WildPath reacted to J5V in WSF: Bombers @ Stamps
This is where O'Shea needs to make it very clear to the officials that they need to be on the lookout for this crap.
Calgary's Oline did a fair amount of outright tackling of our pass rushers last game as well. If I were O'Shea I'd be making that clear to the officials as well.
This is not the time to be Mr. Nice Guy hoping a call or two goes your way because you are so nice to the officials. Dickenson is a master whiner out there and often gets his way just because the officials don't want to have to be confronted by him. F(ck that siht! O'Shea has been a head coach for 6 years now. He needs to start imposing himself on the officials as an Alpha Head Coach to neutralize Dickenson's incessant whining.

WildPath reacted to Wanna-B-Fanboy in WSF: Bombers @ Stamps
There better not be a play tomorrow where the stamps are 2nd and long and the game is on the line and their receiver away from the play, trucks our DB on purpose and draws a ******* flag for DPI.
Every ******* Playoff game they have that play in there. The refs buy it ALL the time.

WildPath reacted to JCon in Regular Season Bomber News
There's a small period of time after the Jets have been eliminated from the playoffs and the draft where they allow their reporters to cover the Bombers. It's usually during camp because it's cheap to send them to the stadium. The reporters generally use this as a vacay.

I wanted one of our fans to go push that guy down the stairs. I was ******* LIVID when that happened...

WildPath reacted to blueingreenland in WSF: Bombers @ Stamps
The Stamps are a cocky team and take after their QB and coach...but after what I saw from them last game in Winnipeg running up our stairwell...reminded me of that guy in the NFL who ran to the Cowboys star at midfield and just got plowed over - that's what should have happened to those guys - if Walby was still playing he would have knocked the receiver on his can so quick... anyways I hate Calgary and would love to kick the crap out of them on Sunday!

WildPath reacted to Wideleft in New Mosiac Stadium: Artificial Crowd Noise
Hate to burst bubbles, but Canadian beef is not hormone-free. That isn't to say that all ranchers are injecting their steers with growth hormones, but I know enough ranchers back home to know that some of them do. Only the dairy industry is prohibited from using growth hormones.
The food industry is a mess. Small organic farmers face more scrutiny than factory farms just to attain an organic designation. The huge farms have largely been self-policing and we know how well that works. I know of one hog corp that doesn't even have a soil scientist employed in Manitoba anymore.
Chickens and hogs have been overcrowded for so long that antibiotics (which they are receiving - don't fool yourself) are working less and less well. Barns are treated like bio-hazards.
The producers have to take some responsibility in this as well or they are going to lose their markets.
But this probably doesn't belong in this thread.

WildPath reacted to The Classic in New Mosiac Stadium: Artificial Crowd Noise
This is spot on.
Having lived here long enough, I've learned how they work. Saskatoon seems to be partly exempt, but the massive insecurity the rest of this province has manifests in a pretty classic way. They're insecure because their weakness is apparent. They're saddled massively with inbred stupidity, where schooling or intelligence is considered a weakness. They have literally nothing going here other than a CFL team, a WHL team and a disgusting shallow lake filled with various types of feces (mostly avian and human). Everything else in this province is done on the small and is pretty much a backwoods parody of what real cities have. They know they're low tier so they're loud. about. everything. ALWAYS. There's this general hatred of Winnipeg but nobody has traveled there. They rarely travel anywhere. They're loud and proud about... well...not really much, but they're too dumb to know it.
Having lived amongst them for so long, I guess you could say I'm like their version of Jane Goodall, except these gorillas are less civilized and aren't nearly as intelligent....and they'll fling their poo anywhere.

WildPath reacted to JCon in Chalk Talk with Coach O'Shea
Not one person tonight was prepared to look Coach O'Shea in the eye and tell him how to run the team!
It was another great event. Coach was open and honest as much as he could. He shied away from saying who was playing this week, obviously.
He addressed a question about what Matthews could tell the Montreal about our play calling.
He showed video of Montreal and talked about preparing for them. He shared the stats on Montreal, like how often they call certain plays and when they call them.
He talked about not believing that a player can't lose his position when they get hurt.
He talked about the freedom the players have when they are on the road.
And he guaranteed a win on Saturday. Well, not the last one.

