but this is the major sticking point... There's still a chance they retain Walters and Burke which is just more of the same hiring the cheapest option and hoping for the best. The Bombers haven't shown any sort of changes at all except that Walters is more willing to get into trade talks than the last guy was. That's not a lot. 

The fact that Goltz isn't doing short yardage is an absolute joke.

yeah.  But we should also get Lulay as insurance in case Hank gets hurt and Collaros doesn't pan out.

It will help but we need a competent QB too. We have at best a competent backup in Hall.

I don't think it's a trade for Durant but a trade for Willy. I don't find this trade talk comedic at all but scary. My fear is if we make that trade Walters & Miller will go, "There we got our qb. We're done!" And that'll be it as as far as the team is concerned & they won't go after a guy like Collaros if available. With so little playing time, we have no idea just how good or bad Willy is. yet I'm willing to say that the morons who run this team would be willing to hand him the keys to the team. That's why  I don't want anything done about our qbs until after the expansion draft when the dust settles. Willy should be one of  our options. Not the only one. And if we trade for him, then knowing how the Bombers work, it will be. So, is this thread funny? Not one ******* bit.

I like Dickenson but I just don't think he's got it in him to play QB anymore

Why do people still believe that a playoff bound team has any interest in trading a QB that they may need before the end of the season? I don't understand why people continue to think that is going to happen?

Really?  Coaching doesn't matter?  Reilly had two years in BC.  Collaros has Milanovich, Maas, Brady and Ray who all played in the CFL at QB.  You think that doesn't make a difference in terms of developing a QB?  2 of our offensive coaches are in their first CFL job as a coach or player, the other 2 are Howell and Bellefeuille, essentially a rookie and a coach with a so-so record as both an OC and head coach, and no track record of developing quarterbacks, other than failed ones.  Mostly leaned on scrapped vets like Marcus Crandell and Kevin Glenn.

Just a general thought  .. unless the organization is willing to invest in positional coaches on the offensive side of the ball (a dedicated QB coach) with the intent of developing that position, I'd lean toward a veteran QB .. if for no other reason than without adequate support .. the ability for a young guy to flourish here is non-existant .. I feel like we'd simply be running yet another young QB out of town.   Guys like Glenn, Burris and Ray (who I don't believe will be available) don't need a whole lot of hand holding .. and might be best prepared to step in here and realize some success.

I get the frustration, I am too. But this isn't Madden. You don't sign a quarterback with no familiarity with your systems at this stage of the season and expect him to finish the year as your passer. It just doesn't work that way.

You do realize any new QB needs AT LEAST 2-3 weeks MINIMUM to learn the system to even step on the field right? QB's on teams have seen and can study playbooks prior to training camp, anybody new will not have that luxury, and you want to throw said person into the line up as a starter...

Yes, I still care.  I am a realist and there isn't much hope for this season beyond making the Miracle on Ice look like the Broncos beating the Jaguars.  I don't care that the Bombers haven't won a championship in 2 decades, they are my team in the CFL and I will cheer them on until I take my last breath.

It's football, always gonna watch it, always going to care if they win or lose or how well they play.
