Paddy Neufeld is a versatile Canadian O Lineman of a respectable skill level who is 26 year old.  Other than Quarterbacks what's more valuable in this league?

You draft guys in the first round hoping they can be Paddy Neufuld.  Broken down 33 year old Canadian O Linemen who were never as good as Neufeld still get signed in this league.  The lumox Paul Swyston gets three years to prove how much he sucks in this league.  If you are a 6'6 big bellied Canadian who can two step and  has ever accidentally gotten in someone's way in the cereal aisle at Superstore you're worth $100,000 to a CFL team.

So Paddy gets hurt.  A lot.  And it is so very frustrating for us fans.  No doubt about it.

But man, the Paddy Neufeld's of this country are gold.  And I don't want to see us give up on him too early.  I don't care if it takes till Week 8 for him to practice.  Because I guarantee when Week 8 rolls around Greaves or Chung or Mattias or Picard or all of them are injured and none of us will complain that Paddy gets paid like a starter and was hurt all this time.  Because your other options will be to start Thomas instead of Anderson or Sherman instead of Randall or god forbid, find Paul Swyston and throw him in there.

Plus, you get the added bonus of maybe watching Paddy Neufeld start 130 games over the next 10 years in green and white.  I'm willing to wait.

When someone says: "I know more about football than you do", they lose my respect.  Look, there's lots of guys that know more about football than me.  There are lots of guys that know less about football than me too, but some of them know more about one particular aspect.    I've been involved in amateur ball for decades, and have coached at a fairly high level.  I've attended numerous coaching clinics, and have travelled nationally to football events.  I've met and talked at length with top college and professional coaches.  Never has one of them said "I know more about football than you do"   In fact, the smart ones look to learn what they can from you.   I remember one professional American coach, new to Canada, asking me to draw up my favourite "gimmick" play, because a coach that we both knew told him of my passion for the uniqueness of the Canadian game.  It was over beers, and we talked about it for about an hour.   The next day, I got an email from him wanting to discuss it some more.   This guy was a much more experienced coach than me for sure, but he realized that he could learn something from me.

For a newbie like Tuscaloosa to come on this site and claim inside knowledge and that every who disagreed with him was a "moron", well, that's not a difference of opinion, that's a troll.

I think we'd be doing ourselves a disservice if we make the rules such that a person like Henry, who lives, works, and does a tremendous amount of community service here in our country, cannot become a citizen, despite multiple attempts.

Greaves is one of those solid if unspectacular types. We can and have done worse than him.

To me, one of the biggest things this year is that penalties were absolutely just killing offensive rhythms. And a lot of it was ticky tack stuff.

I think if you polled fans, not many of us would want to see big plays called back by silly ticky tack penalties.

I don't think I've thought this through enough to say it's the best idea, but I'd propose something like this - if there is an infraction on the play, unless the penalty being committed directly contributes to the result of the play, then I don't want to see it wipe out the play.

Best example I can give is that huge completion to Romby Bryant that was called back by a hands to the face penalty. What I'd ideally like to see happen there? Apply the penalty after the gain. It was illegal but it had no direct impact on the play itself. So if Romby scores there ... put the Bombers on the 10. The only caveat I'd put on this is that objectionable conduct (facemask, etc) penalties would wipe out plays entirely.

I've just seen too many big plays called back by stupid penalties that took place WAY away from the play. Nobody wants to see a 50 yard catch and run called back because there was offensive holding on the entirely opposite side of the field. Not with the way our referees throw flags. It was just painful this year.

Unfortunately, as the Argos go so does the CFL.  It is best for all parties that this gets resolved quickly and effectively.

The uniforms are mostly boring and unimaginative.  Especially on the whole.  They've stuck black in almost every uniform as the primary color.  I don't know how reebok stays afloat.  And their runners are crap too.

The cops' side of the story is:

He had received the call about a robbery but did not have a description.  He came upon Brown and friend walking in the middle of the street.  He rolled down his window and asked them not to walk in the middle of the street.  They disregarded his request.  The cop then got the description of the robbery suspects and decided it matched Brown.  He tried to get out of the vehicle and Brown shoved the door closed, shoving the officer back in the car.  Brown then struck the officer breaking bones in his face.  The officer reached for his gun.  Brown reached in and tried to grab the gun.  I believe the gun went off first at that time.  Brown backed away and began running.  The cop got out of his vehicle, weapon drawn and ordered Brown to freeze.  Brown turned around and became beligerent, taunting the cop.  He then bull rushed the cop who fired several times, killing Brown.

More than a dozen witnesses have come forward to support the police officer's account.  I believe the only witness to support Brown is his cohort who was in on the robbery (gee, whats his motivation in this) who claims Brown raised his hands and said please dont shoot and was then executed.

Now, sometimes good people do bad things.  But this is a cop with (I believe) six years on the force and nothing on his file.  So we are to believe that a cop with zero prior issues who has patrolled areas with large black populations chose this day to let his racism boil to the surface to gun down an innocent man in broad daylight in front of a bunch of witnesses?

    Who's story rings more likely?

Meh, I'd give him a look, I always like Bryant when he was in Blue and Gold. Contrary to the popular opinion on here I always admired his sticking up for his teammates in scuffles. I never held the opinion he was a me-first kind of guy.

All players get a pass on anything that happened during the Mike Kelly period.  Extenuating circumstances and all that.

We call it 'wheat wine' round these parts.  On a similar note, you used to be able to get used barrels from Seagram's up in Gimli.  Let water sit in there for a few weeks and you'd have pretty rad stuff.

We only got 4 channels on the rabbit ears - CKND was on Channel 9, CTV on channel 7, CBC English Channel 6 and French channel 3. Then that Fox station started up on channel 12 but it was always pretty fuzzy so hard to watch. And we would wear an onion on our belt, as was the style of the time. And we only had yellow onions, because of the war.
