  1. Still don't expect the Cats to win but at least its not a complete blow-out.
  2. This game could be over by half-time and Stewart is definitely wearing the horns today.
  3. No one has to "support a gay lifstyle"- all people have to do is treat them the same as everyone else with the same rights and priviledges. Sexuality is not a digital either "perfectly straight" or "totally gay" choice. Sexuality is an analog thing along a sliding scale and homosexuality exists in the animal kingdom as well. I have seen a few examples of homosexuality in animals, but only when the other option wasn't available. I have also seen bulls and boars beat each other into a bloody pulp. At any rate, I don't think comparisons to the animal kingdom help homosexual rights very much. For example, many male mammals and birds do nothing to help raise their offspring. Do we then use that example to defend deadbeat dads? As my last comment on this- homosexual behaviour in animals (including primates) is not contingent on a lack of choice of partners- it appears to be innate. If you think that being gay is a matter of choice, ask yourself: when was the time when you found yourself equally attracted to both genders but made a conscious decision to go one way or another?
  4. But it rose to the surface as his career wore on... Roberts was a once in a generation talent, Grigsby is just another easily replaceable part. Roberts was great but he could have been a CFL legend,

The problem is that some politicians and religious leaders curry favour with neanderthals by bashing gays while indulging in questionable sexual practices themselves in secret.
  6. January has been one of the few bright lights on the O-line for the past few years, but ain't nobody gettin' any younger, so by all means, we need to push him and all the others on the O-line, be they import or non-import.
  7. Barring a complete implosion of epic proportions, O'Shea has to be safe until at least the end of next season. All coaches are on borrowed time and darned few leave on their own terms, but O'Shea's achilles heel may be his stubborness and being unwilling to change things /people when they are not working. I agree that it would be a very bad sign if we go into next season with the same cast as this year. Change for the sake of change is pointless but change when it is warranted is a good thing.
  8. White men can't jump. I disagree with this. Just ask my wife how I react when she tells me to do something. She has a whim of iron.
  9. Heck if Cortez managed to survive in Regina, Winnipeg ought to feel like heaven by comparison.
  10. I thought I heard somewhere that they will never take away our freedom. Can't be sure because the dude talked funny and really really loud. But if we are not vigilant, they may take away our lutefisk.
  11. There is a certain % of the population who have a pathological need to see "not us" as "lesser than us"or even sub-human and this is not exclusive to hostility towards gays. These biased individuals can hate blacks, asians, women, catholics, francophones, natives, even the physically disabled. This part of the population is consistently about 10-15% and have a need to compensate for deep-seated doubts about their own competence or sexual confidence. If they do not direct their hatred against gays because there are none present, they will look for other targets. These are individuals who have been indoctrinated by familial or group culture and choose to not question their beliefs. Worse yet, there are those like Fox/Sun News and their ilk who seek to profit from fanning the flames of hatred. The ironic thing is that often the most vocally homophobic individuals have barely repressed homosexual tendencies (like Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker).
  12. And, according to some, Obama is not only Hitler but also the Anti-Christ.
  13. There are so many pro-grade players in the 330,000,000 US of A that the difference between making the team and not can be simply whether or not the coach like the colour of your eyes. Sam may be good but he would have had to be outstanding to be a lock on any team. He could be a good addition to the Als and bring some more good media attention to the league.
  14. Does this mean that BC Lions are in trouble for announcing about Benevides than? I think that blackout is the week leading up to the Grey Cup, so they should be fine Well, we've had 3 weeks to sort out our coordinators & haven't made any kind of an announcement either way. This delay confirming that the coordinators will either stay or go is difficult to understand. Does it take that long to determine of they are worth keeping or not?
  15. I just call them boob's. Wouldn't that be a bloob or a glog?
  16. Pft, get away with your facts man. Seriously though, if the Bombers had an OC who could manage a two back system, he'd still be here and we'd be a better team for it. Two weeks ago he literally ran over Bear Woods and knocked him on his ass. Love it not so much for Grigsby but its how much I hate Woods. If you can catch someone off balance its not that hard to knock him over- even a 230 lb person. I`still not overly impressed with Grigsby even though he looks better in Hamilton than he did here.
  17. Considering Lauren`s size, gender and the position he played, I would be vary careful about casting aspersions about his masculinity. He might tear your arm off and beat you to death with it.
  18. Ah, the good olds days of summer....
  19. If Edmonton had any fantasies about competing in this game, they can put them to rest now.
  20. It's obvious that Reilly wasn't going to have a long term CFL career, but Jones is doing everything he can to expedite that process. Which brings the pocket passers vs. scramblers debate to mind... The best is the intelligent use of a QB scramble who has the pass as the usual first option, but can roll out with the option to pass or run a few times during the game. It seems to me that QBs who see themselves running as at least an equal option every play get beat up real fast.
  21. If I were Huffer, I would be looking at giving Tate some playing time soon to tune him up and maybe even showcase him a bit for a possible off-season trade.
  22. Yup. If I were starting a franchise and was allowed to take one player from any team it would be BLM. The thumbscrew and rack for you, too.
