Don't post much here, but would like to share a few things about what tonight's Blue Bomber Grey Cup victory meant to me, if that's ok. Some info to put it into context...
 
- had a car accident in January. No one was hurt, and 0% my fault, but my car was written off. Had to buy lower quality vehicle with the settlement.
 
- spent nearly two weeks in the hospital with a nasty leg infection.
 
- engine blew out on my above-mentioned new (used) car. Ended up S.O.L. on that one.
 
- got another new car and got into another accident less than two months later. No one was hurt, but I will admit to being at fault for that one. Just a brain fart on my part. My bad. Had to buy another car.
 
- my mom, who let me move in with her 16 years ago, when my divorce cleaned me out, is moving into a nursing home at the end of this month, i.e. the end of this week (cue jokes re: grown man living with his mom, not to worry, no offence will be taken). What with the packing, searching for a place to live, plus the arranging of two moves, plus searching for three new (used) cars in one year, a hospital stay, and this being the last Grey Cup we'll watch under this roof, and all that upheaval and stress of this whole ***ing year... well, my mom and I had a good cry (good tears!) and a good hug and we both let out a loud WHOOP! when Zach took that knee at the end of the 4th quarter!
 
Anyways...
 
Cheering for a sports team may seem meaningless in the grand scheme of things, but, at least for me and my mom and my brother and sister and their spouses (all of us life-long Blue Bomber fans), tonight, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers winning the 2019 Grey Cup means... well... everything. I love the Blue & Gold, win or lose, but needless to say, I❤my Winnipeg Blue Bombers now more than ever! Congratulations to the 2019 Grey Cup Champion Winnipeg Blue Bombers! What an amazing game! Congrats to Andrew Harris! And thank you!🏈🤗❤
 
Having said that, as Tyrone Jones, James "Wild Wild" West and the rest of the Blue Bombers once said back in the day...

This team checked off a lot of boxes:
1. First playoff win at McMahon Stadium in 54 years. CHECK!
2. Avenged the 1972 Western Final loss to the Riders. Forty seven years. CHECK!
3. First Grey Cup win in 29 years. CHECK! CHECK!! TRIPLE CHECK!!!

Thanks. We know the pain you're feeling right now, but you're a classy guy with a classy coach, great team and a solid organization. Excellent fan base too. If it wasn't our time, we'd be pulling for your fellas against most others. Great season bud. 

You can’t win a Grey Cup with Ritchie Hall. You can’t win a Grey Cup with Paul Lapolice. You can’t win a Grey Cup a cup with Mike O’Shea . You can’t win a Grey Cup with out a passing attack, heard that a lot around here the past few years. Looks like you can!!!!!

Harris wins both awards. The media that snubbed him can choke on it

F'n heart stopping stuff. A perfect example of why sports are so compelling. The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat and every other emotion on the way there.

The after whistle **** by the riders was garbage. The refs need to get a handle on it at the beginning and not let it get out of control. But again they turn a blind eye to it and then it gets out of hand. When I reffed I would set the time early and the players knew that I wasn’t going to let them get away with that crap. But this reffing crew let the players dictate the game and the longer they let it go. The harder it was for them to get the game under control.?

Forward pass my ass, he was tucking that ball when he lost it not throwing it.
But that's not what gets me about the reffing. The riders were taking cheap shots after the whistle all game and never once got a flag.

Having been at that 1972 Western Final, it took 47 years, but I’ve finally put that ghost to rest.

Ticats are an incredible team this year, and I hope the Bombers win, but having said that, if it doesn’t happen, losing to Hamilton won’t hurt nearly as much as losing to the Riders would have.

1. Defence - Giving up only 3s instead of 7s and you've got a good chance to win. Massive, massive goal line stand at the end.
2. Collaros - took deep shots to stretch the D, and made good throws when necessary, even converted some 2nd and long's after Streveler experiments didn't work. No turnovers.
3. All those Rider fans talking smack making this win that much sweeter! For those keeping track, the Bombers were the first team to win:
- A regular season game at New Mosaic Stadium (NMS) - (July 1, 2017)
- A Western Semi-Final playoff game at NMS (November 18, 2018)
- A Western Final playoff game at NMS (November 17, 2019)
WE OWN NEW MOSAIC STADIUM WHEN IT COUNTS (which is in the playoffs).

Petermann has demonstrated on the few occasions he has been given that he can get you those tough 7 8 yards you need for a first down.
Demski probably played his best game as a Bomber last week, let's not stop that momentum but sprinkle in Petermann now and then to keep Sask's D off balance. Make those halfbacks, corners and the safety work hard.

The smart QB when going up to the line usually locates the MLB..and depth of the db's immediately, they will then send motion and see who goes where, and what it causes the MLB to do if they are showing heat...and now when you have a lot of ENDS playing stand-up it's really hard to determine who is gonna drop off..especially if its blended coverage...thats also why you see the receivers always do that run to line and stop...then re-set...they are trying to get the defense to show their cards and move...

Jam at the line..Have your HB or SAM jam in the 5 yard to mess up the timing or break up the pass...so playing tight man..or a mixed coverage. I could also see us show blitz and crowd the box to lull sask into the quick hitter and drop the ends out at snap right in the spot Sask has showed tendancy to hit...exactly the type of player in Jefferson we have to do that and get a pick six...much like he did to us and edm last year
