WildPath reacted to Zontar in Andrew Harris suspended for 2 games
Laughs and lectures from a fanbase that supported the signing and employment of Dwight Anderson right up to the last possible moment is, well, frustrating.
It's like when your dog barfs and he eats it. You know he's a dog, dogs do that, but it's like, cmon, be better

Booch is doing the trick in easing my concerns on this matter. Seems you really know what you're talking about. Is there anyone in the public eye willing to make the same claims?

AS someone who has first hand knowledge of this from my past...as have used..and saw back when teams actually encouraged and administered to you if you wanted and it so I have to side with Andrew for a few reasons
Teams gave a very thorough tutorial so to speak on what each drugs duration in your system was and where it would show test wise..blood..urine and the drugs half life. Also from testing protocol when urine and blood test are administered...and came back clean like they did then the athlete wasn't using...the only other thing that could be done above and beyond that to go one step further is fat samples as it lingers there...but that is never done
...and then a subsequent urine test 10 days later came back with minimal traces of it showing??...makes no sense and has to be some type of contamination or a bad test....even with an oral steroid taken immediately after his first test..the weakest of the weak would show large amounts in system for at least 14 days...undeniable amounts
Also the drug he is apparently accused of is pretty much impossible to get now...more or less discontinued other than from black market suppliers...And I have never heard of a professional athlete going that route to get a drug...basically not made from a legit producer...way to many risks in that.
Thats also why we got an extensive list of supplement companies as well where their "proprietary" blends of ingredients didn't actually say what amount of what was in it..or even if all ingredients are even listed..also as odd as it may seem that industry isn't even regulated, and companies can put whatever they want in their stuff without any recourse, or inspection and things are only pulled off shelves or investigated after reports of questionable things....sadly a lot of time that is deaths or serious health issues

WildPath reacted to Eternal optimist in looking ahead-LDC
Many people, myself included, find special teams weird. Saskatchewan has both benefited from, and been the victim of, special teams play this year:
The good:
- Lead the league with best kickoff return average (31.5 yards per return, MTL is worst with 18.1, OTT is 5th with 24.2)
- Lead the league for fewest yards allowed per kickoff return (17.6 yards per return, TOR is worst 27.6, WPG is 5th 23.3)
- Lead the league in punting average (49.0 yards per punt, TOR is worst 41.5 yards per punt, MTL is 5th 44.5 yards/punt)
The bad: SSK is dead last in several special teams categories (per CFL.ca, up to week 10):
- They are ranked 8th in punt return average per return (9.0 yards per return, WPG is best at 13.0, OTT is 5th at 12.4 per return)
- Tied with BC and CGY for most kick return TDs given up (4)
- They give up a league-worst 18.3 yards on average per opponents kick return (WPG is best 8.3 yards/return, TOR is 5th at 10.8 yards/return)
- They have the worst kickoff average (57.6, MTL is best with 69.4, TOR is 5th 63.3 yards/kickoff)
Surprisingly, SSK is actually second-fewest in special teams penalties (16) behind only WPG (14)
Personally, I think just like this past weekend, there will be one or two crucial plays or lapses in judgement (resulting in penalties) that dictate the outcome of the game. Should be a good one.

Actually McCallister is even more like Willy. 6'6 lean and fast, awesome inside move he made last night to get in the passing lane to knock that one down last night.

I never at any point in my life played any kind of organized football, and I feel like at least once a week Booch teaches me something new about the game and I'm very appreciative of this...

WildPath reacted to johnzo in Block of the game
check out this beauty block by Bighill on the Rios pick six.
Ball is tipped, Gable standing around, Bighill and Rios are barely in the frame, but they get on their horses...
Rios grabs the ball, Gable is still kinda ambling around, but he's in position to touch Rios down...
Nope. Bighill runs past Gable, spins 180 degrees around at full speed, gets both hands on the only guy who can make the tackle.
And so...
Just love watching these guys rally to each other. What a team.

WildPath got a reaction from Tracker in GDT - Bombers vs Esks
Pretty sure I've heard Irving or O'Shea talk about how tough Gray plays and his ability to just stop at the whistle and not engage with others. Definitely saw that a few times this game and it cost Edmonton.

Jason maas is a professional victim. Always some unfair thing happening to him.

WildPath reacted to Bubba Zanetti in GDT - Bombers vs Esks
Did you hear his whiny post game interview on TSN? He basically called the refs out and said there should have been penalties against us too when they got dinged for those 30 yards near the end of the game. He just kept going on and on about it. Its always the retaliation that gets called bro. Ours guys had stopped mucking it up and were walking away, while your guys were continuing to be dicks and shoved a ref. SUCK A FAT ONE MAAS! And I know you can hear me with those 2 satellite dishes attached to the sides of your head!

Yeah… I think LaPo called a good game. Actually, I think LaPo generally calls a very good game and seems to understand what he’s working with very well. The blue bombers offense – under his direction - is superior and more sophisticated than what we had before… Remember those days? - No misdirection? No check down game? No deep threat? Utterly predictable… Before he came back? I’m going out on a limb here and saying he is a smart guy that takes a lot of caca on this board from for reasons that I find hard to understand.
And, pleeeeeeeeze...I really like Buck, but can we finally put to bed any yammering for him to take over as the OC? I mean, once again, what evidence is there that Buck is an offensive mastermind? The bombers have a highly rated offense even with a starter (Nichols) with a limited skill set and ceiling (compared to some of the other starting quarterbacks) and have still managed to produce and are now eight and two.
So, let’s give LaPo a little well-deserved love, along with some of the other pieces in the successful season we’ve had thus far.

