Tiger-Cats @ Argonauts

Interesting to see if an all East game can offer up the same amount firepower as last night.

Uneasy feeling as a Cat fan. Week one shouldnt be a must win for anyone but TOR might feel desperate to give a struggling market something to feel god about right away. Argos might be hungrier as a result

Two starters missing in HAM secondary. Demond Washington makes debut.

Ex Cats on TOR defense, Bear Woods should provide enough for TSN to flog whilst they're not flogging Ray, Green and Trestman

  • From the very get go Ricky Ray has had about the nicest touch on the ball in the league. He can just drop it where ever he wants it to go, things fall apart for him like they do for most qbs when he's

  • Sure love the SJ Green comeback, though. Dude was vintage in his first game back. Great to see. Hope he stays healthy and vacuums up a lot of those soft Ray throws.

Gotta feel for Collaros. He's trying but he looks like a rabbit on the freeway.

Trestman can take ?And turn it into a ?

I don't think Ray or Collaros are going to survive the year, every time Ray gets hit you can't be sure he's getting back up and Collaros better practice the "Drew Willy throw away" as he's going to need it a lot.

Hamilton receiver Elliott spins the ball after a six yard gain and shows bravado. Yeesh.

Ray is Ray, but the Hamilton D looked like pure junk, today.   OL didn't look much better and Austin still never met a running game he likes.

You would have to think Austin is on the hot seat this season. One more medicore/under achieving year and you would think its time to go another direction..

I guess that I was wrong about Ricky Ray then.

To be determined - stiffer task against the Lions next week - not going to say I was right just yet

Reinbold's D is crap.

Especially since the D should have the upper hand early in the season - not looking good for Hammy.

If I'm not mistaken Reinbold only lasted a season as DC in Montreal and they had a down year.  HAM better hope Kanneh and Davis get healthy and live up to the hype because that secondary was atrocious.  OL was nothing special either although I think TOR has a real good front 4... if Bomben is out long term, look out.

how does this guy continue to get work?  I will never forget how he gutted the Bombers after so many years of CFL dominance.

He's been the S.T. coordinator in Hamilton since 2013 and has done a decent job.

Well, JR was a originally an S.T. coach....before he was handed the keys to the Bomber football operations.    So there are appropriate levels and appropriate levels depending on the person.

Rickey burned the Cat's real good....Let's see him duplicate that against a ball hawking club like ours....I'd say the percentage of completions drops off enormously ...Looking forward to that game IF the argos's  are chucking them up like that...heh heh.. I can see Leggett licking his chops already and a few of our other secondary people.

It's not like QB's had terrible completion percentages against us last year. Yes we had lots of picks, but man did we let QB's pick us apart on any play that wasn't a turnover. Hoping this year the D line can manage some pressure to help the secondary out. If they can't Ray could pick us apart.

Well maybe.....but that might be considered a wildly optimistic prediction of the outcome.  On many of those passes Ray threw up, the poor Hammy DB's had no earthly possibility of preventing their completion.  When a receiver like S.J. Green goes up 10 ft. in the air to bring down balls with one hand that you can not even touch, it's fair to say it's going to be an extra-long workday.  The Bombers best strategy is to instill a fear of Loffler breaking their rib cage mid-flight if they go vertical.

I can see Reinbold fired before week 9, if their D will not improve.

They have similar problems on offence and I'm not sure Ptaszek lasts the season either.

After all of those years of watching SJ Green do that to us with literally no ability to stop it, holy crap is it nice to do that back to someone else.

Going into this game I had exactly zero idea of what I was going to see. Could've literally been anything and I wouldn't have been surprised. But of all of the possible outcomes, I'd have rated "go out there and win all phases of the game and look stylish on the way to a lopsided win" as the least likely.

To be sure: Hamilton was a mess. Could've been a week 1 thing... could've been that they didn't get the team built in the offseason and have deficiencies ... could've been that the Argos are a cut above and make them look bad (wouldn't have considered that a possibility before yesterday, but it's up for discussion now).

Better competition on Friday. We'll see how she goes.
