Wrong.  Hamilton fired Marcel after the 2011 season, fired Cortez after the 2012 season and hired Austin who has taken them to back-to-back Grey Cups and are favorites to return to the Grey Cup.  
 
Edmonton made several changes in recent years to their coaching staff and GM the past half-decade and they now have a coach in Chris Jones and GM in Ed Hervey who have made them a winner and Grey Cup contender the past few seasons.
 
If the Bombers continue to struggle the rest of the season, O'shea will be fired and deservedly so.  It's shouldn't be that hard to make the playoffs when 6 of 9 teams make it and one of those teams is an expansion team.  With regards to Walters, he will be given his three years and if the Bombers fail to make the playoffs next year he will be fired and deservedly so.  I don't think there is a GM in the history of the CFL that has survived 3 consecutive seasons with no playoffs. This would not in any way effect the past talent accumulation of the team, in other words NOT back to square one.  If the talent is there, then it will be kept on the team.  IF it is lacking, as it was under Joe Mack, then there will a purge, but that should not be construed as a setback for the franchise as keeping on an incompetent GM is simply delaying the inevitable
 
Waiting year after year, hoping a struggling GM and coach will somehow get it right if given enough time flies in the face of logic.  Ignore the past at your own peril.

I don't know how anyone can honestly believe Marcel Bellefeuille is a good offensive coordinator who deserves to keep his job.
 
His gameplanning and ability to utilize players properly is absolutely atrocious. We sign Chevon Walker this week and dress him ... never believed it was a smart move to begin with ... but at least give the guy a chance to make an impact. His assets are best used when you get him into space and what does MB do? Call plays to run him up the gut the entire day. What a joke.
 
Don't even get me started on Nick Moore and Clarence Denmark, who are stud receivers who have basically been brought down to the level of short yardage possession receivers. Two touchdowns between them all year. Find a way to get these guys open.
 
Last time we threw a touchdown to a receiver? August 9th. On a sweep. It's a joke. This offense is honestly embarrassing, it's getting worse and I find it insulting that anyone within the club expects any of us to believe it's not Marcel. Is it just a coincidence that he's done the exact same things anywhere he has ever been? Is it just the players every time? Biggest coincidence in the world that no matter where he goes, stud players end up looking like garbage?
 
For as good as Drew Willy can make this offense look periodically, I want to flip it around and pose a question to everyone - can you guys imagine how good Willy could look in a REAL offense?

Other teams put punts up the middle on occasion......and it is not an automatic TD.   But that said, everthing about the ST's ....from the kicking to the coverage, to the kick returns, to all the dumb penalties..... has been subpar
 
On the other side of the field.....Brohm, to some extent..... actually did what he was supposed to do in the Marcel O - completed the balls underneath and avoided turnovers.    Think about it.  And be very afraid.

It's not a scheme problem when the punter puts the ball between the hashmarks. Make one guy miss and it's a TD.

Folks who want to keep O'Shea on if he doesn't make the playoffs this year don't seem to understand the lessons that history teaches us.
 
The list of rookie HC's who didn't make the playoffs in their first 2 years who didn't get fired has to be very small. 
 
The list of rookie HC's who didn't make the playoffs in their first 2 years and then went on to become good to great HC's is equally short. 
 
I'm not going to go through all the HC's in the last 20 years for all the teams, but I can tell you that the first and the second list contain exactly zero members when it comes to Bomber HC's in the last 20 years. Maybe someone who thinks we should keep O'Shea can go through the rest of the league and let me know if either group has ever happened in the CFL in the last 20 or so years.

If MOS goes 7-11 last year & say 5-13 this season how can the team sell patience? The record means that in 2 seasons there's been no improvement whatever. If Miller thinks he can stand pat with this group managing, scouting & coaching the team then he's in a dream world as fans won't buy it. There'll be 15,000 fans at IGF next season & it'll be a disaster. I understand what you're saying 17 to 85  but the team can't realistically stand pat if that happens. Futility means changes. The more futility the more there are changes. That's the nature of the beast here.

I agree, but regardless of it being an ultra conservative game plan with little creativity, I'm sure his reads included Moore, Denmark, Kohert etc.  He didn't get them the ball. That's not all on the OL line. He takes part of that accountability.

So how can an expansion team in their second year be in a playoff spot with a better record than the Bombers?  What process are the RedBlacks utilizing that they can start from scratch 1.5 years ago and be a more talented team than the Bombers today?

Maybe I'm missing something, but what exactly has he done to make him a 'voice of change'? As I'm writing this, I just saw two tweets from him about having Wade Miller more involved in football operations. That's it.
 
On that point: I think Miller should be involved when hiring and firing (as in, now he should fire Walters and Osh), but I don't think he should be involved more in other football operations. Contrary to what Morley wrote, that's not how good organizations operate. Each person has a role to play. Football ops are left to the GM and HC. When those are not done adequately, then its up to the CEO to replace them and find guys that can do the job better.

Actually the guy on the staff (you're referring to) is the only guy who HAS been here those 3 1/2 years .. and can be accountable for that record you keep trotting out.
He's part of the problem.

You don't hire someone knowing that their ceiling is 9-9. That's absolutely ridiculous. 

He may have been the least of our problems but when you fail to stretch the field, if only to keep the defence honest, keep checking down or throwing underneath .. you're not the solution .. there's a reason our running game can't get going .. teams don't respect our ability to pass the ball.

The running backs were given an opportunity to carry the ball throughout the game and what did they manage.  2 gains of 5 yards with the rest falling in the range of 0 - 4 yards gained.  You go on and on about the lack of running plays every week despite evidence that the team is gaining very little from the run.  If they called 4 or 5 more runs a game they wouldn't end up gaining any more significant yardage and the drives would still stall.  The o-line is simply not good enough.  But go ahead and insist that the Bombers should call 25 -30 runs a game when they average 3 yards a carry.  Winning strategy bud.

The defence put the offence in position to score 7 of those points. The offence showed ZERO sign they were capable of sustaining any sort of drive from the second quarter on.

The Bombers have to realize that they are in the entertainment  business and by putting this type of product in the field they are going to hurt their bottom line, not this year because the Grey Cup will probably save them but next year the season tickets sales are going to take a pounding. When the most entertainment at Bombers game is at the Rum Hut and people are not even interested in the game you've got a big problem.

Have to agree with the poster who suggested that there would be a riot (or simply a bleakness that overcomes the fan base) if MB was to be promoted to HC. It will never happen.
I like and respect O'Shea. I believe players respond to him. That said, his downfall will be in hiring a weak staff. They corrected the problem on the defensive side of the ball this year in hiring Hall. That unit has gotten steadily better but you can see the frustration growing there. Yet, the O goes two and out after two and out with seemingly little accountability .. that's tough to swallow and I don't think O'Shea will get to correct that mistake.
I have a lot of thoughts about the org as a whole but am just on my phone right now .. maybe if I actually care enough when I get to a computer. I'll put them down.

Promoting MB to HC would be the absolute stupidest thing this club could do.
