Something tells me Eddie Shore wouldn't last long in the "new" NHL...
Did you watch the Don Cherry movie? Shore put a noose around a goalie's neck and tied it to the crossbar, so he'd hang himself if he didn't stay on his feet.
I've read that story in other places too, so I believe it.

And congrats to Lapo. Hope he does well.

I'd be ok with MBT as our qb next year. With a good ol and a running game, I think he'd win games here.
As of right now though, I'm working under the assumption that Nichols will be back.

It's a matter of respect. The psychological warfare stuff is well past it's time, like sitting out Chelios for an outdoor game in Chicago, benching Modano at 1499 career games played, berating injured players who are playing. That's all personal garbage and small man syndrome stuff. People with Babcock's personality don't have the leadership skills to manage the produce department at a Safeway. Wonder how many cups those 00's Detroit teams win with an actual leader.
Agreed. The Modano issue especially, he was being an ******* for the sake of being an *******.

Anybody else here involved in minor football? We got an invite to the Pinnacle Club on Sunday to meet the players and take pictures with the Cup.

Look at what they’re doing in Baltimore with Lamar Jackson. A team that is playing to the strength of his athletic abilities. I believe CS could be that guy for us if he is given the chance and we built the right offensive game plan behind him.
Maybe, but I'd have to see a lot more from him as a passer before I'd be willing to give him the keys to the franchise. Ideally, we'll get another season out of him as a 1b qb option before we have to decide if he's a starter.

Yeah but with the NHLPA stepping in about Buff theres no guarantee he wont get this year salary.
Would it not be exempt from the cap anyways? I would hope that if we're forced to pay b/c he's injured, it could be listed under LTIR.

Cleyon Laing and Cam Judge look like the two best Canadians available on D. Both are going to cost a lot, though.

Pretty classless and amatuer move by the XFL to do that...Perhaps Elizondo just quits then,,,is that not what he did to Ottawa...go interview/talk on the sly and if they say they gonna hire you..Quit the XFL...It wont be around long anyway
Hard to feel too sorry for him. If he had put in one more season in Ottawa, instead of screwing them over the way he did, he'd be able to interview for all of the HC jobs now.

A "one more year" chant started for Jefferson, and he responded with a "make it rain" hand gesture.

Nichols gave Streveler a run for Drunkest Bomber. Showing off his white guy dance moves on stage, lol.

With Speller and Eli already signed for next year, I wonder if there's still a need for Couture? Speller played really well in the playoffs. Same goes for Neufeld, with Gray waiting in the wings. Might be a way to save some money to re-sign other guys.
Eli could be our 6th ol, use our 1st on an olineman, and sign a cheaper depth guy in fa.

We watched the 84 GC the other day. Gonna watch 88 and 90 today. LET'S ******* GO!!!!!!!
I watched the 1984 game a few days ago. The Jones sack and Poplawski td are legendary plays.
That's the first football game I can remember watching, so it will always be the best to me. At least until 8ish tonight...

Have good luck tee shirt, worn when HAM has won and lost, yet still maintain it has luck and must be worn.
Think how bad the losses would have been if you weren't wearing it...

Gotta love the small towns. Everyone knows everyone and you have no choice but to get along so relationships matter.
I wouldn't trade growing up in a small town for anything. Small town life as a kid in the 80s-early 90s was the best.
I'm still friends with most of the people I grew up with.

4000 people, teaming metropolis compared to where I grew up. Keep in mind that Manitoba has most of it's population centralized in Winnipeg and you got a ton of tiny communities scattered throughout the province.
Yeah, I lived in two different towns when I was a kid; one had approx. 800 people and the other had approx. 300.

I'm on board the MBT train. He and Streveler would be a great 1-2.
