Josh Hawley demands Canada be added to religious freedom watch list

In Alberta, Canada, some pastors were arrested after openly defying COVID-19 restriction, and Sen. Josh Hawley of Missouri is claiming that the pastors, James Coates and Tim Stephens, were victims of religious persecution and is asking the Commission on International Religious Freedom to consider placing Canada on a special watch list.

In a letter sent on June 26, the far-right GOP senator wrote, "I am troubled that our Canadian neighbors are effectively being forced to gather in secret, undisclosed locations to exercise their basic freedom to worship. Frankly, I would expect this sort of religious crackdown in Communist China, not in a prominent western nation like Canada."

This reminds me, has there been a decision in that case between the various churches and the MB govt?

It will be interesting to watch the southern health region.  They don't have a large urban centre, yet they still have 20 - 30 cases every day - about half of Winnipeg's number.

Similar deal with the Northern health region, but at least they have a semi-decent vaccination rate.

  3. That's the thing about loosened restrictions: just because you now CAN do something (e.g. go out to a restaurant, have 10 people over in your backyard) doesn't mean you SHOULD. Unfortunately most people will react like they're at the mall on Boxing Day morning.

it will inevitably be clogged up by the d-bag who stops in the merge lane and waits for all traffic to pass, just like in every other interchange or merge lane in the city.

100% agree. Not only should you get a ticket for being a moron, but you should also have your licence taken away.

Eligibility Criteria: First and Second Doses

    Last updated: June 16, 2021

All Manitobans aged 12 years and older are eligible to schedule a first dose vaccine appointment.

Manitoba has identified priority populations to have access to a second dose of COVID-19 vaccine first. The following people are eligible to schedule a second dose mRNA appointment, regardless of which vaccine they received for their first dose - Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD:

We don’t actually know she wasn’t there. So far she has denied that any evidence of her being there. I’m going to bet she was.

x2. We all know there's no such thing as an honest politician.

Announcement today at 12:30 about new restriction in Manitoba. What's frustrating about that to me is that there was a large rally of anti maskers at the Forks yesterday but no enforcement to be seen.

They should start off today's press conference by listing the names and addresses of everyone that attended the Forks rally yesterday. Then after they've announced the new restrictions they can say "If you want to complain about this, go see those people".

Leafs without Matthews or Nylander are a different animal, but I'm enjoying making Campbell and Rittich look like assholes...

Wearing a Leafs jersey does that.

nice goal ehlers but this leafs goalie rittich.... lame.

If Matthews had scored that goal, TSN would have an hour long documentary about it and would also have it at #1 on every top ten list for a month.
