All I can say without knowing the details about Trump threatening Iran is that it's 3 weeks to the election & looks like he'll probably lose so it's nothing but bluster. Not sure about this ... SDNY is part of the federal government, and would bring federal charges against Trump. But the current grand jury working on cases against Donald Trump in New York is State level. He would need to cut an entirely separate deal with New York State.
