some of you actually may have a case for this "he thinks he's a big deal" thing if I was posting my "scoops" for my own personal benefit. What I'm really attempting to do is pitch in on the development of the MBB site and since I'm useless at pretty much everything related to website development, sharing information early and trying to get us on the map for a place people can go for breaking Bomber news is where I try and contribute.
 
Cory is right though, I used to flaunt it a bit more when I was immature and thought it was "cool" to have inside sources within the organization, but I've said for a long time now that I don't have any connections to the club anymore, I just have a routine of digging for information that turns up something worth sharing once in a while.
 
Considering I turned down money from "another website" in exchange for handing over everything I learn in order to continue trying to do what I can to develop this one for all of us, I wouldn't say I think I'm a big deal at all.

Posted it on Twitter this morning, the 2014 increase that the owners proposed equates to 3.6% of the new revenue.

We're cutting a lot of talented players just to fit Etcheverry's scheme. I don't like this one bit, especially considering Etch won't be with the Bombers next season.

I don't care either way but I think Michael Sam makes himself even more of a target by complaining that he would have gone in the first 3 rounds if he wasn't gay. Get real. Even if it is true, and I don't believe it is, he just sounds like a whiner saying stuff like that.

What's funny is that the impairment from driving while one is fatigued is probably greater than the impairment from driving high.

I personally like Etienne and wish we would've kept him, but it's fairly obvious that our current regime doesn't feel the same way.

Cauchy is a big reason that safety isn't a position of strength. IF someone was willing to let a 2nd rounder go for Cauchy I'd be thrilled.

To be completely fair though, a lot of us were throwing him under the bus before he was even officially hired.

Miller knows Friesen only wants in to write a doom and gloom piece, I applaud him for telling Friesen to piss off. The media in Winnipeg needs to be taken in hand and controlled better. The sooner hacks like Friesen get cut off from the source the sooner they lose what credibility they had with the fans. 

When Charlie .. Milt .. and Khari were in the lineup .. you always felt like you had a shot ..

We have enough trouble filling rosters with quality Canadian players as it is. We have stuff where juniors such as Brett Carter could basically be on the team without taking up a roster spot. That's good enough.

If we still had our second round pick getting Coombs there would've been nice.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that I feel like there's nothing wrong with Barker doing this because it works as a two-way street that way. Players can be cut at the drop of a hat, but they also get the opportunity to leave whenever they want to explore a better opportunity.

I wouldn't give up Suber. I honestly wouldn't give up anything more than a Cauchy Muamba, Desia Dunn or an Aaron Kelly.

If the CFL were even close in money to the NFL, I would agree that players should play out their contracts.   But seeing the discrepancy in salaries between the two leagues, the short career window of professional football  athletes, and how they risk their bodies for our entertainment, I have no problem with releasing a player early if they have a legit shot at getting on an NFL roster.
 
While we may lose a few star players every year in this manner, if the CFL is viewed as a viable stepping stone to get a shot at the NFL, then we will attract far more talent then we will lose.  Most of the guys that are in the CFL are fringe NFLers at best.  Let them take their shot at the payday, most eventually come back.
 
I know the argument is that these guys wouldn't have a shot at the NFL if it weren't for the CFL, their careers would be dead.  But if you owned or ran a company and an employee of yours came up to you and said they had an offer to make 10 times what you are paying them, would you really tell them no?

Still not sure that letting him go was a good move IMO.
