  1. Walker is quick, i'll give him that, and he even caught a few passes, but in all of his gallops, he didn't have to break any arm tackles or any sort.
  2. Thanks for the highlight clip. In it nichols looks like the QB I remember from a couple of years back- mobile, good arm and decisive. I wonder what happened-did Kavis Reed screw him up?
  3. A frsh start for Nichols may make a big difference. He had obviously worn out his goodwill in Deadmonton, and I hope he still has his self-confidence. Gale looked pretty decent in his limited field time, and from the looks of the perfomances from Brohm and Marve thus far, we would be way better off whith Nichols and Gale, particularly if they cost functionally nothing.
  4. Oooh. My nipples are hard.... Did I miss the Lemon signing? I was going to say the same thing. I don't remember us signing Lemon yet. Don't jump the gun guys. Also Brohm on and starting, with Marve being injured... I don't think that's a guarantee at this moment, really wouldn't be surprised if Davis starts. Honestly, i know it's day 1 but.... at the same time, if Brohm was definitely going to play, wouldn't Oshea say he would be instead of saying it's down to Brohm and Davis really? Report from today's practice have Brohm and Davis taking reps. with completions in the range of 25%. Game ready, then.
  5. Fixed it for you.
  6. Did Miller say which year or decade he was expecting this Grey Cup run?
  7. Oooh. My nipples are hard....
  8. In all likelihood, the GM has to rely on his coaches' assessment of the current talent and the resulting need (if any) for improvement. Either O'Shea and Co. believe that what they have is good enough or no one better is available. I have a hard time believing that no one better was/ is available.
  9. if the back is experienced but not good enough is it worth it? I'd rather try a rookie out. That's how we got Marshall. If you keep using retreads you'll never find any good rookies. At this time of year especially you should be bringing in rookies for a look see unless you're planning on going deep in the playoffs and want that veteran insurance policy.I truly believe Walters and O'Shea are still pushing for a Grey Cup run this season. You forgot to use the sarcasm font.
  10. Probably after we lose the LDC.Well, there is the old theory that bringing in a former member of the team you're about to be playing is a good idea...to gain inside knowledge.Sunseri would have good knowledge of who to throw to on the Bomber team. At least, that's the impression I get...he always seems to be throwing to the other team. Maybe it would be good to sign and start Sunseri. He might start throwing strikes to Bombers thinking they are the other team.
  11. Why release Tino now? Is Glenn coming back? They may be making a point- that incompetence will not be tolerated indefinitely. A message for the Bombers here?
  12. I listened to the presser on 1290 at noon today and a few things stood out. The head of the board denied that Taman had ever asked to fire Chamblin before yesterday, but when Taman came forward to get permission to do so, the board decided to make it a two-for-one special. One of the big concerns of the board for some time has been Taman's financial management- particularly the salary cap management.
  13. Chevon Walker's signing is little short of bizarre. He's quick but cannot break tackles, catch or block. WTF is going on at Bomber HQ- has someone spiked the coffee maker?
  14. Well looks like your going to get your wish MOS leaning towards Brohm to start. Not sure if I should laugh or cry. If Brohm starts, I am going to do something I have never done in 40+ years- not watch the game. A start by Brohm would be a clear signal that we are undeniably hooped for the rest of the year.
  15. True. Sad, very sad but true. No fault of Marshall's though.
  16. The strange thing is that apparently Taman went to the board to get permission to can Chamblin and was denied and now both are out the door. Very strange. It is a legitimate rap on Taman about the lack of new talent, but he did have the foresight to sign Kevin Glenn and there were a few good players popping up in Regina, like Swain. Even with Smith at the helm, the Riders were still putting up good numbers offensively. The defence has massive leaks but the Riders were still in almost all the games they have lost this season. But the precendent has been set and the collars in the Bomber coaching ranks have gotten tighter.
  17. Lets no assume that criticism of the Bomber coaches are ad hominem attacks on their personalities. We know little or nothing about their personal lives and whether they eat puppies or kick little old ladies, but they are legitimately open to criticism of their results. Last year the vast concensus in this forum was that Etcheverry showed himself to be completely incompetent all season and yet O'Shea took until til Xmas to figure that out. O'Shea is not responsible for all that is wrong withthe team but he hired Etcheverry and hired (and kept) Bellefeille, and has to be largely responsible for the sad assortment of backup quarterbacks we have. There is broad concensus here that Bellefeuille is a large part of our offensive problems and if we can see this, as we did with Etcheverry in 2014 but O'shea cannot, that is a terminal problem.
  18. As badly as Marve stunk last game, it may be too soon to write him off. When I was into martial arts, I arrived at the dojo one day to find that a 6th degree dan from Japan was visiting and was offering to go a round with anyone who wished. I was only a brown belt at the time, and took the bait, but was nervous and iintimidated as all get-out. In short, he wiped the floor with me despite being so old that his skin was almost transparent and spotting me about 60 pounds. One of the other brown belts arrived late and was invited to go against the master without being told all about his credentials- all my friend knew was that he was up against a 70-something 160 lb black belt. My friend lost as well , but put up a real fight, but I had beaten my friend on several occasions, so I ought to have done much better. But I didn't and it was all nerves, so maybe, just maybe Marve is better than we have seen, and if (and thats a big if) he can get his head together he might have a career here. Surely to God he has to be better- if he was that inept in college, he couldn't have made the team as the waterboy.
  19. There are two things which will doom us unless changed: pathetic quarterbacking and Marcel Bellefeuille. Should O'Shea decide that Bellefeuille is the best coordinator for the offence and things do not improve (a likely scenario), the the affable O'Shea has signed his own death warrant.
  20. Doesn't address the two slugs we have on the D-line.
  21. UGH. Another nail in the coffin.
  22. Who of those 3 is covering a slotback? Bass or Wild. I don't know if Simmons has the speed.
  23. We're going to have to wait a long time for January.
  24. If Simmons is as good as he was with Ottawa, the thought of a Simmons-Bass-Wild linebacking corps makes me positively giddy.
  25. To paraphrase Charlie Brown:" We need all the help we can get"