WildPath reacted to Noeller in NFL Coming to Winnipeg for Preseason Game
this is really all I care about with this entire fiasco.....the Bombers making $$$$$$. Take that hype train for everything they're worth, and send 'em down the road again...good riddance but thanks for the money.

WildPath reacted to Booch in Nichols Injury
But if Lapo is as smart as he is claimed to be..then he will add misdirection..lots of motion pre snap to see what the defense does..if they choose to just stay in the box to snuff Harris and Streveler draws.. then they will get roasted with bootlegs... Outside swing/screen passes to a speedster like Whitehead or Demski...and a lot of one on ones with Matthew's and Lawler (tho he might be out in think with lower body injury..Hello Bailey) and I like our odds there against the schmoe secondary and Hoover who blows.
They react and spread the defense out to cover the motion..like they should then there will be the usual outlets to use..
We need to run tempo tho throughout game..or to start game...Strevler excels in this and it will eff up the Scmoe gameplan right outta the gate

WildPath reacted to M.Silverback in 2019 CFL Season: Around the League
Great questions. I have no idea, but, I have ranted before about the CFL's veil of secrets around stuff like negotiation lists, injury reporting. Weird because other pro leagues, like the NFL and NBA, are becoming more transparent with information to fans as a way to engage them more. The CFL to me takes a rather ho hum approach to fan engagement. If I were part of the CFL executive I would be losing my mind trying to figure out how to get fans more engaged and actually paying for tickets in the big markets.

WildPath reacted to do or die in Getting things square with Wade - 500th home game
(copy of E-mail to Bomber office)
Attn: Mr. Wade Miller - Confirmation on BC game agenda
Dear Mr. Miller
Do or Die checking in (my user handle on Morning Big Blue)
I just wanted to check and review the following arrangements to celebrate my 500th home game, this evening:
5 PM – Pickup by a Blue stretch limousine, transport to IGF
6 PM – Appearance on CJOB pre-game show.
6:15 PM – Visit to Bomber locker room to deliver inspirational speech
6:30 PM – Complimentary yard long Shawarma, from Obby Khan.
7:00 PM – Free ride around the stadium, in Captain Blue’s airplane.
7:30 PM – Performing ceremonial kickoff, after coin toss.
8:00 PM – Short roaming gig, as CJOB cynical sideline reporter
Halftime – Invitation to the 55 yard line – to receive gifts, including life long supply of gin
Halftime – Interview with TSN panel
10:00 PM – Rigged 50/50/draw
I realize you are quite busy – but I am sure that you agree - it is important that these arrangements go off, with a hitch.
Btw – when years ago, I called you “Friar Tuck” on Our Bombers, I was actually referring to your generosity and genial good nature.
Yours truly,
Do or Die
GO BOMBERS!

WildPath reacted to Nash00 in Leos @ Bombers: Week Of Thread
Bought mine yesterday😀
Also, after seeing that Walby burger on Twitter I am so glad I have tickets to the game tomorrow. Not because I want to eat it, but so I don't have to hear Rod ramble on about it ad nauseum for 4 quarters.

Any truth to the rumor that he dinks and dunks his way across the country instead of taking one long flight?
-
WildPath reacted to M.Silverback in Leos @ Bombers: Week Of Thread
It's idiotic that the Bombers are so tight lipped about player injuries. The NFL literally mandates teams to release injury lists each week (big gambling and fantasy football business to support). Also keeps the fans engaged. You know, the people who make this professional sport possible by buying tickets, merchandise and paying for cable TV. What purpose does hiding injuries serve the Bombers? Does O'Shea honestly think that other teams have a white board where they would track the bodily location of injuries for players so they could "target" them when they returned? He played the game. He should know better.

Nuefeld's played regular-season games beginning in 2011.
2011 - 17 / 18
2012 - 17 / 18
2013 - 3 / 18
2014 - 8 / 18
2015 - 12 / 18
2016 - 7 / 18
2017 - 18 / 18
2018 - 18 / 18
2019 - 0 / 8
Total (100 / 152)
He's been dressed for about 65% of games, so not the best, but still more than 50%. For comparative purposes only, Pierce started 67 of a possible 125 games (53.6%) during his tenure here. As others have mentioned...the fact Neufeld is often "hidden" on the IR likely makes his starting % a bit worse than it actually is.

I fully believe Neuf is a team player and is being hidden on the IR.

I emailed the Bombers requesting a "West Kildonan" flag. They emailed back within an half an hour saying that they'll add it to the growing list of requests. Haven't seen it added yet but still hoping.

WildPath reacted to 66 Chevelle in Neighborhood Flags
well, first and foremost, I'm a football fan and because I followed the Bombers so intently the first year I was vested... even though I wasn't crazy about Nichols, I thought as a team overall there were solid... then I got to know people like Poop and a few others thru L'Damian so it was natural to root for them... not to mention the Bombers have the coolest name and uniforms in the league... that never hurts, lol... needless to say I get a lot of looks from people when I'm out in my Bomber swag, lol...
as far as football in general? I'm a lot bigger and more avid fan of the CFL than I am the NFL... NCAA is still my go to though, love my Tigers... but I live about 90 minutes from Arrowhead, a 2 hour car ride and 4 hour flight, with layover, from Winnipeg but I've been to more Bomber games than I have Chief games, lol...
I love the small size of the league, though it would be cool if they could support 12 or so teams, but, they're easy to follow, to know all of the players, and you can watch every game every week with a small commitment of time... then the whole "CFL happens when my other football isn't" which makes it a home run too!
