I agree with you that Hefney was the best player on that defense... the punt return stats are what put Jovon over the top that year...

I can't stand the Nuge... but that is a great song...

I don't mind Singleton at 9... but I really hope we don't see 6 O-line go in the first 8 picks... no team is more O-line desperate than us...

Losing the picks is what hurts them much more than losing the players...

Not sure who this guy is... but other than the fear of Bouka's availability, I wouldn't mind if this is how the Bombers first 3 picks played out... http://lastwordonsports.com/2016/05/03/cfl-mock-draft-version-3/

Just reading the Ed Tait article... “Playing with Jovon (Johnson), Alex Suber, Clint Kent, Joe Lobedahn, Doug Brown, Odell Willis, Jason Vega, Phillip Hunt before he went back to the NFL, Ian Logan, Johnny Sears, Deon Beasley… I’ll never forget the guys we had on that defence. " That's an impressive group of guys we had on the D that year...

I think I have the same feeling as most here... I almost want to feel bad, but then I remember it's the riders.... But I'm still confused... everything I've heard from Rider fans is that Saskatchewan is the mecca of all things football and it's every football player's (Canadian and American) dream to have the honour to pull that puke green jersey over their watermelon helmet and call themselves a member of the greatest organization in the history of sports...

Actually a pretty good idea... if it was possible...

Onyamata probably wasn't high on anyone's draft board anyways... EDIT: for some reason this empty Jpan quote text box won't go away...

nothing more entertaining than reading fan-suggested, unrealistic, dream-scenario trade suggestions...

I agree that you can never have too many good centres... but keep in mind Connor is a centre... and Little and Scheifle are still pretty darn good players... then there's Lowry, Copp and a few other prospects for the bottom 6... so while Matthews would be a fantastic addition, I am very happy adding a high scoring, top line winger...

You're right, there is plenty of interesting info in there... it's just surrounded by so much "Lapo is so great" and "everyone is so happy and excited to be here"... I wish he would tone it down on the unabashed optimism and keep it more information based... just my opinion...

I love optimism as much as the next guy.... but these DC pieces are getting to be too much... enough talk, let's prove it on the field...

I would be more excited about this if Ed was covering the Bombers full time for an independent source... while I look forward to reading his opinion/editorials, you have to imagine his bias will be towards the team...

The top 4 on that list all have a shot at being drafted in the NFL... if not drafted, I think they'll sign as UDFAs.... I wish they would expand the list to top 30 or 40, cuz this is really a top 15 when you take out NFL prospects...

I like the idea of getting the goal posts out of the way... but with a 20 yard end zone, it just won't happen.... basically eliminates the kicking game...

This morning too... I know I woulda bought a coffee!

I was also at the mini camp this morning... IMO There wasn't really anything noteworthy... the new additions, Smith, Harris and Dressler all looked pretty good, as expected... they're playing against no D so hard to get a good read... I did notice Dressler playing at the WR spot and Smith in the slot.... likely just experimentation but it could be that they're trying to reduce Dressler's punishment... FWIW this was today's "starting line up"... OL: Bryant - Lawrence Martin - Goossen - Chungh - Neufeld WR: Dressler - Smith - Ernest Smith - Adams - Kohlert QB: Willy (shocker alert!) RB: Harris (Lochard took some reps with the first team)

Good player but has he ever played 18 games in a season?... Cory Watson-esque maybe....

This sounds like great news... rule differences aside, I can see this being beneficial for both sides...

Don't discount Jones' scouting staff... I wouldn't be surprised if they have at least one quality rookie wr this year...

You basically just described the problem every team in the CFL has... it's called the ratio...

I think we all know that's exactly what it was...

I don't see anything wrong with it... he was the head coach of the defending champs... kinda similar to Brandon Saad (Columbus) and Johnny Oduya (Dallas) joining the Blackhawks at the white house this year...

I'd probably argue the secondary is the strength of this team... and that's not an indictment of how bad the team is overall... IMO our secondary would be a strength on most teams in the league...
