS likes him and that says something. I'm willing to give him more time but would prefer he's replaced by Alexander, when he's healthy.

Not sure what he was thinking positioning himself behind Stafford in the end-zone, generally the throw doesn't  come from that direction.

he just seems clueless in the fight for the ball

I only noticed 2 plays against him. 1 was a TD. 1 it looked like Walker should have helped out more.

The TD was just desperation trying to stay close, the other one he was behind the receiver which is fine it was walker coming over who also went behind that was the error there in my opinion. Walker should have under cut the receiver and tried to disrupt the pass or failing that put your shoulder squarely in the guys ribs as he goes up see how he likes that. As it was he did nothing on that play.

Either way, Walker and Rocky are both young and inexperienced.......I'm not overly concerned about either.

I thought it looked like he overran it thinking the ball was going to end up deeper in the endzone and at the last minute tried to adjust but Stafford had boxed him out.

That deep one on 2 and 25 Walker was in position to lay out Williams but stay back looked like he was hoping that the ball would be deflected to him.

Getting Alexander back should solidify that side of the secondary. It's good for Carmichael to hace some experience. But we are getting deeper on the season and as they say the true season comes Labor Day.

did the same thing on a pass to the sideline. So he's right there with the receiver,  at least.

Maybe he can watch Randall video for four hours a day till the next game.

or this might be right: cause it makes sense.

I'm going to watch the tape before I say anything.

Roc is 28 and turning 29.  He is not young like walker (21 years).  I hope alexander pushes him off the roster asap.

This is  more in my line of thinking. 2  defenders deep, Walker was deeper. He has to hold that position and make the tackle. It was a jump ball, it's fairly tough to make a play when you're the smaller defender as was Carmichael. As Davis Sanchez points out, it would be better to play the ball on the way down when you're smaller...to knock the ball out of the receivers hands, not try and jump when you have  the inferior height.

You still have to give credit to the receivers, they make the plays, as is what happened then. The one in the end zone  (jump ball) was BS. luck - that does happen once in a while.

He makes terrible plays on the ball half the time, and the other half he just gets flat out beat. This experiment has gone on long enough, we're halfway through the season and this weak link needs to be off field.

He doesn't have the advantage of a Canadian passport like Hurl does.

How many TD's/big plays has this dude given up?

Sadly, I think he plays until a better option returns from the IR.

gets lost in the air, please put Fogg in.

Not if Carmichael plays at CB. I don't think Fogg plays the corner, anyway. So, no... I don't think he'd be a better option in that instance.

Carmichael has had more than enough time to get experience and learn the game it just is not working out he wont get any better, we may not have anybody in house to replace him either we fleece the Argos again or get lucky with an NFL throw away.

Carmichael seems to hanging around opposing receivers whenever there is a big score or explosion play against us, so I could see Hall and MOS making a move.

if you can play HB (as Fogg does) you can play CB.

Was busy at work but in general cb is the easiest db position to play and besides O'Shea said all the dbs have taken reps in every spot.

Taking reps in practice doesn't mean much. Has Fogg ever played corner?