Just popping in to say I can't believe anyone thinks we have a bad secondary. Our guys have been phenomenal this year, and we're down to like a 3rd string at Alexander's spot....still wicked tight coverage. What a crazy notion......

dirty hit by sask on bomber..... ok... but we'll change it. cause it's not really ok.
improbable penalty called on Jefferson for a phantom late hit on a sask player..... fine.
the disproportionate penalty calls in that last game was actually comical. and bombers the least penalized team to boot.
second rate.

Lutherselbo, Do or Die, Lyin'Guy, Stan Peters
Those are a few of the posters of RF I try to emulate- fans from other teams being proper guests
Just here to talk football- preferably the 3 down kind- are their times I type and want to talk trash back?, oh yah, but I remember I am in your house , so hit delete not send
As I've said before - these sites are more alike than I think some want to admit- and that's ok
40+ yrs ago I probably watched more Bomber games - saw more of Dieter, House, Poplawski et al because of the stupid blackout rules, and Taylor Field never "selling out" because they could always fit one more ass ( there's your hanging curveball- flame away) onto hemorrhoid hill, so Rider home games never made it to TV

Laughs and lectures from a fanbase that supported the signing and employment of Dwight Anderson right up to the last possible moment is, well, frustrating.
It's like when your dog barfs and he eats it. You know he's a dog, dogs do that, but it's like, cmon, be better

Booch is doing the trick in easing my concerns on this matter. Seems you really know what you're talking about. Is there anyone in the public eye willing to make the same claims?

AS someone who has first hand knowledge of this from my past...as have used..and saw back when teams actually encouraged and administered to you if you wanted and it so I have to side with Andrew for a few reasons
Teams gave a very thorough tutorial so to speak on what each drugs duration in your system was and where it would show test wise..blood..urine and the drugs half life. Also from testing protocol when urine and blood test are administered...and came back clean like they did then the athlete wasn't using...the only other thing that could be done above and beyond that to go one step further is fat samples as it lingers there...but that is never done
...and then a subsequent urine test 10 days later came back with minimal traces of it showing??...makes no sense and has to be some type of contamination or a bad test....even with an oral steroid taken immediately after his first test..the weakest of the weak would show large amounts in system for at least 14 days...undeniable amounts
Also the drug he is apparently accused of is pretty much impossible to get now...more or less discontinued other than from black market suppliers...And I have never heard of a professional athlete going that route to get a drug...basically not made from a legit producer...way to many risks in that.
Thats also why we got an extensive list of supplement companies as well where their "proprietary" blends of ingredients didn't actually say what amount of what was in it..or even if all ingredients are even listed..also as odd as it may seem that industry isn't even regulated, and companies can put whatever they want in their stuff without any recourse, or inspection and things are only pulled off shelves or investigated after reports of questionable things....sadly a lot of time that is deaths or serious health issues

WildPath reacted to Eternal optimist in looking ahead-LDC
Many people, myself included, find special teams weird. Saskatchewan has both benefited from, and been the victim of, special teams play this year:
The good:
- Lead the league with best kickoff return average (31.5 yards per return, MTL is worst with 18.1, OTT is 5th with 24.2)
- Lead the league for fewest yards allowed per kickoff return (17.6 yards per return, TOR is worst 27.6, WPG is 5th 23.3)
- Lead the league in punting average (49.0 yards per punt, TOR is worst 41.5 yards per punt, MTL is 5th 44.5 yards/punt)
The bad: SSK is dead last in several special teams categories (per CFL.ca, up to week 10):
- They are ranked 8th in punt return average per return (9.0 yards per return, WPG is best at 13.0, OTT is 5th at 12.4 per return)
- Tied with BC and CGY for most kick return TDs given up (4)
- They give up a league-worst 18.3 yards on average per opponents kick return (WPG is best 8.3 yards/return, TOR is 5th at 10.8 yards/return)
- They have the worst kickoff average (57.6, MTL is best with 69.4, TOR is 5th 63.3 yards/kickoff)
Surprisingly, SSK is actually second-fewest in special teams penalties (16) behind only WPG (14)
Personally, I think just like this past weekend, there will be one or two crucial plays or lapses in judgement (resulting in penalties) that dictate the outcome of the game. Should be a good one.
