Ha...they have to be...can't pay million bucks for 4 import receivers..especially with Cottoy prob making 100k too

And Rhymes is still on their roster...and not at league minimum

I think Rhymes signed for cheap last year. $85k or so, iirc. I remember being surprised when it was announced.

Ellingson, Walker, & Harris would all be >1k receivers in Winnipeg, imo.

  2. Kito Poblah got mentioned in a thread, and it reminded me about this. He runs a winter travel team for jv and varsity age players. Don Burrell, another former Bomber, is the varsity team's head coach.

Just wondering if anybody has had a kid in this program, and if so what are your thoughts on it?

  3. My low point as a Bomber fan came on the evening of September 27, 2013. As I sat alone in my section, watching some guy named Jason Boltus try to be a football player, I wondered if I was still able to do it. Could I still support what this once proud franchise had become? At that moment I never thought I'd live to see us win another Cup.

When we won last year, I didn't even know how to react. I celebrated way more this year. Last year was more like stunned silence. The nightmare was finally over.

Can anyone who has reservations/doubts about Augustine explain why?

I don't recall him being a great blocker, but that's about my only complaint so far. I thought he ran the ball well.

Imo, Harris' blocking and experience in knowing where to be as a safety outlet for the qb would be the two hardest things to replace if he got hurt.

I have never seen Schitt’s Creek and I am not a big binge watcher or streamer. The last episodic tv show I invested in on network TV was Big Bang Theory, and online it was Game of Thrones. So it got me wondering, what tv show (either network or online) have you never seen or barely watched that was seemingly very popular or that “everyone else” watched? I never had HBO so many of them I could only see later on Netflix and such and couldn’t be bothered to binge.

My short list would include Sopranos (seen snippets but never even a full episode), Breaking Bad (quit after one season on Netflix) and Arrested Development (not even one second of it), to name but 3 of many.

So what are others not watching that would surprise the general public?

I've only ever seen a handful of Big Bang Theory episodes. Way too sitcom-y for me. The laugh track is out of control.

I'd highly recommend you watch a few episodes of Arrested Development. That, along with Seinfeld & 30 Rock, are my three favourite sitcoms ever.

Hex was a no-brainer for that gig. He's awesome and should never have been let go in Phi. Major bonus for Pens fans is that Flyers fans will be CHAPPED that a legendary Flyer will now be with their most hated enemy.

Agreed. Too bad Tocchet isn't still coaching there.

His deal with Toronto was for $200k but he's classified as a rookie under the current CBA so he can only make the rookie max ($80k).  He's not willing to play for that amount so it's doubtful we ever see him up here.

That's seems unfair. He would be ineligible to win ROTY, but they can still call him a rookie to keep his salary down.

so basically we are starting the season with Bryant, Desjarlais, Couture, Neufeld and Hardrick as starters, and have Gray, Eli, Kolankowski and possibly Speller (all who have starter experience) battling for the back up spots...how can you not be pleased with that?

I read somewhere that Speller is expected to go to Toronto. We still have very good depth, though.

Fajardo more than likely doesn't get a MOP nod based on his statistics if every Western teams' starting QBs don't all get hurt at some point during the 2019 season.

I 100% agree with this point. Plus Harris' drug test.

    2019-Fajardo 4302 passing yards, 18 TD passes, 8 Int

    2017-Nichols 4472 passing ayrds, 28 TD passes, 8 Int

    Just saying

Maybe I misunderstood the argument. I'm saying I'd rather have Fajardo now.

  10. I would take Fajardo over Nichols. There's certainly no "Nichols derangement syndrome" for me. I liked him when he was here, and thought we could have won a Cup with him. He was never the beneficiary of defensive performances like Collaros got in the 2019 playoffs.

I know this is a Bomber board, but I'm surprised how many people don't just not like Fajardo, but think he's terrible. He had a very good season. Hopefully he's a one-hit wonder and doesn't do it again.
